HDMI-AV Cable for iPhone 5/iPhone 6/iPhone 7/iPad

The HDMI-AV cable allows audio and video output from an iPhone 5/6/7, iPod Touch or iPad3/iPad Air - anything with a Lightning connector.

I understand the whole process but where does that first lightning cord go to? Is it coming from being hooked through the back of the deck, or just another cord to keep the phone charged since the av cord didnt have one?

If i wanted to use this so i could display gps on my screen whil i drive i would need to install a bypass correct? My a/v doesnt display unless my parking break in engaged

I'm a bit confused. At 1:03, I have a question. If the USB on the AV cable powers the HDMI, why do I have to plug in the lightning cable?

You only want to plug in the Lightning cable if you want to charge the phone at the same time. The USB on our cable DOES NOT charge the device while it's plugged in - it only powers our cable.
