Interesting that the SOG is not wearing any chevrons. I know the sentinels do not to pay respect to those buried in the tomb and possibly out rank them. Seen this ceremony many times and i still get emotional. Every American needs to visit these hallowed grounds and see what the price of freedom means. It would be awesome to hear the families side of the story. 21 years in the Marine Corps and these soldiers are very professional and dedicated to duty. Semper Fidelis.
Probably the commander is in the rank of PVT, PFC, or SPC since those will not wear rank on their Dress Blues in Old Guard. As he introduces himself as ‘sentinel’ too normally if ranks of corporal or above will state their ranks.
I have seen this many times, but it still never ceases to move.
Absolutely Beautiful, what an Honor ,To the unknown Soldier
Typically they shout commands and pass on orders. They do it silently if there's a funeral going on nearby.
they can't be heard at funerals, they do it to practice timing
Lest we forget.
Honorable
