I believe it because One Piece is not the typical Shonen battle manga. Oda care about fight lees then other Mangaka. Fights are base a lot on match up just as much as power and how something match up isn't always something that can be clearly seen as the reader. Example Mr.3's wax-wax powers Vs Magellen's Venom-Venom powers.
@@Ax1oM11oo You guys act like Yonkos are untouchable unless they're fighting other Yonkos lmfao. There is no such thing as Yonko power level, even Bon Cley could be a Yonko if he had the influence, it's about power and connections, not strength.
why is Mihawk so hard to powerscale? because you're not supposed to know exactly how powerful he is yet, the same thing was going on with Doffy in marineford.
everyone on Marineford are holding back including the Marines and WB Pirates. Marines didn't want to destroy their HQ and WB didn't want to hurt his crew by the world ending power goru goru no mi.
Mihawk doing that basic maths you see in exam papers. "If my blade shockwave moves at 200m/s and it takes 20 seconds for Jozu to deflect that shit he's about 4km away" Damn Whitebeard is tall.

Why I think Dracule Mihawk is Yonko Level (1) "World's Strongest Swordsman" Literally means Strongest of all the Swordsman. And As a Matter of Fact, Shanks is a Swordsman. So, For all we know, Mihawk might be stronger than Shanks. But, I consider them as equals. He takes full honour of being the World's Strongest Swordsman and NOBODY doubts his Title. Which means, He Earned that Title. (2) Oda called him a "Legend among Men" along with Whitebeard and Shanks in SBS Volume 73. (3) Black Blade Yoru In the Entire Series, only 2 People has attained the Black Blade, Mihawk and Sword God Ryuma. Shanks, Rayleigh, Oden, Samurai Gorosei and all other Swordsman failed to Reach this Level of Mastery of Swordsmanship. Thus, Mihawk's Swordsmanship is Superior that all of them and the Only One comparable to him is Ryuma. (4) He Trained Relentlessly for many years challenging more and more powerful fows, until he had no more worthy challengers ( Vivre Card Databook) (5) He was a Rival of Red Hair Shanks. But lost interest in fighting him after Shanks lost an Arm. (6) "He looks Forward to the day a Swordmaster will emerge to surpass his Rival, Red Hair Shanks" ( Vivre Card Databook ). Clearly stated that Mihawk wants to Fight someone Stronger than Shanks. In other words, Someone on Shanks' Level isn't Good enough, the Opponent has to be Stronger than Shanks. (7) Mihawk is the End Game Opponent for Zoro. When Luffy becomes the King, Zoro should Atleast be Yonko Level (8) Kozuki Oden scarred Kaido with his O Wazamono Blade Enma. Mihawk has Yoru, which is Superior to Enma in Every way. It is a Black Blade Unlike Enma and It is a Saijo O Wazamono Graded Blade unlike Enma. So, It's Obvious, Mihawk can Damage Kaido more than Oden could. (9) Observation Haki His Epithet is "Hawkeye" and before that, his Epithet was Supposed to be "Clairvoyant". And the Meaning of Clairvoyant is "A person who claims to have a supernatural ability to perceive events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact". And with this, I believe Mihawk will have the Highest Mastery of Observation Haki than Anyone in the Verse. (10) Mihawk was also famous Before the Great Pirate Era Started.
I have long believe 9 even before I even found out about observation Haki, it was in his name. All of these points among more is why I believe he top brass
He’s 1 of 4 people that have a title that refers to the entirety of One Piece - all of which we regard as at least Yonko level (Dragon, Whitebeard, Kaido) Completely unscathed at Marineford and used no named moves Travels the GL and NW by himself with no help or fear of getting sank (In NW you either join or go against Yonko to survive) Was already famous at the time of Roger’s execution I think he’s Yonko level without a doubt. Anyone placing him below Admiral level is just pure disrespect
His title is clearly different from the others though. While those guys' titles includes every single person that is known in the entirety of the verse, Mihawk's title is only relevant to a subset of people: those who only fight with swords. It's like whoever is the greatest sniper in the world. They would be the best among snipers, but that doesn't automatically place them at the level of the very top dogs in the world.
Swordsmen and swords are common in the world of OP, therefore making that subset a very large majority of people in one piece! One of those people being a yonko "shanks", who mohawk was said to have constant duels with to the point where it was considered a competition! So far we've only seen shanks use a sword as a primary form of fighting, so it's safe to say mihawk is on yonko level! Especially given how advanced haki works that will give him the edge "no pun intended" over DF users!
@@thatdude5990 Guns are also common, maybe even more so. Shanks and Big Mom use swords, but Big Mom clearly has strength beyond just swordfighting. Also, advanced haki gives you the ability to fight DF users, but not an "advantage", especially when the top fighters all have it too.
I love power scaling talks. Not because of whether or not someone agrees with me, or even if I have thought about a characters power. It's more that I love hearing how someone else interpreted the story I love.
yeah. but i think i would lie if i say it's not also that im simply interested to know who is stronger.^^ i mean if im really only interested in different interpretations. i could also talk about topics unreleated to ''power levels''. i think every human has specific instincts which affects their interests and behavior unconsciously.
Cause he likes to downplay Roger's right hand man when the evidence speaks for itself. Nobody bothers Rayleigh even when he has an active bounty and the World Government knows where he is.
I think Mihawk refrains from fighting Shanks because after losing (presumably) his dominant arm, in Mihawk's eyes Shanks as a swordsman "died". While Shanks' "strength/power" might not be lower (quite contrarily, it's probably way higher) his "skill" as a swordsman is compared to his past self, and Mihawk's primary reason for duking it out with Shanks in the past, was as far as we can gather, for the sake of the title of "World's Greatest Swordsman", thus the guy Mihawk wanted to fight and compete with was not the pirate Red Haired Shanks but the Shanks the swordsman. That is at least how I am making sense of the whole situation.
Another way to view it is that a duel would hold no value due to the fact that it's a 'loss' whether you win or lose. If you win against a swordsman with one-arm, it's unimpressive because he only had one arm. If you lose, then you lost to a swordsman with only one arm. You basically can't even win. There's nothing you can really 'prove' in a duel like that.
I have a very similar point, when Mihawk duels Vista he doesn't use any "move" (like titled move etc...) so maybe HE doesn't use any other abilities than swordsmanship in his duels. Like pure swordsmanship. In which case Zoro's moves don't count as being outside of swordsmanship because they're all based around that. Don't know if that makes sense, it does to me at least.
What? All jozu did was use his powers plus vista was hanging with mihawk.. while a nerfed friendly big mom destroyed kaidos number 2 in only two hits and ancient zoans have some of the strongest durability as ulti survived a combo attack from big moms homies
@@twotimes2648 Vista was hanging with Mihawk? The same Vista who used a name attacked whereas Mihawk used none? The same Mihawk who told Vista he just wanted to see his techniques? The same Mihawk who outright stated you don't hunt a rabbit with a cannon? Mihawk does not go all out against weaker opponents. This isn't speculation. He said that straight up.
World's Strongest Man: Whitebeard World's Strongest Creature: Kaido World's Strongest Swordsman: Mihawk If the other two holding the major titles of World's strongest man and creature respectively and we know how godly powerful they are, then why should we not assume that the other person holding the same tag or title is not top tier.
Of Course he's top tier. Zoro is trying to get there. The story is all about the straw hats. The Pirate King crew is exempt. That leaves all the rest of the pirates. Mihawk is the top of the "Commander" level guys. Luffy has to be stronger than the Yonko at the end. Zoro has to be stronger than all the commanders at the end. Mihawk will be overtaken by Shiryu, who will be defeated by Zoro. When the Straw Hats become the strongest crew, Luffy will be above the Yonko and Zoro will be on Yonko level.
@@kernalbert4939 Both Luffy and Zoro will need to be stronger than the Yonkou at the end. How would Zoro be the strongest swordsman in the world but be weaker than a Yonkou that happens to be a swordsman?? If anyone exists at the end of OP
@@mad-counter7393 That's what I said, The Pirate King Crew is above all the other pirates. At the end of the series. Luffy will be above. Zoro will be Yonko level. The Yonkos are not even. Whitebeard was the strongest. Zoro will be the strongest of the Yonko level dudes.
There's not a lot for Dragon to take out of context. The difficulty in power-scaling Mihawk comes from the ease with which people could come to drastically different conclusions from the same scenes.
Why the fuck did I think the same thing this morning before even hopping online? I'm like "The man been to Raftel and it's not like places move (Excluding Zou... smartasses 😑) so he knows the whereabouts so to speak. Buggy have a unique devil fruit just like Luffy, at first look its just look weak compare to the other devil fruit but look at how Luffy use his power to defeat the other strong opponent. Buggy just too lazy to learn how to use his power properly,
we have oden here clashing with yonkos and getting high praise from them....oden a character that his battle strength come 100% from swordsmanship and being a swordsman....but even he wasn't able to become a black blade user...the highest known tier of being a swordman imo anyone putting mihawk below that level is in denial
@@BragoDAce character like WB , big mom fujitora are not really swordsman thou....that's why i specifically mentioned oden strength coming 100% from being a sword user all the character above ...big part of their strength come from their fruit give fujirora a stick insteade of a sword and he would still be able to do 90% of his things
@vishal tomar you know if we use your logic...that every character who used a sword at one point is a swordsman regardless if they have a broken devil fruit or not...then this vid is uselees by that logic mihawks is stronger than big mom , WB , shanks , fujitora etc...mihaw is second only to kaidou lol there's characters who's strength come entirely from using swords....mihawk is the strongest from that category character like big mom and WB are not on their current level of strength cuz they use swords it's not that complicated
Tbh, i think Mihawk will end up having some of the strongest Observation Haki based on how he has been portrayed, and the fact that Oda originally was going to label his epithet as "Clairvoyent", but decided against it, likely to not reveal it early on
2 things about mihawk people always forget. 1. that his title, the "worlds strongest" title, holds just as much weight as the title of yonkou why? because only 3 people in history has ever held the "worlds strongest" title. kaidou, whitebeard, and guess who? mihawk. 2. whitebeard himself has stated in the manga that the daily duels between mihawk and shanks were legendary... yea, whitebeard said that...dont remember? look it up.
Mihawk by all means at this point is obviously on the same tier as Whitebeard Shanks Big Mom and Kaido. There could be different levels in one tier but they are all around each other in power.
@@krillin1081 The point is Whitebeard is probably the best source you could have gotten in terms of someone judging power, since he himself is one of the strongest. The fact that he calls the battles legendary at that point straight up confirms Shanks was still a monster back then and that mihawk was better then that since he is ‘The world’s greatest swordsman’ Not saying Mihawk is stronger than shanks atm but it begs the question just how much stronger did each of them get? For all we know mihawk could have stayed stagnant or flat out got stronger just like shanks.
Power scaling in One Piece is kind of impossible because we haven’t seen most the the top tier people in an actual fight but we just know that they’re powerful because of context
Just because a powerful character uses a sword does not make the a great swordsman. For example if Kaido picked up a sword and one shot Zoro does that nake him the better awordsman? No it just means he was overwhlemingly more powerful and HAPPENED to be using a Sword. Thats it. Big mom is not a great swordsman, shes horrificly strong but she is not a swordsman. There is a difference between strength and skill.
Yeah, it's always bothered me that people seem to equate best swordsman as strongest person that uses a sword, and I think certainly it's more about efficiency and precision of technique than raw muscle and speed. It's like when we first see Mihawk deflect bullets. It's not just his speed that's impressive, but that he does it with minimal necessary movements. That's what it means to be the best, minimum effort for maximum output. Raw strength is just a vehicle to achieving that.
@@HSuper_Lee I wholeheartedly agree, people cannot differentiate strength and technique. They look at things through such a narrow lens. For example rayleigh uses a sword, so did Roger, so does Shanks and so does Big Mom all these characters are probably( with a grain of salt) more powerful than Mihawk. But that does not make them better swordsman because they happen to carry a sword. Glad someone else is capable of seeing the distinction. :)
@@HSuper_Lee Its always bothered me that people make up terms like "best swordsman" to make their point instead of using "strongest swordsman" as is stated in the Manga.
@@rizvan1632 So, I don't speak Japanese. I know the word they use to describe Mihawk is Saikyō, which can be translated as "strongest" but I've also heard it translated as "greatest." While similar, there are different connotations. So if you understand Japanese better than I, you could be correct in strongest being a better translation, but if so, then I'd contest the interpretation of that meaning Mihawk is the strongest man who uses a sword, and I'd argue we need to assess what qualifies someone as a swordsman.
Tbh after seeing Kaido and bigmom in action i will put him on yonko level. I can totally see Mihawk one shotting gear 4 luffy with a named attack. easy
It's all fun and games till Luffy hits his prime and the card is going to be reversed, according to Zoro fans, Mihawak was created in the story to get his ass beat by Zoro, and that's basically his only purpose in the story, and I gotta say they spittin big FAX my g. 🤷🏽♂️
Oda even stated that he was a legend. He was put in the same list consisting of shanks, whitebeard and rayleigh. Even WB acknowledged the legendary fight between shanks and mihawk.

Why everyone predicts mihawk will loose before fighting zoro. He and zoro have deep connection and that bond has meaning. It will be cheapened if zoro has to fight someone like shillew. I dont think oda would so that. Plus shillew has a devil fruit now and judging the nature of it i would say he is sanji's opponent, not zoro's.

@Jack Mahne it just doesnt make sense unless mihawk is a secret crew of shanks and blackbeard does something dirty like using an ancient weapon because shiryu aint beating shanks rival lol
@Jack Mahne hmm makes sense maybe if shiryuu also wants to be the strongest swordsman then maybe thats a good possibility and if he can beat him fair and square hell use a dirty tactic and maybe shiryuu will get his sword or something but that would be a waste of a good character
After reading 987, Mihawk > Kaido. - Mihawk was mentioned in a SBS to be legends along with Whitebeard and Shanks. - Shanks gained notoriety from challenging a young Mihawk.
"legend among men" doesn't mean shit in terms of power, Luffy is most definitely a legend at this point, even though currently he is extremely weak compared to the other Yonkos.
I would like to add one more thought to the "Measure the distance between us" line. It could have nothing to do with the strength of either man, but the quality of men between them. If Mihawk could throw that attack and force Whitebeard to react then, their only "Ace" was Whitebeard. Meaning at that point all he has to do is keep throwing an attack he throws casually. If Diamond Jozu hadn't stopped it, it would have been Whitebeard stopping it. So in summation, the true distance between them covers the distance over people they would have to travel to reach him.
-strongest swordsman(kaido and Whitebeard having the other “strongest” titles) -the only known black blade user alive(even oden didn’t make his blades black) -clashing with shanks equally -Mihawk and shanks are the goals of Zoro and luffy and the first long-running antagonists to be introduced -his original epithet was meant to be clairvoyance suggesting god-tier observation haki -to be a good swordsman you need to master goken...so black blades and this suggests that his armament haki is off the charts too Mihawk clearly is yonko level.nobody can deny it
I think you missed one interpretation for Mihawk's attack aimed at Whitebeard. To me it seemed like he simply had no idea how strong he was in relation to the Yonko. None of them are pure swordsman (anymore), so Mihawk doesn't fight them. He's been at a lonely throne for ages and has lost all sense of where he's at in relation to the rest of the world. PS: I usually don't like power scaling much because the debates are often like politics on twitter. If the discussions are more level-headed I'm usually fine with it. It's an integral part of the story after all. What drew me to this video however, is not necessarily the power scaling itself, but more Mihawk as a character. And when one analyzes his character you see that he's basically defined by his power. Therefor a power scaling video on Mihawk equals a character analysis for Mihawk, which is much more interesting to me.
I generaly avoid power scaling video because of obvious bias you touched on, but holy shit did I enjoy your points and method! Nice one, I'll look forward for your next discussions :)

Vokaru starking yeah he was shanks rival when shanks wasn’t even close to his power right now lmao Shanks became a yonko years later so he actually got stronger only with one arm Mihawk gets bodied by Yonkos
This makes a lot of sense. Just imagine Mihawk defeat Vista and continue on chasing Luffy, its over. But then again, Mihawk realising Luffy power made him wanna stay back and watch how “ fate “ turns out, and that makes his fight with Vista meaningless, even though he’s gonna win eventually
Enough with wankers saying "Shanks didn't use Haki"!! For fuck sake nobody said that their fight was solely based on swordfights cuz if it were, and given it ended up as a tie, shanks would be known as the strongest swordsman as well along with Mihawk.
Is there some mystery with Mihawk's eyes? Cause I feel like he has a hidden power that we haven't seen in One Piece, yet. Also, his eyes are very similar to Imus's eyes.
@Heyjose Unless its something completely different with what we know so far it would make most sense to me to explain Imus eyes with extremely advanced observation Haki which allowes him to see far into the future. Simulare to Shyarly but stronger. Maybe Mihawks eyes have also changed because of strong observation haki but in a different kind. While Imus and Shyarlys is more about the big picture over a long time Mihawks haki gives him a very detailed view on what is going and about to go on in the heat of the moment during a fight. Basicly like ultra instinct from DBS. It also seems unlikely that Zoro wont open his eye again. Its too much of a mysterie to just be closed for the rest of the story. So if advanced observation haki really can physicly change your eyes maybe his eye actually got destroyed so that he no longer can see with it but it does still work for observation haki. Probably even better than his good eye since the blined one can no longer be used to actually see and therefor has completely focused on observation haki.

Simple argument is that if Mihawk wasn't at least admiral level it wouldn't make sense to not show his full power till now. He has too much build up to not be powerful.
I think when mihawk said he was trying to gauge the distance at marineford he simply meant how easy is it going to be to reach whitebeard. This is then answered by jozu who blocks the attack showing that in order to reach whitebeard u gotta go through the commanders first, honestly i take that scene as more of a way for oda to introduce jozu than a show of mihawks power.
"I don't take the "World's Greatest" titles lightly, those are there for a reason." Boy, after you said this if you don't put Kaido in the number 1 spot...
We all know mihawk is those type of people who equally fight their enyme, especially when he fought zoro his qoutes were "i dont goo all out by hunting just a rabbit" soo... he's probably yonkou who likes to fight people equally
Mihawk isn't difficult to power scale....people making him difficult to power scale due to character favoritism. It's clear that he should be somewhere around Yonko level OR between Admiral and Yonko level strong. *He's clearly not afraid of Shanks and he stepped up to face WhiteBeard, wanting to measure the difference in strength between them.*
SweetScienceAPA Mihawk is on that level obviously since he is looking for someone to surpass his current rival shanks. Just because he doesn’t have a crew or territory Like any yonko has doesn’t mean he can’t be just as strong as them individually.
SweetScienceAPA did you hear what brago said in the video? Oda confirmed shanks has lost no strength due to losing his arm. He remains the same in terms of strength. That alone confirmed mihawk is still just as strong as any of the current yonko individually. And no it isn’t head cannon he said I’m looking for a person to surpass my rival shanks. So stop down playing Mihawk strength and accept the fact he is the world’s greatest swordsman for a reason. P.s Mihawk told vista let’s fight at another time when there is honor on the line. Since I’m the war Mihawk casually destroyed Mihawk rose sword style attack.
mate honestly....this is a great video. Very well handled and covered! I tried a few years ago of having a full power scale list of one piece characters...frustrating endeavour. Well done dude
It’s not that difficult if you respect the title Oda gave him he should be seen as the strongest character with a sword. Shanks the person that gets pretty much the most hype from the fanbase(I love that man) is undeniably a swordsman and was even Mihawks rival at the very least you can’t have him below Shanks he’s either equal or above
Mihawk didn’t lose everytime dumbass they wonnan even amount of times goofy i thought that was clear when mihawk went to shank’s territory and shanks said wanna settle the score
Tbh I think making tier lists is way easier than ranking characters because characters on the same tier should always have a 50/50 chance of beating one another
It isn't difficult to scale Mihawk. Just put him up there with the Yonkos. He technically is rival to one. Plus he doesn't even have a crew but travel all around the world solo. And he has no scars. So yeah. I'd place Mihawk on Yonko lvl. Whenever Mihawk stands up to fight, everyone is in awe. Even Admirals.
Victor Ampo did you not hear him say that Oda stated Shanks did not lose strength when he lost his arm because he trained all of his Haki to probably the highest you can achieve, that’s the reason Shanks is the only yonko that is not a DF user so sea water nor sea stone can hurt him or contain him which is a serious threat to anyone that tries to fight him
@@roloyoung763 Still is rival to Shanks. He stopped fighting Shanks when he lost his arm. Why? Idk. But do you think Mihawk suddenly got weaker? Hell no. But what I do know is Mihawk is bored with most opponents which is why he is waiting for Zoro. I don't believe an Admiral can beat him one on one. Nobody even gave Mihawk no scars. Not even in the new world. He was famous before Shanks as well. Everyone stops in awe when he is about to fight. So yea. I'd placed the World's Strongest Swordsman up there with a Yonko. There is no evidence that shows he isn't Yonko lvl.
Mihawk would be able to equally match up with any of the admirals. He's a long range haki user that can deal powerful blows in melee range, too. The yonkou are probably on the same level. Big mom should be an easy target, Kaido might be difficult, Blackbeard is probably too much, and Shanks is likely on his own level. When it comes to Whitebeard I'm guessing the old man could and would parry all of Mihawk's attacks at range, and in close range Whitebeard would simply win due to sheer strength. Strength wise I'd say Mihawk is in the range from #3 to #5. Blackbeard is #1 or #2 currently. Then Kaido #2 to #4. Rayleigh #1 to #4. The wildcard in the top 5 would have to be one of the admirals.
Since I began watching One Piece and went on to power scale the characters as I saw the anime, I always thought that Mihawk’s title of “best swordsman” doesn’t mean he is stronger than EVERYONE else that uses a sword. We always saw Roger with a sword, but it wasn’t until recently in the Manga when we first saw him using it. Does that make him a swordsman in the world of One Piece? That means that Roger held the title of “best swordsman” until he died? Then Mihawk got it 22 years ago? He sure wasn’t better than Rayleigh 22 years ago.. so did he fought him sometime during those years to get the title? Well.. No. Rayleigh, Roger, King, Jack, Shanks.. None of them are swordsmen the way that Mihawk, Zoro and Vista are. They are not delved into the art of the swordsmanship. They are just strong characters that use swords as their weapon of choice. At least to me, thats the safest way to go about Mihawk’s title and power level in the anime. He is the “best swordsman”, not the strongest guy that uses a sword. Edit: grammar.
Lol really love this video, enjoyed it a very much. I'm a big mihawk fan (and Rayleigh!) (was thinking about mihawk before I opened youtube and seen this video) but agree that we just don't know enough to place him. Now that he isn't a shichibukai we might see more action from him to know more about him! (hopefully, but it ain't gonna be for a while I suspect)
uhhh that's not what he says. He says that we the watchers have not seen something more impressive than Mihawk in his debut since Don Krieg's diamond fists
I just realized Mihawk has a big sword and a small sword to show that true power doesn't lie in the sword but the swordsman. Theory: Zorro will probably be able to cut using any item by the end of the show.
Mihawk and the title are both goals for Zoro. No way would he accept the title of the WSS if he never directly beat Mihawk. Mihawk literally shat all over him, Zoro has to avenge that defeat. I think Mihawk and Prime Rayleigh are probably very similar in strength. Makes sense since their what Zoro has to surpass. And there's literally no way an EoS Zoro won't be Yonko level. Luffy will be right at the top, Zoro at Yonko level and Sanji at Admiral level.
The Greedy One Thanks you and its most likely like Sanji will be Yonkp level too as Roger who probably had multiple Yonko level people in his crew like Rayleigh and Oden...
Aniket Singh cannot imagine the scale of destruction. Even if all younko crew, entire marine force is fighting against them, they will all get killed just by aura of Buggy Sama.
From my point of view, Mihawk is very, VERY strong. At least as strong as Rayleigh, since Rayleigh was Luffy's mentor and Mihawk served as Zoro's. And Rayleigh was so strong that the Marines deliberately choose to ignore him, because taking him down would just take too many of their forces, leaving them vulnerable. But, at least in my opinion, Mihawk is even stronger than Rayleigh, or at least more skilled. Titles in One Piece are taken quite seriously, and Mihawk is one of the three people (the other being Whitebeard and Kaido) who has the title of "World's Strongest". And to be fair, NO ONE (not even the Yonko) has ever tried to question Mihawk's title. And we have seen recently that "black blades" are actually swords that have been used by the very best swordsmen, and Mihawk's blade is also black and is considered the best sword in the world. Finally, I'd like to point out that Mihawk is a swordsman first and a pirate second, if you can consider him a pirate at all, since he shows no interest in having a crew or anything else like that. He's very passive by pirate's standards, and he shows absolutely no interest in power of things like that. Heck, the thought of having the WG take back his Shickibukai title amuses him, and he seems quite happy because he's gonna have some fun at last.
ValeTheHowl absolutely correct and might I add that in Ace Novel it states that Shanks and his battles made headlines every time and it did great deal for shanks reputation
Hmm maybe. Like this video concludes though its so hard to say. Story wise, it COULD make sense for him to be slightly weaker than the admirals, or even slightly stronger than the yonkou.. Really it's all up in the air atm and we just have to wait for Oda to reveal it.
someone brought this up in a different comment but Oden wasn't able to turn him swords into permanent black blades while Mihawk can. Oden was able to give Kaido his only major wound (which we see as a massive scar) as well. This COULD mean that Mihawk> Oden, which means Mihawk could potentially injure Kaido as well, making him Yonkou level for sure.
@@imnotaclown9603 short answer: no since as you said, he isn't a captain and is just a singular dude. Long answer: The title of Emperor seems to be bestowed upon people who are not only strong but who have powerful crews. With the exception of Shanks (who seems to only have a small crew and no major allied pirates), Emperors also tend to have many subservient crews and/or Allied crews which is why Luffy having the Strawhat Grand Fleet and being allied with Heart Pirates, the Kozuki family and Mokomo Dukedom were used as qualifiers for Luffy possibly being the 5th Emperor.
The Yonkou and Admirals are counterparts, so that doesn't make much sense. I agree that he is stronger than all the commanders though. The very top dogs, the Admirals and the Yonkous have strengths that go beyond swordfighting even though they incorporate swords in combat. He may be stronger than them if they only relied on swords or weapons, but they have abilities that are even more monstrous on top of that.

RYIUN LOl they ignore this. With observation Haki Rayleigh said it too. He knows shanks is powerful and folks think he would become lazy and not be up to par
The data book says Mihawk is the worlds greatest swordsman in name and actuality. There is no unknown swordsman that is secretly stronger than him. Oden, Rayleigh, and Shanks just isn't better.
Oden MIGHT have been when he was alive. He was up until current times the only one to have injured Kaido. And Shanks might have been considered the strongest swordsman until he lost his good arm. At the very least we know that Shanks and Mihawk were relatively equal before Shanks lost his arm
@@ShadowknightEX stop the 🧢 otherwise oda would have said that oden was the strongest swordman stop talking bullshit if you dont know what ur talking about
You can call me crazy, but I think Mihawk might be stronger than Kaido. I think one of Kaido lost came from Mihawk. Just look at what oden did to Kaido with enma. Now, imagine what the worlds strongest swordsman can do with one of the 12 best Swords.
But no one could defeat Kaido one on one. Oden still lost to Kaido, even though he managed to give Kaido a scar. Kaido got the title "strongest creature in the world" for a reason.
That seems unlikely, otherwise Kaido would have tried to die at the hands of Mihawk like he wanted to do with Whitebeard. That implies that Kaido doesn't think that Mihawk could kill him. People would not propose that Kaido was the strongest pirate either.
@@MetakJesu07 wansnt it mentioned that Kaido could be defeated? Thats why he said he lost 7 times but he cant be kill, so the possibility of him losing to Mihawk is still possible.
@@2ndstrongestsupernova847 That's very unlikely, especially since Kaido is not a sword user. Kaido's defeats are more likely due to those who he has straight up acknowledged like Whitebeard and Xebec or the Marines top brass. Alejandro Rios He lost “AS A PIRATE” This implies not all were on a 1 on 1 setting. One of his 7 losses was in God Valley as the crew was defeated. Also, Scarring someone is not the same as being able to defeat them, Blackbeard scarred Shanks years ago, but it’s doubtful that he was able to defeat especially since he backed from fighting Shanks once he proclaimed himself as the strongest upon taking Whitebeard’s ability. In addition, you failed to add that event 20 years ago from the current storyline, nor do we context to how it occurred. Also, Kaido’s title supersedes everyone’s title, so, it’s extremely doubtful that he is strong Kaido; as Mihawk title is a sub-group of Whitebeard’s title.

1)Go d ussop

Why I think Dracule Mihawk is Yonko Level
(1) "World's Strongest Swordsman"
Literally means Strongest of all the Swordsman.
(3) Black Blade Yoru
In the Entire Series, only 2 People has attained the Black Blade, Mihawk and Sword God Ryuma. Shanks, Rayleigh, Oden, Samurai Gorosei and all other Swordsman failed to Reach this Level of Mastery of Swordsmanship. Thus, Mihawk's Swordsmanship is Superior that all of them and the Only One comparable to him is Ryuma.
(4) He Trained Relentlessly for many years challenging more and more powerful fows, until he had no more worthy challengers
( Vivre Card Databook)
(5) He was a Rival of Red Hair Shanks.
When Luffy becomes the King, Zoro should Atleast be Yonko Level
(8) Kozuki Oden scarred Kaido with his O Wazamono Blade Enma. Mihawk has Yoru, which is Superior to Enma in Every way. It is a Black Blade Unlike Enma and It is a Saijo O Wazamono Graded Blade unlike Enma. So, It's Obvious, Mihawk can Damage Kaido more than Oden could.
(9) Observation Haki
His Epithet is "Hawkeye" and before that, his Epithet was Supposed to be "Clairvoyant".
Facts
I see nothing but facts ppl just love disrespecting mihawk cuz he didn’t destroy vista or cuz they love shanks.

Or they need shanks level strength and 2 arms
He’s 1 of 4 people that have a title that refers to the entirety of One Piece - all of which we regard as at least Yonko level (Dragon, Whitebeard, Kaido)
Completely unscathed at Marineford and used no named moves
Travels the GL and NW by himself with no help or fear of getting sank (In NW you either join or go against Yonko to survive)
Was already famous at the time of Roger’s execution
I think he’s Yonko level without a doubt. Anyone placing him below Admiral level is just pure disrespect
Yes !
Yeah but a lot of top dogs are swordsmen.
@@thatdude5990 Guns are also common, maybe even more so.
Shanks and Big Mom use swords, but Big Mom clearly has strength beyond just swordfighting.

I can agree with that 😎
Another way to view it is that a duel would hold no value due to the fact that it's a 'loss' whether you win or lose. If you win against a swordsman with one-arm, it's unimpressive because he only had one arm. If you lose, then you lost to a swordsman with only one arm. You basically can't even win. There's nothing you can really 'prove' in a duel like that.
Agree
@@iiazazy2721 if you lose your definitely not the best swordsman
I have a very similar point, when Mihawk duels Vista he doesn't use any "move" (like titled move etc...) so maybe HE doesn't use any other abilities than swordsmanship in his duels. Like pure swordsmanship. In which case Zoro's moves don't count as being outside of swordsmanship because they're all based around that. Don't know if that makes sense, it does to me at least.
It took full effort for a division commander of yonko crew to stop a casual slash from mihawk

Yeah Dragon,Shanks,Mihawk, Admirals after Timeskip etc
There is a difference between strength and skill.
and in chinese and japanese martial arts culture, skills defeat strength.

Dude. Strongest creature title includes all swordsman

Nah dont mess with that "Strongest swordsman" shit he is definitely yonkou level

I think he's yonko level, he just doesn't have a crew
he was the rival of shanks, until he lost his arm. he is yonko Level without a doubt...
Even captain kid law and hawkins are rivals of luffy...but luffy is a league above them
@@takammaamangdado8678 they are rivals of luffy?^^ i did not knowed that. where was that said? whitebeard also said mihawk and shanks duels would have been legendary. that doesn't sound like shanks stomped him. i doubt a stomp would have counted as a legendary duel.
@@admiralcon.doriano8026 the story implies that they the supernovas the worst gens are rivals so...
Also you could just be 1% stronger than your opponent and defeating them without "stomping".
Vokaru starking yeah he was shanks rival when shanks wasn’t even close to his power right now lmao
Shanks became a yonko years later so he actually got stronger only with one arm
Mihawk gets bodied by Yonkos
Oooof not again this eye shit please. Go inform yourselves and PLEASE use your brain, its so simple. You should watch less naruto shippuuden

Need a Dragon power-scaling video now.
Yonko level (minimum) it can be cap but for starters to see how strong sabo is and his presence tells me he won't be revealed until late most likely not until fight with akainu and Luffy but that just me
there isn't much to go off of yet. At best, you could suggest that Dragon is stronger than Sabo by an unquantifiable amount. Which puts Him at around Admiral level????
@@Shoddragon On the same level of Garp(who is on par with Rox and crew; Roger, Shiki, Sengoku, the admirals, CP agency); beyond the new Pacifista model, like Kuma and beyond Kuma, who is stated to be royalty level ad ruler; also more experience than Sabo, who own Burgess(Teach right hand) and one of Doffy fam, Diamante, for Ace's power; a past second yonko commander of WB and the will & son of Roger. Beyond hack and Koala, who specialize in fishmen karate and martial arts in their own perspective. Chinese like fight styles, cause of a move name" Dragon Breath". #SelfEducation
there isn't any evidence he is on the level of Prime Garp or Roger. The only thing we can really infer is that he's stronger than Sabo by an unquantifiable amount.

Not a hot take.
You made great points. We don't have enough information yet.
Simple argument is that if Mihawk wasn't at least admiral level it wouldn't make sense to not show his full power till now.
He has too much build up to not be powerful.
SaiManish Rao Pretty simple. 21 or so years of not being touched
Mihawk waiting for Zorro
That slash was ACTUALLY TO MEASURE DISTANCE
He said US
but then when he saw luffy
HE DID THE SAME GREEN SLASH AND SAID "He is in RANGE"
Surprised?
maybe he just wanted to test the distance, probably like 3000m meters
Very good video dude. Everybody has a biass in this matter but you've put everything on the table.
That was smooth. "I'll catch you In the next one... peace.
Have never watched your videos before, but I just paused after your intro animation and had to tell you how fire that is.
Top 5 status in 2022 baby!!!!!
Next time we see him, we’ll see him leaving his island on his raft with the entire fleet sent after him in shambles.
Yes the marines
"I don't take the "World's Greatest" titles lightly, those are there for a reason."
Boy, after you said this if you don't put Kaido in the number 1 spot...
Kaido isn’t the only one with a Worlds strongest title. So hed be top 3.
if thats the case then luffy winning today will be the endgame lol
kaido isnt canonically the strongest, its what the people say
I like the fairness in the rankings. I’ll be honest, I love Mihawk but hate how people use the shanks rivalry to hype Mihawk up. Nothing is certain.
For all we know shanks could be drunk during those battles
We all know mihawk is those type of people who equally fight their enyme, especially when he fought zoro his qoutes were "i dont goo all out by hunting just a rabbit" soo... he's probably yonkou who likes to fight people equally
Any character with a cool background and known for being powerful teaches the main characters becomes a instant fan favorite don’t @ me
Mihawk is most definitely yonko level. He’s top 3 in the verse
Mihawk - indeed
i kinda feel like he is more admirald level but just an opinion
feel like if he was yonko level he wouldn't be working under the govenerment
Nishkarsh singh no it isn’t
Νικος big mom is more durable than kaido. Kaido has more endurance but durable definitely goes to BM. She has zero scars
ElfenLiedLucy clearly this is what it comes down to
SweetScienceAPA your logic is trash. Mihawk threw a slash at WB and jozu blocked it. Instead of WB himself.
SweetScienceAPA you’re comparing luffy defeat by kaido for Mihawk who is the world’s greatest swordsman. He won’t get one shot by WB.
"You could have a rivalry with someone, but still be gettin' your ass beat every single time."

Mihawk didn’t lose everytime dumbass they wonnan even amount of times goofy i thought that was clear when mihawk went to shank’s territory and shanks said wanna settle the score

Shon Homezzz I feel this m,ain’t the same

Yes he does.
Was a rival to Shanks. Was. Before Shanks became a yonko...
Rolo Young before shanks lost an arm
@@roloyoung763 and ?
He earned his title without a single scar, he never fought at his full potential I suppose
To be honest In my opinion I don’t believe that we should power scale Mihawk until we see what he really can do In a serious battle
We have yet seen the full power of mihawk. He doesn't even get damaged
Mihawk is a top tier.
Nuff said.
Of course he is top tier ..but remember Yonkou, Admirals ..Commanders are all considered top tier
Admiral level at best...

@@DieserOli2127 not really...yonkou are stronger than admirals..far stronger..
@@Nagar_Sir nope they are not far stronger.
No, roger didnt care about that fraudulent title
Lol really love this video, enjoyed it a very much. I'm a big mihawk fan (and Rayleigh!) (was thinking about mihawk before I opened youtube and seen this video) but agree that we just don't know enough to place him.
Now that he isn't a shichibukai we might see more action from him to know more about him! (hopefully, but it ain't gonna be for a while I suspect)
Funny how the only guy we know he fought often is equally difficult to scale XD
Admiral level at least. Dude sails in the grand line, all alone in a small boat, sinking battleships with a sword😂 .
I like this it’s raw but well thought out, it’s not just a summary of what has happened so far.
Description: "He's had clashes with some of the most powerful characters in One Piece, like Don Krieg..."
Don Krieg??? Powerful?? 😭😂😂😂
uhhh that's not what he says. He says that we the watchers have not seen something more impressive than Mihawk in his debut since Don Krieg's diamond fists
NTLuck description
I will put mihawk as same as shanks
Shanks vs Whitebeard vs mihawk vs kaido
I just realized Mihawk has a big sword and a small sword to show that true power doesn't lie in the sword but the swordsman.
Theory: Zorro will probably be able to cut using any item by the end of the show.
Imagine zoro cut something using pan
11:52 that "i don't know" gave me the feels
He is definitely Yonko level anything less is stupid
Just imagine mihawk and buggy in a all out battle
Aniket Singh cannot imagine the scale of destruction. Even if all younko crew, entire marine force is fighting against them, they will all get killed just by aura of Buggy Sama.
Buggy would one shot him... Boring match
buggy would just sneeze and the legend of 4 yonko will be over.
I stopped watching one piece because Oda made buggy way too OP.
what a nice closing!! Catch you guys in the next ONE ... PEACE
I think mihawk is stronger in sword technique and strength but rayleigh has more haki knowledge and advantage thus he was luffys teacher
mihawk is in his own class I think he's right below the yonko, but also stronger than an admiral and every yonko commander
Could Mihawk be considered a yonko? He isn't really a pirate captain, he kinda just a man who travels the sea with his sword and fights people
@@imnotaclown9603 short answer: no since as you said, he isn't a captain and is just a singular dude.
He may be stronger than them if they only relied on swords or weapons, but they have abilities that are even more monstrous on top of that.
the reason fights enemy starting at their lvl and slowly increasing lvl.. as he did with zoro and also said"i'm not a beast to go full out on a rabbit"
The man is the strongest swordsman , how is it even debatable. He’s clearly yonkou level. Also why do we assume all the yonkou are they same level
People are stupid, and think same category means same exact thing in every possible way. They don't consider that oceans and puddles are both bodies of water, both fall under the same category while being distinctly different.
A Jose lol been wondering this for years
And for the whooe "how does he know how strong shanks is now" argument... Mihawk told zoro that if he was a good seirdsman, he could gauge another's power without even drawing his sword first
RYIUN LOl they ignore this. With observation Haki Rayleigh said it too. He knows shanks is powerful and folks think he would become lazy and not be up to par

Meh Mihawk focused more on Luffy instead of Vista
The data book says Mihawk is the worlds greatest swordsman in name and actuality. There is no unknown swordsman that is secretly stronger than him. Oden, Rayleigh, and Shanks just isn't better.
Oden MIGHT have been when he was alive. He was up until current times the only one to have injured Kaido. And Shanks might have been considered the strongest swordsman until he lost his good arm. At the very least we know that Shanks and Mihawk were relatively equal before Shanks lost his arm

what a perfect character, well rounded, nice personality, calm and kind, strong as hell, you just can't hate this guy.
Mihawk doesn't have much to gain from fighting him and Kaido doesn't seem to be one to let such a thing go unanswered.
