8:09 the prize pool is low because most of the money teams recieve comes from stickers money. Each team made around 4-5M$ in sticker money with the Paris Major Alone and that's not counting autograph and other incentives. Dota 2 dosen't have this extra stream of revenue so that's why the prize pool is higher to compensate the sticker sales Also I don't think they don't want to up the money higher than tourneys like Kato and Cologne because it would dilude their prestige. I'm not saying I agree with it just how I think the thought process is behind it. Maybe things will change once the circuit reopens in 2025
Really crazy on the Major prize pool money, considering D2 max players is 863k, when GO's max players was 1.8 MIL..... Literally over double the amount. As of typing this up, CS2's daily today was 1.23 million, and D2's for the day was 603k. Kind of wild now that it's brought up. I don't personally follow or play Dota so I didn't know about their prize pool, and it's kinda blowing my mind a bit.
Viewrships falling for cs2( am glad tbh) pgl have had 150k? Laughable numbers when it comes to cs. Maybe if all donators gonna pull out bcuz of non existant anticheat and rampant cheating, valve will be forced to do bare minimum about it till then they busy counting money
Cool calculations. It would be more accurate if you count all Valve's expenses as well. I don't know if that's even possible. Like server costs, paychecks, marketing, tournament costs, etc.
As far as I learned from my research; Valve's internal project management and working system are entirely unique. Instead of dividing employees into departments, the entire team comes together and works on only one topic for specific periods. For example, in the first quarter of 2024, all Valve employees are working only on Dota 2, and in the following quarter, they focus solely on CS 2. Consequently, CS 2 isn't updated frequently. Other titles follow a similar pattern. No other company seems to do this. Typically, if a company offers products in multiple titles, there would be a department for each title, and the employees in that department would work solely on that title. Valve doesn't operate with this system.
A neat video idea would be to see how much in value vac banned accounts have in total, maybe more specific just like high value items "knives/ d lore/ stickers and so on. At least for public accounts
I think in the Tec Industry there are alot of things that can‘t be solved with money atm. The numbers don't surprise me that much because we all know how much addictive people are to lootboxes and virtual pixels. That's where the gaming industry is circling around.
Thanks to Anomaly and players like him with gambling addiction contributing to Valve’s pocket. Instead of opening cases, players should focus more on writing tickets about issues in game.

good concepts but someone should redo this including souvenirs because they cant be traded up they had to of been unboxed and any of the lowest tiers on cases because you cant trade up to a low tier in a collection for example of you have a mil-spec from a collection thats lowest tier is mil-spec you cant have traded up to it because it has no lower items to give you a chance at that mil-spec do this consumer grades and that adds a lot to the number, idk just my 2 cents would be a lot of work but would be very interesting EDIT: Nevermind for low tier items forgot that gun drops exist.

Wake up, valve is a scummy company, they dot care about you, they dont care about any of us, they just want your money and they have millions of gambling addicts to support them.

@Anomaly what happened to that 5000 case opening stream?
Do you remember that CS wasn’t free for like 8 years? All the money for the actual copy of the game has to amount to 5 bill…
And people buying prime status also.
Also all market transaction taxes probably contribute more than cases.
