Is there any way to use the rest of reagent kit when the changing reagent kit alert comes up? I can see the amount of liquid exists under the bottles..

    yes, thanks alot
    another question, please:
How many tests can be done per each reagent kit?
does the daily usage frequency affect this number?

      Hello Sherif,
The daily usage does indeed impact the amount of runs you can get from the kit. The ProCyte Dx is a 'wet' analyzer and, because of that, needs fluidic maintenance. The daily standby (going in and out) takes care of that. This daily maintenance does use fluids from the reagent kit. therefore, if one would not use the ProCyte to run samples, it would still consume fluids.
Therefore, running more samples on a daily basis is positive towards the amount of samples you can get out of a box. Furthermore, if a user does not expect any samples on a given day, there is no need to take the ProCyte Dx out of standby mode - preserving fluids that way.
The ProCyte Dx can be in standby mode for up-to 1 week if needed.
Another way to preserve fluids would be to time the "weekly reboot" on the evening before a non-working day. Example: When Sunday is a day where the clinic is closed, you could run the 'turn off' sequence on Saturday evening, which will switch off both ProCyte Dx and IPU. Then, on Monday morning, you could switch the ProCyte Dx on again. This would save you the fluids that would otherwise be consumed during this procedure when it is done during a workday as part of the weekly maintenance.
The ProCyte Dx can be switched off for up-to 1 week as well, if the correct procedure has been followed (Instruments - ProCyte - turn Off)
Lastly, it is advised to never inspect the fluid level of the reagent kit by lifting up the Quick Connect Top to perform a visual level check. This could introduce bubbles in the lines which could lead to extra maintenance. The IVLS fluid level meter is the best way to determine remaining fluid level.
I hope this helps, but otherwise I'm more than welcome to answer further questions.

how switching off low reagent warning maximizes reagent usage?

    • @IDEXXLaboratoriesEurope

      Hello Sherif,
When this is option is switched off, the PDx will warn the user when the reagent kit is truly empty. The warning 'reagent low' has sometimes been perceived by our customers as the moment to change the kit but when the warning 'reagent low' comes up, there is still fluid left in the reagent kit. If someone were to change at that moment, it would not maximize the reagent usage.
      I hope this answer helps?
