100bhp as standard TSCC lol, had a 1980 one back in the day 1983, great bike for its era, wish I still had it, loved the clock display and warning check display.

Yeah wtf!! You put up a dyno vid and no #'s? I'm sure it's weak compared to today's bikes, but still nice clean old ride. I have an old '80 GS 1100 that would probably get smoked by a modern 600, but it's a strong runner and I know it would rape my harley.
@@cookiejarvis3856 gotta love all the bs on UA-cam . I owned a 1980 Gs1100E in 1981 with only 3ooo miles on it and it could do no where near 150 . Manufacturer only claimed 140 top speed as did all the magazines at the time . In the real world you were hard pressed to even achieve that , more like 135 was tops for a very good running one . They only made 85-95 hp in most tests on dynos at the time, with one magazine only getting 79 . Mine was a good running GS , Had a roll on comparison with a guy from the dealership with a brand new 82 GS1100E and we were dead even from 30- 120 . Suzuki claimed 105 at the crankshaft for the 80-81 and 108 at the crank for the 82.
@@willyf6172 I agree, I got a GSX 1100 EX '81 which broke in 2004 and with me (118Kg) it was fairly quick up to about 100Mph but took it's time to reach 130Mph (210Km/h). Not capable of much more without modifications, however if driven correctly and using the torque of the engine that 260kg beast is actually surprisingly agile and capable. Back in the late 90's I could really put more modern 750s and 1000s bikes in their place as long as the road had curves. Straight ahead any decent 600 bike at about 170kg would smoke the good old (and heavy) GSX any time.
frank johnston my 2006 bandit maybe only 95hp, looks like they brought the power down on these successive descended bikes..these dynos are true monster generators right? theyre designed to run test loads of electrical outputs based on the spin ability of the engines theyre treaded on? so If a bike of 100kilowatt is run on these dynos, I reckon theyre also spinning 100,000watts of energy to light 1000 pcs of 100watt lightbulbs brightly right?
@@fidelcatsro6948 I have owned a 1980 GS1100E , a 79 GS1000E and a 97 Bandit 1200S . and I can tell you there is no comparison between the GS1100 and the Bandit . The GS1100E was claimed to be 105 at the crankshaft and most only made about 90ish on the dynos in all the magazine tests at the time . The 97 Bandit made about 97-98 on a dyno , not crank HP .Suzuki does not give out the crank HP for the Bandit. With a full exhaust and stage 1 Holeshot jet kit my Bandit made 122HP on a dyno, at least 30 hp more than my GS1100E .And mid-range power on the Bandit felt about double the power of the GS to boot . The second Gen Bandits made a couple of HP more then the first in stock form , but that gets reversed with an after market exhaust plus jet kit with K&Ns . Mk1 Bandits have very restricted exhaust , so they get a huge jump in power with aftermarket stuff. Second gen Bandits also get a big boost with after market stuff but not quite the jump that G1s do. What Bandits do have in stock form is huge mid-range power , at the expense of a choked off top end .
@@willyf6172 no wonder she pulls like a freight train but only has 90ish hp in stock form.. midrange! i didnt do anything to her other than K&N air filter pad in the airbox and removing the pollution control crap on top of the head cover, but her mikuni carbs have a flat spot when moving off and probably needs to be pulled out for a flatslide..i ride the last model they did for the aircooled before they went watercooling the next year..

Take that top Box off that beautiful machine.... Unbelievable.
Brand new stock for these was 108 hp, but you could put on aftermarket exhaust and easily get them up to 125 hp.
And the dyno chart is ?????
Of course needs air flow (blower) when pushing engine NOT moving! Lovely Bike.
I had a 81 and in stock dress it dyno'd around 100HP
Where are the dyno numbers?
Probably 85 or so . That's why it's not posted.
@@willyf6172 I never understand why people post dyno videos without results. Check out my 1998 gsxr 1100 dyno video on my chanel.

Brian Zaborowski My dads GSX does 150mph and his old bike he had was a yamaha fazer 600 and that did 130 so...
Actually it'll take more than that to outrun one of those 16v 1100 motors... My old 1980 GS1100LT outruns my buddies 05 GSX750-F Katana.....

Motorcycle Dyno Rule #1 : don't hold the clutch in while the roller is spinning the rear wheel on deceleration, OUCH !!!
How is that any different to holding the clutch in while decelerating on the road?
So, what were your horsepower and torque numbers? Nice bike though.
yeah I wonder what was the readout..
Scott9084 should be 100bhp but the es could be put in like mine and it would read 112.5bhp
