Better yet just wear running shoes. Lighter (makes big difference after mile 5) and plenty of traction for trails. Downside is they are not great for off trail exploring however. Looking forward to doing some portion of this!
Glad you got real hiking boots. 😬 We used our sneakers for hundreds of miles, but have slowly got everyone hiking shoes (family of 8). We have got Merrells and Keens (and I have Salomon boots because I carry our baby and don’t want to slip).
I knew what this was about before i even watched it because nearly the same thing happened to us a decade ago. We were day-tripping from Yellowstone, ended up at the Jenny Lake Visitor's center at noon. Decided, 2.5 miles? Psh, easy! Why pay for a ferry? Then as the day went on we were like....when are we ever going to get to the darn Falls (we realized we missed "Hidden Falls" and were already halfway to Cascade Canyon.) Well, we thankfully turned around and hiked back lickity-split and by the grace of God were able to catch the very last ferry. We were out of water (a real first) and starving. We ended up eating at the Marina where we both were about turning green because we were very low on....all nutrients. It was such a weird experience. We're going again in 2 weeks and you bet this is on our bucket list to do "correctly" this time.
That wasn’t drone footage in the Tetons was it? Cause flying drones is illegal in national parks. FYI. Great info. I’m not a big hiker but I’m headed out their for a few months to do some hiking
Haha, yeah oddly enough it's pretty delicious on its own. I started drinking it black, to cut out sugary creamers and stuff. It's become a default when traveling if I can't find anything local. What's your go to coffee of choice? Always on the lookout for a better brew 👍
Good advice! Kudos to you both… I also heard that if you catch the first boat of the day- it is half price. I’ll be out there in July.
Hopefully you get a chance to ride the boat and not mess up like we did, lol. Let us know how it is! The hike is epic though! 10/10!
First ferry of the day leaves at 7:00 am-when I went a few years ago, the first one of the day was $5 if you paid cash.

Great tip! We'll have to try that on our next trail! Hope you get the chance to try this trail though; it was pretty epic!

The Merrells made such a huge difference. We love them, and so do our feet 😀
Ferry service is seasonal
We got lucky that it was running, but just poor planning on our part and completely missed it sadly. But gives us a reason to revisit! :)

oh wow! sounds like a similar experience! "hidden falls" was easily missed for sure! How was the follow up trip?

Just some stock footage, but good tip :) Thanks for the support and hope your trip there was awesome!
Dunkin donuts tho? Lol

Was the major mess up the audio? It doesn't match up on most of the video.
Sadly no, but thanks for the heads up. New channel here so all feedback is helpful! 🙌
