My 12 year-old son says we have to try this. I agree. Thanks for another great video. As I said before, you are on fire. Everyday another fun and informative video (sometimes twice a day or more!). We love your channel. Best!
Great idea but since you used a plate, you could have saved a couple steps. Pour the beans directly into the lid/small pot. Put your dogs in the bottom pot and cook both at the same time. Save the ziplock for something else. You’ll also cut your cooking time down too. And you’ll save on fuel as well.
Blackie , Outstanding Video and Great Chow too. I've cooked meals on camping trips. You Always showing tips for making it easier . Thanks Again. Tim L.
my super easy ham & cheese omelet involves much the same. take 2 hard boiled eggs (leave in shell for transport), a can of hormel ham 5 oz( closed i can find in taste to c-ration ham slices). kraft english cheese in a jar. slice , then dice then mash with a fork the eggs after peeling them. egg texture should be about what you want for egg salad. place the mashed eggs into the 1 quart freezer zip lock bag, open an add about 1/4 to 1/3 of the cheese to the zip lock bag. next open the can of ham an add the ham an juice to the zip lock bag. as in your recipe remove most of the air. seal the bag. massage / mix the contents of the bag to throughly mix. heat in boiling water for 5 to 6 minutes till hot, remove from the boiling water. open the bag & season to taste with salt & pepper. enjoy. Carrs unsalted water cracker make a good subtistuite for c-ration crackers. a favorite of mine in the old c-rats is the ham slices & crackers. did find a ham & egg c-rat one time. heated it up. so i had it at it's best. was quite good.
I was at a salvage place and they had a gallon jug of that denatured alcohol for $3.99, I got all they had, only 1 gallon. That's a great idea for the buns. I'd prolly just cut the dogs up and put in the beans. Looked great and thanks for sharing.
That is an awesome idea!!! It is such a pain in the butt if you get any scorching in the cooking container. We love beans and weenies when we go out but I hadn’t thought to bag cook it. Thanks Blackie.
the boil bag method works well for beans and other things often i will take left overs like mashed potatoes or meats and drop in boil bag and have hot food ready and a clean pot
I have CAPS LOCK PTSD now, but I got the message. Beanies and weenies are great camp food. HAVE A GREAT EVENING!!!!! If I have an extra container, I'm taking along sour cream, and home made sauerkraut. Probably leave the tent zipper at half mast after that.
Hey Blackie you know that the fuel additive " HEET " in the Yellow bottle makes a great fuel for alcohol stoves. It is 99% methanol and burns clean with no soot. If you catch the end of the cold weather season you can get a 4-Pak of bottles at Walmart half price at $2.49. Do NOT buy the red bottle because it has more additives and burns sooty.
Well thought out...you made it look easy, but without the forward planning it's amazing how quickly a simple meal can turn into a giant pain in the ass.... 👍
you got that right..i have been picked to cook on many family and friend camps and if you done work the details out first its always gonna be a problem
Let’s share some simple recipes: I divide my Bannock mix into about 100 gram bags. Time to cook- To that I will add 1 package of Apple Cinnamon instant oatmeal & some dried or fresh berries (blueberries 👍) mix it up with water in the bag & fry it in a little oil. So good plain, some jam, your morning coffee or whatever you remember to bring. Fry it low & slow.
So many ways to make it but this is the recipe I use. I normally fry mine in a little oil & flip it a few times. I make a X4 batch & it makes 8 100 gram bags. 100+ grams is Perfect amount for me, & to that I add the package of Apple Cinnamon oatmeal & blueberries 👍 ua-cam.com/video/lEPKgXHSeOE/v-deo.html Bannock X 4 1 cup flour 125 grams 4 cups 500 grams 1 tsp baking powder 4 tsp 1/4 tsp salt 1 tsp 1/4 cup powdered milk 1 cup 1 tbsp brown sugar. Optional 1/4 cup 1 tbsp shortening ( Crisco ). 50 grams of Crisco ( 1/4 cup ) Option for shortening, add some oil when mixing it up to cook X 4 = 8 Ziplock sandwich bags at 100+ g each

That's great Blackie, quick and simple, great tip, I'll have to start a little recipe book. Thanks! 👍🌭

Great idea Blackie. Heat the beans in a bag and reduce clean up. I like my hot dog buns steamed and warm like you did.
Excellent! Here in the mountainous southwest, water is precious. Minimizing the amount of water required for clean-up is essential.
I did this recently, but rather than beans, I just put hotdog buns (2 at a time) in top part to warm them. Worked great. Cheers
glad you enjoyed it
Good one, Blackie!
Agree on Nathans, they are tops!
Getting ready to put some beef restaurant ones on the grill now!!
Thanks for sharing!
thank you sir for sharing thought i only ate beans and chips that way hahahahah be safe out there sir
That's a great idea. It will also work with a 64 oz bushpot. Great video, have a great Sunday my friend
Cool, thanks for the video.
my pleasure

Looks good. Just make sure that if you're hiking on the trail with this guy, you're in front of him and not behind him after breakfast haha
I hate my hotdogs boiled but I have to admit this looks good.
Awesome, Blackie!
Good video Blackie.Like my dogs fried ,buns toasted.Definately has
It's place though.Gota to plan that meal soon.Have fun out there.
Thanks 😊
🤤 Looks like a perfect lunch to me, thanks for sharing Blackie 👍🏼🙏🏼
Had some crappie breakfast tacos. Crappie, 1 egg, some cheese, tortilla, and salsa.
Good tip Blackie 👍
Must say l've never seen anyone use a can opener like that before, l've always pushed it away.
Cheers
Came here to say this, I've always push cut with Victorinox can openers like that one.
Great easy meal
I wish I had the patience to cook. Meal prep to me has always been open can and/or package and eat. Once in a while boil water.

That's cool man. Made me hungry for dogs.
Awesome I love that the pot stays relatively clean, it makes it much easier.
I totally agree! like like easy clean up no burned to the bottom beans or other time wasters just heat eat quick clean and relax

nothing wrong with that lunch.
Great video, except I'm triggered by the sounds. I'd much rather hear you talk!
no thanks. you have way to much water weight, bags that arent needed, and way to many cooking vessels. looks good but other ways are way easier.
Fair enough! safe journeys to you
