I feel EXACTLY the same way about The Bee Gees! I could, literally, sit and listen to their music ALL DAY LONG! They were magic! Their REAL gift may have been the ability to write such great songs. They hook you in immediately. But then, there are those voices! There's never been any other group that could touch them. I just find that their music NEVER gets old, and I just want to hear it again and again. Thank you SO MUCH for checking this one out. As always, LOVED your reaction to them!
One of the greatest groups of all time. You can't get tired when it comes to perfection. I love your reaction to their songs, you are truly on a Bee Gees journey. 🥰
Back in the early 70s, I worked at Philharmonic Hall in Lincoln Center. I was a young college student. One night I was asked to take The Bee Gees to the stage from the Green Room. They were so friendly and down to earth, I've never forgotten it. This was around 1974, not long before they went Disco. They did all their classics like this one. It was a beautiful show and they were at their peak! Love those guys!
The Bee Gees broke up for about a year or so in 1969 and when they got back together in 1970, The brothers wrote this song in the 1st afternoon they were together. IN ONE AFTERNOON, they wrote this hit! Barry was 24, the twins were 21.
Well, technically they didn't break up. Robin went solo for a year. Barry and Maurice still performed as The Bee Gees, and sometimes had their sister Lesley perform onstage with them. Nothing like sibling (vocal) harmony, any way you can get it.
@@DougRayPhillips Well technically they DID! The Bee Gees were the 3 brothers. AND when they discuss it, THEY also refer to being broken up. It could be that they know best.
Barry and Robin Gibb wrote the song in August 1970 with "Lonely Days" when the Gibb brothers had reconvened following a period of break-up and alienation. "Robin came to my place," says Barry, "and that afternoon we wrote 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart' and that obviously was a link to us coming back together. We called Maurice, finished the song, went to the studio and once again, with only 'Broken Heart' as a basic structure, we went in to the studio with that and an idea for 'Lonely Days', and those two songs were recorded that night". It looks like this was the brothers makeup song!
I never get tired of the Bee Gees. As a matter of fact I've been watching them on UA-cam lately. Their midnight special performance is really good. You should check it out on your free time 😁
This is the reason why I like the Bee Gees group in their music so much:. they are my favorite group and it's because no matter how bad I feel how brokenhearted how sad or if I'm grieving a major loss I can listen to one of their songs in for at least a few minutes of time it brings a smile back to my face enjoy back to my heart at least for the period of time that they're singing.I think this is the reason why their music resonates with so many people will cross all barriers I've never yet seen a person anywhere that did not at least like some of their music if not all of it.
I never get tired of the Bee Gees! Thanks so much for reviewing this song!! Peace! Please do a reaction on their song called Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. Can't wait!
I shall NEVER get tired of the Bee Gees! One of the best bands/musicians/singers in the history of music. And their song catalog is amazing. Love them so much. I miss Maurice and Robin!
A lot of Bee Gees songs feature both Robin and Barry's voices, like "I've Gotta Get a Message to You", For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "Holiday". Also have you done "Staying Alive" yet? That was a huge hit. Also must do "Nights on Broadway". Thank you for reacting to the Bee Gees!!!
The Bee Gees first #1 in the US (1971)...............ABSOLUTE MAJIC!. This song transports me outta here to a place of euphoria. Thanks for covering this group as well as this song.
At a time when men could be vulnerable and share their deeper feelings, feelings of loosing, of sorrow, of the pain of a broken heart...songs of yesteryear speak louder now than ever...
They sang a song in the 60s called 'New York Mining Disaster' I remember as a little girl it gave me a nightmare, so haunting. It is based on a real incident. Beautiful but I'll never forget it
"For Whom the Bell Tolls", please! Robin owns this song! Great reaction to "Broken Heart". I can see you're really loving them and get what we Bee Gees fans have known for decades, a truly amazing group that never disappointed us ever!
A gem of theirs that seems to be forgotten is "Fanny (Be Tender With My Love)"... as far as I know there isn't a live version of it because the studio arrangements were so complicated it was so difficult to perform live. Soaring voices that keep going higher and higher! I guarantee you will love it!
I’ve just found you on UA-cam and am so enjoying seeing your reaction to the group that was the soundtrack of my youth. May I give you a little in-sight to this lovely song?... in 1969, after having been so successful in their musical careers in such a short time, the pressures of the music business and the entourage of those hangers-on who were pulling the brothers apart ended with Robin quitting the band. After a year and a half apart Robert Stigwood, their manager, put his foot down and pulled them back together. The brothers, hurt and not trusting one another, went back into the studio and ‘How do you Mend a Broken Heart’ was their first release thereafter. They say that the song was the of expressing the hurt that they had each endured and literally brought them back together.. never letting outside influences get between them again. 🤗 Thank you for introducing these incredible brothers to a whole new generation of listeners!! 💖
I was lucky enough to grow up and appreciate the Bee Gees , we will never get this kind of talent again . Every era has its own music talent . 2000 , most musicians carry their talent off the back of time before . It's so sad that Andy , their younger brother died so tragic . I broke my heart when Maurice and Robin died . RIP guys xx
Robin's vibrato sends me off to another world. He sings like no other. The voice of an angel 💟. Happy for you that you are experiencing their music, a talent that has captured me for decades. BEE GEES FOREVER!
If you wanna hear more of Robin singing, then check out "I've Just got To Get A Message To You AND Run To Me". Personally, I can not think of a bad song from them. Everything they sing & write, has their magical touch!
Run to Me is probably my favorite Robin (and Top 5) Bee Gees songs, its AMAZING. I love how even their "sad"-ish melancholy songs are also so full of hope.
One of my favorite songs by the Bee Gees. There's a yearning and melancholy that I love in the delivery of this melody. Diana Krall, the jazz pianist and singer, does a cover of this song that's quite beautiful too.
Your reaction to this beautiful song was priceless! You seem to enjoy the Bee Gees as much as the rest of us who grew up with them. I think we have a new fan! Love all your other reactions to other Bee Gees songs. Try "Run to Me", "I've Just got to get a message to you", & "Fanny". Thanks for doing such a great job.
Run To Me" by The Bee Gees while laying on the sand with My Mum, aged 18 just a year after My Dad died on 11th April 1971 in The Isle Of Wight just off the English coast; That song along with Walk Through The Night: Junior Walker/Honky Cat: Elton John/Journey: Duncan Browne and "Where Is The Love: Roberta Flack always reminds me of that holiday and in 43 Days time will be 50 years since my lovely Dad passed....
I have yet to find a song from them that didn’t move me... The toughest thing is that Barry has lost all of his brothers including Andy who was more a solo artist.. When you think of it how do you mend that broken heart 💔
I watched an interview speaking just about that topic recently..🙁 Barry said that at the time of the passing of both Robin and Moe they had exchanged words; he seems to be reliving that everyday. God bless him, ALL families fight, just be sure to make up quick, we never know what tomorrow brings..🥺
This performance is from the last days of the group, and it shows. The power in Barry's voice is gone, but his humanity and depth more than make up for his diminished vocal skills. This is a somewhat heartbreaking performance, knowing what will occur to Robin and Morris, but it's still the Bee Gees, and it is, emotionally, a wonderful listening and viewing.experience, Thanks for posting it, J. My respect for you grows with every new video you post.
The simplicity of the Bee Gees songs make them so amazing. Their voices will remain timeless. You can hear every expression in their delivery. Beautiful! Just love the Bee Gees like no other. It just seems impossible and hard to take that Barry is the only Bee Gee left standing. It's heartbreaking to believe that the other 3 boys are gone from this Earth. Surely they are singing in heaven right now!
The BeeGees have given us so much great music and memories. Love and appreciate them. Bless Barry, the only one we still have. Jay, I appreciate that you get right to the music without a prolonged intro. You know what time it is.
My very favorite Bee Gees song!! I've never heard this live version before. It's great, but treat yourself to the studio version - the harmonies are much easier to hear, and it really captures the emotion of the song better. Great reaction, and you're so right - who could ever get tired of the Bee Gees??
Bee Gees never fail us! Please do a live version of "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" circa 1979; also live in Los Angeles "For Whom The Bell Tolls"; AND the official video of "Woman in You" (Robin is so funny); and the 2001 "Where I Came In"! TY, James!
Your one of my favorites... And I’m so glad that you play the BeeGees.... Their music is so meaningful and so beautiful....Keep playing different songs from them....💕💕
Beautiful song of my "much younger days" great song, great group. Bless you. So fun to watch young people connect to our music. Much love from California.
I know what time it is. Time for another BeeGees reaction! You LOVE these guys. It's for real now. Your genuine feelings are the best part of the reaction video scene. Love you!
Of all the singers you have listened to these are without a doubt the BEST. So many groups are really good or great but the BROTHERS GIBB are at the top of them all. Now and always❤️👍‼️❤️ They could do lt all and did.
I found an old cassette that I taped directly from a radio station when this song first came out and there was a star next to the title... No pretense, no posturing, just 3 talented brothers who wanted to sing, and sing they did. They brought joy to so many back then, so needed now, and probably forever... When you can, listen to "For Whom the Bell Tolls, Fanny Be Tender, and Tragedy"... (and that's just the start!!!) Thank you for your appreciated reactions...

No one ever gets tired of the Bee Gees. Once you're a fan. it's for life.
I will never get tired of the Bee Gees, never....❤💙💚
It makes me happy to see a younger generation loving the bee gees.

(I Can't See Nobody) I'm excited to see what you think of this Beautiful song that Robin sings!!
Love those Bee Gees
"Words" is another beautiful Bee Gees song ..... Well worth a view ! Thank you .....

@@DougRayPhillips Well technically they DID! The Bee Gees were the 3 brothers. AND when they discuss it, THEY also refer to being broken up. It could be that they know best.
They sang from their heart and soul. This is why their music is timeless and beautiful. True gifts to humanity

@@louisevangeyzel9960 yes I definitely know I will never see another group like them in my lifetime
"Nights on Broadway" live 1974 please!!
That one is just out of this world!!
Yes!! The one from The Midnight Special in 1979 (I think it was '79).
Totally awesome song! This was right before the disco period. 💗💗

@@GeoffreyLaureate The 3 songs that you and Shelli named may well be the 3 best early Bee Gees songs that Jayvee hasn't done yet.

Run to Me is beautiful! I also love the cover done by Matthew Sweet and Susannah Hoffs.
Excellent songs 👍

My favorite BeeGees song! I love this live performance, but actually enjoy the recorded version a bit better.
I agree, the recorded version is even better. Robin was 21 and Barry was 24 when it was released.
Don't want to take anything away but the studio version is alot better, smoother, cleaner.
Patty Tyndall yes I like the recorded version more too. Oh my goodness they were amazing 💓💓
This came out in 1971 70s Baby They were FANTASTIC With music like the BEE GEES ,,
Such a talented and gifted buch of individuals. The Bee gees made it seem so simple, flawless vocals. Never forgotten thank you guys for the music!
