  • Event Information can be found below regarding the Solar Eclipse for Long Island on April 8th 2024.
    Event: Total Solar Eclipse (90%)
    Location: Long Island New York
Date of Event: April 8th 2024
Solar Eclipse Beginning: 2:12 pm EDT
Solar Eclipse Maximum Peak: (90%) 3:26 pm EDT
Solar Eclipse Ending: 4:37 pm EDT
Description: A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun. The Sun is typically blocked from the Moon for about 1 minute to 5 minutes depending on totality. What you will see in the sky is a black shadow (The Moon) casting over the Sun. In the case of a 100% Solar Eclipse with the perfect conditions with little to no cloud cover at the very peak the whole sky will go dark for a few minutes making this the best possible view/experience of the Eclipse! Total Solar Eclipses are not a very common sight to see as you will you need to be at the right place and the right time in the world with perfect weather conditions such as clear skies, and little to no cloud cover. They only occur in some parts of the world a few times a year.
Final Note: There will be no audio in the video, and the Information regarding the exact times of each of the Solar Eclipses phases may not be 100% perfectly accurate but should be very close to being accurate for the most part some probably happened like 40 seconds ahead in the minute or 20 seconds less for an example. But I do want to thank you for watching this short video of the Solar Eclipse I was so happy to be a part of the event I love what happens in outer space it’s very fascinating! I have also been apart of many past Lunar Eclipses and there is scheduled to be one and even better a Total Lunar Eclipse on March 14th 2025!
