Beautiful Taylorcraft, and fantastic scenery. Alaska isn't for the faint of heart, and I do hope to travel there some time soon. Having just earned my Powerplant certification, I need to find a job in a nearby engine shop while I continue to work on my Airframe license. I love these old planes like Taylorcrafts. They just can't be beat!
At 7:30 mark he just about plants a wing from the wind. Couple times he came closer than I’d like. That Knik River area is my playground. That the fly to spot close to anchorage to take friends out flying. Great video and nice T-craft.
Yeah, it was honkin' out there. The wind is usually pretty reliable directionally out there, right? It was a touch variable that morning. We had about 30-35 on the nose headed up river on the way out. I about ruined my shorts when he dipped the wing. Not only would we have had a long day of recovery, but he was across the river from me shooting. He asked me if I wanted to take her up for a few laps and I declined. :)
Your vidz are like crack for me. I was in Mexico when you posted and had to wait 30 min for the video to load cuz my slow connection, because I couldn't wait till I got back to the States to watch!
I was just thinking, man I've got to get a cool plane like that! Then I realized it was a taylorcraft like mine! I've been flying big tires and a flat prop for a while and it is an amazing little airplane.
by the way, if you make it down to the coast of Georgia there's a group of us flying big tires around remote Islands that most of the country doesn't even know about
I like the little trick you did with the music at 3:16 I was thinking to myself why is this music so intense the scene isn't intense. Then you switched to the in cockpit view and I was like "Oh shits gonna get real"
Kinda hard to tell, but the wind was really honking, to the point where it affected my ability to hold the camera still. I think he just caught a little gust under the upwind wing. Pretty good reaction to save it, actually. Many people don't realize what it's like to fly patterns in 30+ knots.
Backcountry Pilot that's kinda what it looked like to me too. I have flown the same area with winds blowing 20 kts and it's a lot of fun to land a Cessna like a helicopter.
@@littlebealeusmc > Tires look fine . Depending on the weight of aircraft --tire size ( true Tundra's) --and what you landing on , these tires are used at 12PSI or less. This guy is doing nothing really dangerous unless ,,,, seen by a "UA-cam Pilot".
she is a beauty... nice videography as always, made me miss Alaska more than I already do..

Beautiful. Love your simpler videos when you let the superb videography tell the story.
Cinnamanster A haha...me too. Thanks.
I do love these too, but I also love the voice overs and more of a story too though. Those voiceovers are so damn smooooove!

Beautiful out there.

Haha...thou shalt not create false intensity.
Those seats look comfortable! LoL 😃😃
Ha! We took the cushion out because I'm a taller guy and it bought some yoke/leg clearance. It was pretty bad at first but my butt prevailed.
I dont think I have ever seen a Taylorcraft quite like that before..
Sure makes a cool bushplane
The Tailorcraft has a very slender looking fuselage.. Nice proportions.
Nice video!!! Is an stc the engine change? I have a bc 12 and want to install 85 hp continental? Can i change the engine?
This is the stuff dreams are made of...
This must be the nicest thing to do in the whole wide world

tyler rockwell they look like stock brakes to me.
Factory Cleveland Drums and 29" ABW Airstreaks
Hi backcountry pilot does the Cessna 140 have any adverse yaw
Yes
It should be noted that this is not a Cessna 140, but a Taylorcraft F19.
@@BackcountryPilot thank you for the reply ps really cool video
Yikes. What a pucker moment right at the very end!
How much ?
Hey, whatever happened to those carbon cub ex videos you used to have up? Some of those were really great!
Hey Tom, I'm not sure which videos you're talking about. I don't think it was us.
Nice video! What the heck happened in the end shot? Looked like you almost had to walk home.

Personally responsible for 100 views.
You must be shopping Taylorcrafts
