I've been microneedling at home for a couple of years now with Dr Pen and in my view this is one of those treatments that if done right you can get better results doing at home than in a salon. I've had it done "professionally" once and it was a waste of money. Just do your research and start on the safest setting, use a numbing cream if you are doing it for collagen as it will hurt
In my case it takes a long time to heal. To fully recover it's about a week - this is when I can comfortably show my face to people. However bear in mind that I go in quite deep and bleed a lot during the procedure. Also I have a condition that means that wounds heal a little slower than with most people. Look up Claudia Glows on YT, she's been doing microneedling for over a decade and has some really good videos on it. Her healing process is also quicker than mine@@wei949
Hi, I just got a Dr. Pen as well and have a couple questions for you. How long did you set your needle length to? How often did you needle? And what did you apply following treatment?
@@deciopescada2354 There's no perfect depth since we all have a slight difference in skin thickness. What you are looking for is pinpoint bleeding, so start with 0.25mm and work your way up until you see pinpoint bleeding (extremely tiny drops of blood). 0.5mm is absolutely safe, and 1mm can be safe around the cheeks. Once a month is considered the standard frequency (you are actually seeing pinpoint bleeding). Use a moisturizer immediately following the treatment. Wounds seal up after 4-6 hr so you can cleanse after that, and of course, with a gentle cleanser with no actives. Wait at least 48 hr before using any actives.
You seemed to leave out the very important fact that you can only use a derma stamp a handful of times before the needles are dull and it is not longer suitable to use. Some companies offer replacement heads so you don’t have to buy the entire stamp each time, but I didn’t see anything like that on the ad page you linked. $99 every 10-15 uses is very, very expensive compared to the other nearly identical products out there for a fraction of the price and 90% of the same quality-gold plated titanium needles and all.
I can't find anything on the Banisher website saying it's made in the USA. I can't believe it's not just a re-branded Chinese product, essentially the same thing you can get on Amazon for $15. I can't see how a satisfactory, sterile set of needles won't accomplish the same thing -- it's a pretty simple mechanism. I ordered one of the adjustable stamps from Amazon, $15 seems like a fair price for a tool I need to replace after a handful of uses.
Hey Dr. Davin! So for the Banisher, I see that immediately after, you say to use the Banisher serum which has Vitamin C. Every time I read online, a lot of blogs and articles recommend not putting vitamin C on your skin until 48-72 hours after micro needling. Why is it fine in this case?
Hes just doing an ad. Vit C right after or suring microneedling has been known to cause granulomas, which are sometimes permanent. So yeah avoid it like the plague. The less u apply for the next 3 days post microneedling, the better honestly. Its sad that dr Lim has become a sellout, to the point of advising potentially dangerous things.
Lots of acne scars on my chin and upper lip, but I've always been scared to use micro needling just in case it stimulates hair grow, as I hear it's encouraged for use in hair loss, and I honestly don't need any help in that department.
My hubby has boxcar scars and the Banisher 2 faded them. It would only stimulate the scalp for hair growth. Same as it helps on producing more collagen
Dr. Lim as I was watching your video about microneedling, I decided I'm going to try to microneedle a couple areas of my face that need help with lines. In area #1 you mentioned that the stamper is medical grade and has titanium needles meaning a Sharper Edge and it's all as antibacterial. I went onto Banisher 2.0 website and they described the microneedle as "Patented gold plated Banisher micro stamping tool. Now to me the needles DO NOT seem to be the same type of needles you expect or were told. I am a bit cautious to purchase the set until I receive your approval. Thank you very much. Nina Maslov
It's the same GOLD PLATED TITANIUM bristles. My hubby's using it for years for skin maintenance. It faded his boxcar scars yrs ago. It's normal to hesitate.. that's why I love the Banisher 2.0, they have MONEY BACK GUARANTEE
READ THE FINE PRINT! Details say that each head can be used 8 times and the cost is $20.00 to replace each head. Here's the catch... If you're doing your "entire face", you can only use the cartridge 3-4 times. The 8 times usage is only if you're stamping "a small section of your face". If a company resorts to being sneaky about their products, I say no thank you!
