Even if you do get a guide, you’re going be inundated to the point it will actually ruin your experience by hustlers and scammers. We used to go every couple years because we loved it so much but we haven’t been in around seven years now. The last two times we went it was just the biggest ordeal getting around or doing anything because of the overwhelming and aggressive street hustlers and scammers. Quite a few few people that stopped going for that very reason and it’s really sad because I liked it. I always look forward to going.

Only drink bottled water. No salads No street food containing meat. Scuba dive in Sharm or Ras Muhammad. Train is fine… you follow the Nile and it’s villages.
WUT U TALKING ABOUT ALMOST NO ONE IN EGYPT USES DOLLARS OR EUROS WE ONLY USE POUNDS EVEN WITH VISA, ONE TIME I TRIED TO PAY IN DOLLARS, THEY SAID THEY ONLY ACCEPT POUNDS IN EGYPT
Pretty sure the entry visa must be purchased in usd or euros but for the visa extensions outside the airport at the migration office you gotta pay in Egyptian pounds
