I have an Emotiva BasX S8 which is a down firing- rear ported sub. It’s 8 inches... it’s not all that much but when it hits on the higher tones like 45-50 hz range it’s more then enough. Now on the lower side, towards the 40hz range there’s so much port noise. I’ve tried reducing it by maybe making the crossover lower that way my fronts get more so it’s not overloading the sub but when I have that graving of bass that you can feel in your soul, I want to hit hard lol. Any suggestions on how to reduce port noise?
Michael Collins I’m not very smart with speakers but I’ve had a lot of issues with port noise. I would say either make the port bigger, or maybe make it a sealed box.
