Thank you. You just saved me hundreds of dollars in buying a new dryer and hours of work stumbling through this job with no guidance. Very informative video and well put together. Thank you.
Thank you soooo much for this video! My dryer was making a humming noise and I decided to replace the motor instead of spending over $1000 for a new dryer. I could not get the blower fan off of the motor so I ended up having to replace that as well. I still saved hundreds of dollars and only spent $200 in parts. Again, thank you so much for the step-by-step video -job well done!
Same issue so with the plastic nut for the fan became stripped and rounded out and was over tightened so I heated a 13/16 socket with a torch and reshaped the plastic nut to slightly smaller size after I that I used razor blade to shave off excess plastic at base of the nut.....to make sure the plastic nut didn’t round out again I froze in freezer for 30 minute the 13/16 socket I used to shape the plastic nut with....freezing the socket before trying to break torque in the plastic nut will help keep the plastic cold enough to refrain from rounded out the corners again allowing you to loosen your plastic fan blower nut.....after trial and error this is the only thing that worked and I was so happy after I didn’t have to buy a whole new fan assembly!
This was a great help , but unfortunately for us , someone had smoked on the part and we couldn't get the socket to move (the part in the fan you need to remove to pull the motor out then spin the fan) we literally had to break the plastic fan middle to get it out then use a vice , blow torch and only then did it come off.

Is this same for gas dryer and electric?
