It ruled the pacific skies for 3 years. Then the Americans got hold of a Merlin v12 and turned the Zero into Swiss cheese. Btw when it’s released could you do the flackpanzer iv? It looks amazing.
I actually saw one of these surviving Japanese Mitsubishi A6M5 "ZERO's" at the Smithsonian Air And Space Museum in Washington D.C. The Mitsubishi A6M5 "ZERO" has always been one of my favorite World War 2 fighter planes.
these planes we're also used as a suicide air vehicles during the final months of the world war 2

None of american naval aircraft used even a modifcation of the Merlin, nor did newer engines change the tide of air supremacy in Pacific
Furthermore, I'd even say Zeke was obsolete even in 1942, beacuse what did keep A6M ahead of P-40 or F4F wasn't it's technology or construction, but rather Japanese pilots' skill.
These men were flying in combat from back in 1937, but most of Japanese AF's most experienced pilots (namely from Kaga and Akagi) were lost in Battle of Midway, and guess what, after 1942 Zeke wasn't regarded as such a deadly fighter anymore xd
