I am usually a very calm and patient person but Alicia, we NEED you to come back and use Subversive with this palette ASAP. Gigabyte? With these mattes or shimmers? Night Creature???? HURRY, GURL, RUN 🥺
I LOVE this palette and was so disappointed to see so many "meh" to bad reviews. I know you're much, much younger than I am, but those of use with crepey or hooded lids just don't have much use for metallics and need something a bit softer (shimmers vs metals) and a better matte to metal ratio. SO pleased to see you like this one. But you're the shadow queen (to me) so why should I be surprised!
I saw your review on this the other day after seeing multiple (not so great) reviews on the palette already, I kinda made the decision to not grab it. I was really surprised that you liked it. And it did look gorgeous on you! Your demo made me do a double take on the palette. Lol. Great point though, I think this is gonna be more up my alley since I’m preferring softer shimmers these days.
@@thatjedininja It's almost to the point if someone says, "oh the metallics are blah" I'm thinking I should try it - lol. I found the Patrick TA to be just too much for me.
Yes, and that’s why I feel ppl like Viseart shimmers as well. Which, funny I filmed a video comparing my other mauve palettes with this one, and I thought Violette was a great alternative.
@@aliciaarcher Yes, I love the formulas of Viseart, but I feel somehow their cool colors are slightly off for me. They seem to run too cool and are almost deadening on me, where the colors in Supreme Mauve are really just perfect for my taste, skin tone, undertone, etc. Anyway - glad to see a thumbs up from someone I respect!!
@@TheHoodedLid Hi there! Just to let you know, Patrick Ta's new rose palette is mature-lid friendly! I was surprised but it really is. And it's super gorgeous! Better than Supreme Mauves. I'm in my late 50s!
Really appreciate the way you do your videos. I love that you show us different rolls of you applying makeup. You're not rushing to get a "review" done, and I love hearing what you think, how you experience with the makeup and just playing with them. I've been rewatching some of your videos recently and I've been enjoying them. I'll put on some tomorrow when I paint my nails too :p ❤️
Thank you for that, friend! I appreciate it, as I feel anxious sometimes that I’m not getting a video up right away, but that doesn’t leave me time to experience the product. Happy to know that these breakdowns are helpful!
It's a very aesthetically pleasing palette. I don't want to buy it but thanks for showing us. Who would have thought that mauves would have trended so hard this spring
I appreciate that you take a colour story that you’re attracted to and show us how to make it work even when others aren’t wild about it. I am more into cool tones too, so I passed on the. Patrick Ta palette too.
Damnit!!! I was so hopeful that this palette would knock out of the park, but the shiny shiny shades just... Idk... Disappoints. At this point in the makeup market having to learn/work a shade is a downfall in terms of it's not hard to achieve a sparkly-arkly formula that meets the criteria but it's also easy to apply and stays in place... But I still would go with these colors rather Patrick Ta's just because his palette still isn't true rose. Btw, Sigma's new rose palette called New Mod worth the try, Alicia! It has lovely colors and would make a really good comparison with this AC palette and ND Retro palette as well!!!
I been waiting on a review on this palette. You came thru💜I love the colors. I brought the Patrick ta palette and had to get a refund it came busted ugh. I took the refund and purchased this instead. I’m a mauve fan💜
I really like that palette tbh, I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I’m wearing the palette today and LOVE the look. Makes the green in my hazel eyes pop like absolute crazy. It’s my favorite of the 3 and I own all 3. I was expecting it to be awful from the reviews but I love it.
@AliciaArcher someone replied to me to reach out to them and I’m pretty sure it is not really you! I just wanted you to be aware of it in case there is something you can do about it. It came from a WhatsApp contact that showed your picture.
The only shade in this palette that disappointed me was Stripped Down. I wanted more pigment and payoff, especially since it's such a pretty colour in the pan. Overall, I like this palette. The formulas are easy to work with using fingers and the colour story is so flattering. Looks especially lovely paired with Charlotte Tilbury's Push Up lashes mascara in Dream Pop. I'm also a fan of the packaging. It's simple but feels substantial and luxe. Now, I'm not sure it's worth full price since it can be pretty easily duped, but on sale it's a definite win, IMO.
I’m so glad I picked up the Patrick Ta Rose toned eyeshadow palette and finally had a chance to use it the other day. Absolutely absolutely lovely. I think I enjoy it way worse than I would enjoy this mauve palette…
I’m glad you said it….I’m so rosed-out too! Between all the rose palettes, and the orangey browns…I don’t know which one I’m more sick of 😂. But those eyeshadows look amazing on you! Every damn eyeshadow look you do is amazing! I wish I could apply eyeshadow as well as you 😩 I have tried and tried but I just can’t get them to look very well
Maybe try a cream shadow underneath. That may help the sparkly colors adhere better. A suggestion would be Laura Mercier Caviar stick in Blossom or Bobbi Brown in Shell for those light sparkly shades that want to fall out.
This palette suits you so much. All the looks were fantastic. I tend to avoid mauves unless they’re neutral leaning or very dark. They have this amazing ability to make me look like a corpse. Or like I’ve had the flu. Or both. So none of these mauve palettes are for me but I’m loving watching you play with them. Edit: I also need to go back to school for grammar
Lol I can relate to the nail polish thing. As soon as I get a chip or a break I’m ready to take the whole color off and do them over. This is a pretty palette.
Alicia!!!! Your swatches are selling it to me !!! Originally I was intrigued by Gemini rose by melt & the new mod by sigma only , but your swatches are showing me THE colors ( I’m closer to your skin tone that’s why ) ! I just paused the video after the swatches to comment this & also I just realized that this mauve palette is so similar to ND Lila minus the blue purple!!!!! I’d love to see a show down between them if possible !!✨✨ I appreciate your work & you enthusiasm for makeup 💜✨
Oh noooo... I didn’t know I wanted this until now. Darn it! I have been able to resist previous palettes knowing that I have others like it and of luxury brand quality. This is tempting... I have to wait for a sale. In addition to the new melt Gemini ii palette, I also bought an LH cosmetics palette and four sample sets from ritual de fille... the soots are divine!
I have it but didn't get a chance to use it yet. At first glance, the first palette I thought about was Kevyn Aucoin Nude Pop and ND Lila. Those palettes automatically make me think of Mel (she convinced me to buy Nude Pop) and you (you convinced me to buy Lila). I love mauve and rose themes. I'm afraid I have too many of these palettes to ever buy anymore of them 😕 I'm saying no to all future rose and mauve palettes 🙅♀️
I’m one of the ones who returned this palette… 😬 I loved the color story, but I didn’t love the quality in this like I loved Supreme Nudes. I also try to stay away from shadows with PET glitter, and that’s the first ingredient listed in Risqué.
Again such a wonderful video as well as the swatches, thanks dear Alicia!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩We don't have this brand here in Europe, well it's possible to buy it from the Netherlands at London Loves Beauty for quite high prices, which i was willing to do for the more warm toned one, i love that palette, but warm tones (well not to warm/orange) and neutral tones look most nice on me. And from this colourstory i still have quite some eyeshadow. But beautiful, thanks and have a great day!!!😘😘😘😘
I have had my eye on this palette but haven’t picked it up. I just think the size is perfect and the looks can be soft and easy-nothing jarring for every day. I also appreciate your take on the shimmers, good perspective-you’re not saying it’s just an ok palette but for the consumer to consider personal preferences. Thanks for the balanced review.
Thank you for watching! I know there are people out there who prefer this formula. Whether it be the majority or not, I think it worth considering if you like the razzle dazzle effect.
Oh man. I almost got this, because I've been waiting for an Artist Couture palette, but its SO similar to the Vieve Muse palette, which I die hard love (those mattes, I die) and semi-similar to a few others I own. But I did just get the AC Caliente palette for super cheap and that was the one I wanted the most because I love hot orange warm palettes. So I am okay for now. But this one is definitely on my radar.
Alicia, as always your eye looks are so pretty, and you demonstrate the potentials in all of your new eye palettes videos. This AC palette is beautiful in the story. You say the shadows are drier. Would you think that these textures are similar to the Natasha Denona's Lila palette? I mean it being an older palette, ND's sparkly shades are less creamy too (vs her later palettes)?
As always, a wonderful analysis and plenty of looks. I always review your videos because they help me with ideas for how to use a palette pulling fewer colors but getting a much prettier look. I bought the Patrick Ta palette, looked at it in natural light, and concluded that it is too warm for me. I also thought the formulas looked a bit heavy. I'm liking lighter, sheerer feeling formulas like Hindash these days. So Rose is on her way back but I kept the Supreme Mauves. I use Mac Prep and Primer eyeshadow primer with the mauves and it is tacky enough to hang onto those sparkles. If you've got Natasha Denona Retro and Mothership VI Midnight Sun, you've probably got a near match for most of the mattes and shimmers in Patrick Ta rose palette, in color if not in exact formula.
Yessss someone that is finally reviewing this palette. I haven't had a chance to review this palette yet. I should today 💜 I'm disappointed it's not like Supreme Nudes
I think it comes down to which shadow formula works best on your lid texture. Supreme Nudes has a great, smooth formula, but this has the dazzle effect that’s fun as well.
This seems to be the colors and look that I wish the Natasha Danona retro palette was. Some of the darker colors in her palette are just two red and two vampy for me and I do prefer a cooler toned palette.
Picked it up and I like the color story I don’t like the formula fortunately I was able to dupe every shade with palettes I already own that have better formulas so I’ll be returning it. I’m kinda sad about it because this was my first palette from this brand but may I’ll try the nudes or bronze
Thanks Alicia, for your as always, thorough and interesting review. I grabbed this palette the moment it was available on Sephora, haven't used it yet, but thank you for this review ,can't wait to try it !!! Your awesome my friend !! ☺️
I consider mauve a neutral. It's a desaturated pink. How warm or cool it pulls depends on how much grey vs brown it has? Idk, sometimes what other people call pink & rose look peach/terracotta to me. Mauve is more of a pink leaning beige or taupe imo :) I prefer mauves & cooler pinks as(red-violets) eye shadow shades since warmer pinks/reds look like inflammation around the eyes (at least on me) I always look twice at palettes with this type of color story & have to remind myself I am swimming in these shades already lol & need to slow my roll.

Like a dummy, I bought both Patrick Ta and the Artist Couture palettes during the Sephora sale. I went a little crazy with my purchases. The Patrick Ta gets dark super fast, and it isn't that wearable for me. The Supreme Mauves???? VERY WEARABLE. Yes, I totally agree on the sparkle shades in this palette: they could have worked on the formula more to make it perform better, and could have made them creamier. This was my first AC purchase, and I don't regret it. This also was my first Patrick Ta purchase, and yes, I do regret that purchase. PT's palette swatches like a dream, but on the eyes, no. They make my eyes "cave like" in no time. Even my husband gave me a second, not so good, glance. The mattes, however, perform very well. Honestly, the best match for me are the mattes, plus a little of the sparkles if I want, but then! I grab for CT's new highlighter Pillow Talk face and eye palette. That little palette! It works wonders for brightening up my whole look: brow bone, inner corner, center of the lid, plus highlight. Wow. I reach for it almost every single day now.
I agree! Supreme Mauves might not be the most impressive swatch wise, but I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the looks from the last few days. Strip Down is a tough shade, but that taupe-mauve color is one of my favs. And it lasted on me all day yesterday! My lids still looked like shiny disco balls after 12 hours 🤣 I think it helps to apply another dose of primer before the sparkle shades.
@@aliciaarcher I totally get it. 💖 I totally regretted not using Pat's Artistry Wand before application of the sparkles. I think they would have stayed put a little longer. You single handedly made me fall in love with taupe-mauve shades. You are a bright jewel, Alicia. 💞Thank you for all you do for us.

You single handedly made me fall in love with taupe-mauve shades. You are a bright jewel, Alicia. 💞Thank you for all you do for us.
Nice but im sticking with my pat mcgrath palettes i have all the divine roses and i dont see anything much different
Rose palettes aren’t for me, but you created gorgeous looks! I definitely have supreme nudes on my radar
Good Video as Usual

Hi Alicia, would you compare this with AB Modern Renaissance??? the color story looks similar.
I would say Modern Renaissance has more berry and orange tones. I would consider them to be completely different.
@@aliciaarcher ok thank you
I returned mine after hearing not so good feedback from other YTs…. Still watching your review tho! Lol
Hahahaha! Thank you, friend!
Look great on you, but had to return it because I couldn't use colours, not because they were bad...😂💜💜
That’s understandable! I appreciate you watching, friend!
You refilmed bc you felt your nail polish wasn't as pristine as necessary...HAHAHAHAHA! 🤣
It was UNACCEPTABLE 🤣🤣🤣
Juvia's Place is not dry.
