Never seen a stork in the wild in Hungary??? I'm amazed! There are plenty in the Dunántúl region (which, apart from Budapest, I know best). There were stork nests on every street pole and chimney in the village where my grandmother lived. Heck, I've even seen them in the heart of Budapest on Margit sziget!
Indeed there are a lot of mineral springs in Hungary; in the village where my grandmother lived, there was a mineral spring in the village centre (beautiful brass column with three outlets, sadly gone now) where everybody got their drinking water in big basket flasks in the days before running water at home was available in the little villages. Till the very end my grandmother never used tapwater, only the mineral water from the spring ... I also made several trips in the Mátra and Bükk mountains, hiking from spring to spring.
Love your videos, they make it clear to me that there's still a lot more to discover in Hungary for me! Thanks!

Yeah, even though I spent a lot of time as a child in the countryside during school breaks I never saw storks out in the wild, just in zoos like the mini zoo on Margaret Island. But there's always a first for everything 😊

Recommendation for hotels here? we don't wanna rent a car for just 2 days . Bolt taxi works good there? Public transportations take to all places that you been

Hey there! We were here twice and one of the hotels we stayed at was "Borbarátok Étterem és Vendégház", and previously we stayed at "Villa Sandahl" which is not really a hotel, but a very nice Vinyard where you can get some rooms. I do not have any other places to recommend as I haven't tried more, but we usually book on booking dot com and always found nice places. Getting to Badacsony is easy with Train, and to get around you can use buses, but those may not cover all the attractions and may be less frequent. However I believe most hotels and apartmans can help with finding ways to get to some of the attractions 😊
