    All I knew about this kid was that he was a 6'9 pg in college when my spurs took him and I was already happy with the pick. Now that I'm watching all this film on him I couldn't be anymore happier. And at 30! Ohh what are these teams thinking passing up on this guy who is a perfect fit for our team.

    Best playmaking forward in college right now, in my honest opinion. BBall IQ is excellent for his age. He'll end up having a Boris Diaw-type career at the NBA level. Hope a playoff contender drafts him, like the Spurs for example. Popovich usually gets A LOT of mileage out of players with Anderson's particular skillset.

      Gio Gioo BIG difference between college and NBA. Anderson will be playing one of those two forward positions in the NBA as he does not have the athleticism nor quickness to keep moonlighting at the 1.

    Anderson does remind me of Pierce in his latter years with very similar footwork. Very fluid and high basketball IQ. Many of you seem to forget how athletic Pierce used to be in his early years though.

    He reminds me a little of Paul Pierce with his slow motion old man's game. I'm not sure he can play PG defensively at 6-9 in the NBA, but I could see him being like a Pierce or Harden type at SG or SF, running a lot of the offense as a point-forward type. I'm not sure he has the scoring talent of those players though to truly be effective in that role.
    He's an interesting prospect though

  • @LongLiveCoffee

    All you comparing him to Pierce forget that Pierce used to have decent burst and quickness when he was younger. PLUS, Pierce has nowhere near the court vision/ desire to distribute the ball as Anderson does. Present day Pierce is a decent comp, as he's just crafty enough off the dribble to get the job done as is Kyle. He'll get assists in the league, and buckets too, but defense is his one area of concern at the next level

      Billy Mack 'Melo? How so? I'd say he's more like Phoenix Boris Diaw

    • @SwingMan1938
      @SwingMan1938 10 років тому +5

      Zaviay Taylor Agreed on the Boris Diaw (Phoenix Suns MIP 2005-2006 season) comparison.
      Kyle's less athletic, but WAY more aggressive and assertive with a better jumper & more range. Otherwise, their skill sets are identical - though I don't see Kyle pissing his career away by letting his talent waste like Diaw has with pacivity & laziness.
      My Suns have three 1st rounders this year (four if Minnesota falls 14 or lower) and I'm really hoping they can translate into Kyle Anderson through some combination - with the logjam at 2 off the Suns' bench (Gerald Green, Archie Goodwin), Kyle's playmaking at 3 would be huge.

    • @robg7843
      @robg7843 10 років тому

      SwingMan1938 you will see when he gets to the NBA. Melo used to play the same way when he was in Syracuse.

    • @Boiblu1914
      @Boiblu1914 10 років тому +2

      Billy Mack So... 'Melo used to average over 6 assists per game in Syracuse? They do not play the same way, brother. And this is not a knock on 'Melo.
      SwingMan1938 Diaw wasn't particularly athletic himself, but he was a bit quicker with the ball in his hands. The only thing about Anderson is he'll need to go to the right team for his talents to translate. As much as he's improved his shooting and scoring, he's still best on the ball - and Phoenix still has two of the best PGs in the West. Granted they can play off the ball, that's still too many ball-handlers.
      I think he'd be great for a team like the Cavs or Knicks (but we ain't got no draft picks). Kyrie Irving is not a true PG and Anderson has the potential to make him better at the 3 or even stretch 4 (he's 6'9", 230lbs with a 7'2" wingspan)

    • @SwingMan1938
      @SwingMan1938 10 років тому +1

      Zaviay Taylor I hear ya - was thinking of Kyle off the bench with two 2's (Gerald Green & Archie Goodwin - the logjam I mentioned above) as both Dragic & Bledsoe start together when healthy. Kyle would be the one running the offense while Green & Goodwin would wreak havoc on the perimeter with shooting (Green) and slashing (Goodwin).
      I'm looking to get back to a dominating 10-man rotation (and to keep both Bledsoe & Dragic's minutes below 35 each) like my Suns had in 2009-2010 with that Bench Mob and Kyle Anderson, IMO, would be the key and the prime stabilizer/anchor to make that happen.

    • @henrikavetisyan6695
      @henrikavetisyan6695 10 років тому +1

      Too slow for SF? What kind of criticism is that? The problems with most tweener forwards are that they can't shoot and aren't good ball handlers to play the 3 and are too small to play the 4. Being "slow" isn't a downside. Kyle Anderson can do everything as a player. He's a better version of Chandler Parsons. And much like Parsons, he's being overlooked over the stupidest reasons. If the guy can create a bucket for himself or others consistently, then he can play in the league. Anderson is the epitome of that.
