looks like there are a lot of us with the same problem.i won a demolition derby at walthemstow back in 1971 / 2 but all pictures are gone ..its a shame but i'll keep looking
It has been pointed out to me that Spedeworth did put on some Banger Meetings before 1971 , as far back as 1968 in fact but these were one offs and very few and far between.
nice to see some old footage i started racing bangers at ringwood 1969 one race we had after the stock cars had ended figure of eight or just demolition always 50 cars plus and very large crowds great days
I would dearly love to know if anyone has some cine film of Clandeboye stadium in Bangor, Northern Ireland from the late 1960's.....i have never seen as much as a photo from those meetings. It would be magical for me to see some footage from there. Thank you for posting this great footage..fantastic!!
thankyou very very much for posting this . it is a crying shame the footage is not available on dvd . do you know of anyone with cine footage from tracks up our way in the midlands? i would love to see late 1960's early 1970's footage from tracks such as coventry , ullesthorpe, dadlington, hednesford, long eaton, brafield , great gidding, and standlake when it first opened .
Basically thats the edited version of the Videos but I`ve only chopped out the duff bits, ie. ground, sky, feet and any blurry bits so you havent missed anything.
Hi WesDon`t think your uncle Nick`s there but he did go on to be a fig. 8 World Champ as I remember. Spoke to him about my own racing many years ago, a real nice guy.
I so proper enjoyed this,Do you have the whole meeting on tape at ringwood out of intrest? or is just clips you have? if so any chance in a copy? haha would love that.
does anybody out there have footage of the yateley bandits or kinson cowboys in there hayday rebels, waders, falcons oh blimey those were the days, i used to live in guildford & went over to tongham every thurs night to watch oh i loved it & never dreamed that years later fate has moved me to tongham where sadly its gone now, well we now have rushmore but its not quite the same.
Sorry Colin, can`t remember the tracks but they all came from the youtube library when I edited it together. If it was the right length and I liked it , it got used. Glad you liked...........
