Hi Asep 👋 We've been to Bali and Yogyakarta. You should check out our channel. We're currently sharing our trip from earlier this year. We've got a lot of videos to come! We'd love to make it to Jakarta one day. Where in Indonesia are you from?
adi darmawan Yes apparently for business it is one of the best places!! I have to admit, Some buildings are so Much Nicer than the ones in Holland! But you are right, not for vacation...
Hi Begum, thank you for vlogging my city, let me state a bit. I have no idea which part of Jakarta that smells like toilet, but i guess you guys passed the hi-ways that was built above slum areas or river. Not all traffic or roads smells like that. That is normal in big cities, even sometimes when i passed some small cities in Netherland or let me say in Germany, that has barn or farm, it has also bad smell. it doesnt mean the city smell like toilet or animal. About being dirty in the nearby Istiqlal, yes some places have unorganized food stall or unsupervised cleanlines, it just happened to be a public space like road or side of road, but i assumed inside the masjid/mosque would be clean, as supposed people do pray over there. Big cities has it own charms and minus, it is never perfect, like Paris and Milan have pickpocket, Berlin or Amsterdam have junkies, Istanbul has lots begger and i am sorry to say, also gives me experience that full of fraud. So as well as Jakarta, we have also that so called Big city problem, I hope that indonesian and jakartan who watched this and read my comment, can also take part in keeping my city clean. I hope i dont sound snob, but i just to make it clear that it is normal what you have experienced in my city, that as 3rd world country that is still developing, we have a lot to do, though like that, 1st world country has also imperfection in perfection.
you are so sweet for explaining!! it was just at the airport, I think it was a sewage problem there... You are so right!! No I understand, what I said may have been a little bit too harsh, but you explain it so nicely! And your country is developing nicely, it is just that I was not really used to it.. But I love your country!!
Begüm Aslan Not a problem, was my pleasure to do that. I hope that your video can show more positivity of any city that you visit, that would help the tourism grow and perhaps help the government to manage the city better. Thanks for loving my country.
Hello Syarifah, we will explain in a vlog about our experiences in Indonesia.. The vlog is a moment thing for us.. we only mentioned what we felt/think at that moment. There was no any intention to speak bad about a city /country/religion. if you look the other vlogs then you will know us better.. (we didnt go inside the mosque, i only didnt like the enterance and the hummit wheather) In Bandung we went also to a mosque (really beautiful) I know in every city/country are things i dont like also in Turkey and also in Holland. But you know its very personal and everybody has there personal view about it.. Imagine,, if everybody helps to clean the city.. / country.. it would be amazing. In my head i had imagination of a clean country.. :))) then you will never leave Indonesia... But one thing i liked really.. i saw a lot of happy people... happy /laughing having fun with little things in the live.. deep respect really.. x
Zeynepgungor70 Hello Zeynep khala, i guess most of city in Indonesia is quite humid, because it is a tropical country and big city is always crowded. Even also during hi summer in Europe. First of All, i did not leave Jakarta for that fact, I was fortunate to work and study abroad and at last landed here in Europe for quite long, though like that I still embrace my patriotism and love my country with whatever it is indeed. I do take part in keeping my city clean once in a while when i am home, but it would take ages to get society to take part in it, as it is self-awareness that is needed. Indonesian is a happy and cheerful nation, because we were taught to be a grateful individual, although by history we were 350years colonized by Dutch, we still have good and positive mind toward foreigners, we welcome them with good and opened heart. Therefore, as anak bangsa (child of a nation) I addressed my thought to Begum above that If she could express more positivity, she would earn more followers, we are humble and loving nation, we would expect Tourist and Foreigners to do the same. The most important is, to respect the people and the land they visited. But gladly, Begum and You had made it clear to me. Let’s make this as value that we all should learn from. Thanks! Hayirli geceler..
Terima kasih 😊
Hey Begum love your content 🥰 and glad you visited my city. Sorry if we have caused distress in any way, hope it doesn't discourage you from visiting Indonesia again. As for Jakarta well yeah it's pretty much just as you have said, there's many problems with the city, though things are improving quickly especially public transport and traffic, but it's nowhere near perfect. I hope you continue to travel especially after the pandemic. And I hope you do keep an open mind while travelling, many places in the world don't match western standards especially in cleanliness, safety and etc... and without an open mind we will never learn new things and enjoy the trip. You're concept of a toilet can really change after travelling southeast asia haha. Best wishes to you and your family. :)
Thank you so much! Noo, as you could see in other videos, Bandung, Jogja, Bali are way different than Jakarta. I loved the people, the food, the temples, the nature! Would definitely go back to Indonesia once again.
Thank you for posting your video, as it gives a very general idea of what Jakarta is like. We're off to Jakarta in March 2020, and cannot wait! Love to Indonesia.
Senayan city mall is For middle class-upper class, you should go to mall, where many visitor for any class, or normal people. Just like Pgc cililitan, Itc Cempaka mas.. If you wanna Shopping and more reasonable price, and more people in there

I laughed when your mom said you'll jump to the green river because it's dirty, but i don't understand when she said she didn't like Istiqlal Mosque because it's "dirty". I mean, what did she mean ? Which part of the building is dirty ? In this footage i can't find found the dirtiness in the mosque. I just don't get it. I appreciate it when you said that it's not dirty, but it's just an old school building.
Hi thank you for your reaction! We did not enter the mosque itself, we stood in the entryway. Since it was raining that day, the entry was full of dirt and mud from peoples shoes, which is what she is referring to!
Hi Begüm Aslan by the way thank u for shared about ur experience in Jakarta, but i think 2days is not enough to explore Jakarta,u haven’t seen some other cool places in Jakarta, like Skye bar,Cloud,Henshin(those are rooftop bar)n also old town,n next to Grand indonesia mall there is Plaza indonesia,n also u have to try some Indonesian foods,so i hope u will come back again next time :)
I think theyre clean because we have 2 indonesian housemaids in our house. Ive been in jakarta last 2006 and its dirty and poor but there are nice places.
I hope you and your mom can review and give thought about this Indonesia trip through video.. um yeah in Indonesia at the beginning of the year is the raining season.. so I suggest you to visit around April, May, June, July, August.. Hope you can visit other destination:) I hope Indonesia can be more cleaner and more comfortable so you can come again happier..
Hi sweetie! We did visit other places, like Bandung, Jogja and Bali!! We loved Indonesia!!! It was just a little different for us in Jakarta.. Thank you!
Hi Begüm thanks for visiting Jakarta, Indonesia , your vlog is awesome 😁 you might considering to visit malang in east java province, a city where i live 😆 here we have beautiful places
Where are you from? The brand Pocky (or marketed as Mikado in Europe and perhaps some other central asian countries) is actually the real name of the chocolate sticks made by a japanese food company, Glico, so it’s definitely not the fake one as you thought :p
Welcome to Jakarta, but it seems you had no well planned places to go in it, which actually Jakarta have a lot places and activities you can visit or do. But it was a very nice trip to visit Bandung, Jogja, and Bali also after Jakarta. Waiting you upload the Bali series videos and hope you enjoyed Indonesia 👍
Well frankly speaking jakarta is not really a touristy place, unless u seek shopping and such. But really not much of a thrill. Just like any other generic megacities. Go give bali a try
Thank you for coming to Indonesia. I appreciate your honesty in your video. Even me as an Indonesian can't stand with Jakarta 😂 You should've went to Indonesia's famous tourist spot such as Bali, Lombok, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and many more.
Hi Abmi! I am back in the Netherlands, I am sorry! Maybe if I go back to Indonesia we can meet! We stayed in Jakarta very shortly, we went to Bandung and Yogya after (you can see this in my other vlogs!), but thank you for asking!!!
Every time my friends from abroad ask me for advice re: Jakarta, i always tell them to just avoid Jakarta because there is not so mich to od here, it is grossly humid, the polution is so bad, and on top of that the city is full of ignorant, dangerous conservatives.
yes,, our dentist is from Jakarta..and he was suprised when he heard about our trip:) but its a big city.. very big.. so many people.. im happy that we went and saw it.. my advice.. dont listen to anybody and make it youre experience. its always good to see it self..!:)
I did not notice the ignorant, dangerous conservatives, We only met nice people luckily :) But indeed as my mom says, you have to experience the city for yourself, as there are people who like it! But indeed the humidity and pollution is very noticable..
you are absolutely right mam. Traffic problems are serious problem in whole south asian countries. Nobody bother about traffick rules. Drivers are very rougue and impatient. pedestrian have no sense of crossing roads. driverss are unruly. so govt make footbridge over roads. This footbridge might be uncommon in Europe and america. the people seldom use it. so road accidents are common. the main problem is for aged person. they have difficulty to use footbridge.
yes exactly! I did not mean to criticize, but it is very difficult for me to get used to the traffic in Jakarta.. And exactly, for elderly it may be even more difficult...
Welcome to Indonesia, although I miss your vlog till may. And thank for honest opinion of experience travel. It will help to advance Indonesian's tourism business.
The vlogs are only for fun. there are lots of vlogs for the toerists.. Vlogs of Begum will hopefully help also that woman can visit Indonesia...YEAHHH.. If we can do it.. everybody can doo..Girl power:P

Begum, fyi, Jakarta is not really good for vacation😂. You should try Malang, Bali, and other region in Indonesia. Have another visit to Indonesia next time Belgum :)
I would like to be on your tour guide for free though. Lol. If you do likes beverages, there's a bunch of local coffe shop/ cafe that has different flavors (not starbucks :)). Good for rainy days. Take care btw. Send my greetings to 'ur mom. :) And comeback anytime u want

But indeed the humidity and pollution is very noticable..
exaggerate
you are absolutely right mam.
And exactly, for elderly it may be even more difficult...
yes Shumayl.. some people take it to personal. but every body has different view.. :))) thankk youu..

Don't take a metered taxi, only use Grabcar. You will know the final price before you get in the car even if they get lost.
:) we found it when we met Ahmed..:P he told is about the gojek:)
Yeah I know, we did not know that at first but later we used Gojek:))
