That film, I have only watched once. And I was crashing out constantly during the film, because I had read those books _religiously_ growing up. I knew exactly how they bastardized the series with every second of its runtime, and I BEGAN. TO HATE. Every time Disney announces a new adaptation, I immediately assume they're going to violate the source material. It's why I could not STAND to give the new Percy Jackson a shot. They pulled the "the OG author is on board, guys" with Artemis Fowl - if anything, instead of a promise to protect it, it sounds more of a "we'll make you WATCH as we mutilate your artistic child."
As a kid and teen i read all the artemis fowl books, i got the graohic novels, i got the lorebook, i was SUPER into artemis fowl. That movie broke my heart
I never met anyone outside my immediate family who had heard of Artemis Fowl and never bothered going on the internet to talk about it, so when the movie trailer came out and suddenly everyone was talking about it i was surprised and a bit confused. It's good to see people talking about the series even if it's only because of them hating the movie. I'm glad to see people spreading the good word of Artemis Fowl.
Artemis Fowl was one of my favorite book series growing up, so this was nice to see. The new Holly is a huge improvement, if someone saw it who hadn't read the books, they'd already have a flavor of what she's all about. And if you, reading this comment, haven't already read the books - go check them out!
By the end of the movie I was just amused by how weird and wrong it was. It's very fun seeing someone explain Gnomish, as a kid I decoded it myself and felt so smart, despite the fact that that was clearly the point. I most likely can't read it anymore, but I'll always remember E because of how weird it is.
I played this during a long darkest dungeon session, didn't even know what you were talking about most of the time but it helped me say sane and not braindead
Kenneth Branagh does work for the mouse so he gets a payday so he can fund his own films. He did the original Thor then did his Jack Ryan Movie Reboot, He did Cinderella which got him $ to do the Murder on the Orient, and Artemis Fowl which lead to help funding Belfast & Death on the Nile. Could be wrong but just felt that was his motivation.
I never heard nor cared about Artemis Fowl until the Disney movie was announced and still don't BUT hearing you talk about it is so intriguing and kinda sad. Good vid/stream.
I'm not a fan of vtubing but I totally respect avoiding face reveals, especially on today's internet. It's kind of funny, but you're a lot more genuine than a lot of people that do share their faces.
Damn I wish I didn't miss this stream but I never heard of Artemis Fowl before surprisingly but I didn't know Midas was into funko pops. I can't believe she defaced it and made it better, though wonderful work on that.

i Thought you streamed again when i saw this on my sub feed thinking you did a stream in like 2am Pfff. Anyways. Good Edited Vod 👍 P.S Take it easy on the coffee.

I love hearing passionate people ranting about bad adaptations, thanks midas.
25:51 She's breaking it down folks
They re-did the Gnommish alphabet!? Call Postal Guy.
Disney didn't like an actual good IP so they twisted into their modern art representation of it.
A 2 am upload? Oh, thank you Midas, I shall hang off your every word before passing out midway through
Update, I didn’t, and now I am so incredibly curious about Artemis Fowl

OMG! Another person who also loves this series then had to go through the trauma of that movie!

Now Alex Rider’s a name I haven’t heard in a hot minute. I’d love to hear your take on that series.
I might just buy an Artemis Fowl book cause of you, Midas
I've never read it, but that thumbnail alone is infuriating on a criminal level ÒnÓ
Your little brother sounds awesome lol

You getting bullied on tumbler is the most *you* thing about this entire broadcast lmao
Artemis Fowl could be better as an anime anyway, even if its fan made.

there’s a movie?
Is the audiobook any good?
I don't watch movies based books I like/liked because when does that ever go well?
Were you aware of the comic book based off the first novel?
@@iang257 there was two versions of the comic by two artists! First artist covered up to book four, second artist is up to book two iirc
@CoreOfMidas I was unaware of there were those. I just know the comic with the single panel of the Fairy/Pixie girl in the shower. 💀
Have you tried reading Percy Jackson, it's pretty good
Artemis and Percy have at least one thing in common: incredibly shitty movie adaptations

I hate characters that are made for actors. Actors should become the character. Never the other way around.
