So much potential to exploit here, but the creator just focused on Naruto and Sasuke, and sometimes a few lucky ones like Guy.

I agree. As shown here she had a great deal of potential and its unfortunate that it hasn't been developed. I've thought about it and what would have been interesting is if Ten Ten is like Rock Lee in that she has only limited abilities of the three main types of jutsus. However, she discovers that she has an affinity for metal and can infuse chakra into it to allow her to manipulate it in a number of useful/dangerous ways. It could be something like Gara's ability to manipulate sand.

Tenten is a Bukijutsu Kunoichi, perhaps one of the few there who got "screen time", and Kishimoto wrote her like an door. Seriously, the writing potential there is undeniable! I WANT A NARUTO REBOOT!!

imo I think she's more like a Viper than a Tigress. Tenten doesn't have the fighting prowess of either of the two, but Viper does use a weapon(ribbon) as part of her character.
