The drone is sick, but I think for most people it is overkill. You probably won't see the difference with the air 2s on a phone, so I think most people will stay with air 2s or another drone!

That first 25 seconds of footage of the drone, would really love to see a BTS of how you got those shots (and the other shots of it flying in your studio throughout the video). Absolutely loved those closeups of the drone in action.

The muschie tree stuff is mainly the codec (and high bitrate). On the iPhone 13 if you record non ProRes and you move the camera, trees get muschie, if you do the same with ProRes, the details are preserved.

Great video and very informative👍🏾 I have a very tough decision to make as I’m about to take my part 107 knowledge test so I can fly Commercially and use my drone professionally. Believe or not, The only drone I’ve ever owned or flew was the original Mavic pro! I told myself I wasn’t going to invest in another drone until I could absolutely make sure that the drone I invested in was one of the best! And after watching this video, I think my wait is over, and my answer is clear.🙌🏾

Free movement we say there is no play or slop, ie fitted the bearings to the shaft and there is no play at all. Or the machine is worn out, there is a lot of slop in the drive shaft

Woha! What a drone. But did you know Peter, if this is released in scandinavia without a C1 marking, after 31.12.2022, you can't fly it un urban environments, you have to keep 150m away from people, houses, cars and parks. Let\s hope DJI will come witn an EU version soon..

How does the MP3 cine version compare with the Inspire zenmuse 2 x5s and x7? That should be the real comparison...
I have to laugh that all the UA-camr's I've watched this morning have the "Cine" version. Yet most of us will not buy that version. Come on DJI, how about reviews of what 99% of the world will be flying.

I'll be very interested to see if Active Track is available in other frames rates. I have a Phantom 4 Pro+ and annoyingly Active Track is only available in 30fps (I believe this is the case with other DJI drones, but I may be wrong). There is also a dip in video quality when Active Track is selected. Considering the cinematic options that Active Track opens up (some shots would be impossible to achieve otherwise, for non-professionals who may be filming solo), then it's a major pain that the quality dips and the frame rate sets itself to 30fps.

Really would've appreciated a comparison between the max bitrate H265 and ProResHQ. I have a feeling the difference will be marginal.
You won’t be able to see a big difference, but when you’re working with it in post it’s definitely a huge difference!
@@PeterLindgren1 if that is true, I know a LOT of people would appreciate a comparison between the two codecs. There’s a price difference of $2,000 and many of us are skeptical at the difference in quality both in detail retention and color grading. The fact that no one has done such a comparison is quite frankly baffling.
And when it comes to editing performance, my new MacBook Pro can edit h265 like butter, so no issues there.

nice intro but also in sweden the EU drone rules says that flying with a drone above 500gr you need a licence in the specific category to produce such shoots over or near to highways... cause any car-driver is also an uninvolved people and as the 1:1 rule says with such a flightheight like 100m you need make sure that no uninvolved people are in the circle around the drone with a diameter of 200m... so an A2 CofC is not enough! you are not allowed to fly with such a heavy drone so near to people... and a specific licence is such expensive and time consuming to get... with such a short test time you does not had enough time to get a specific licence... so we can assume all those flies above crowded areas would have been illegal flights

It's expensive. What makes it worse for those trying to make a living out of this is that on paid jobs, a backup drone is needed in case of a crash, overheating etc. Since no parts of the Mavic 3 (except the standard controller?) are compatible with any other drone, the backup should be another Mavic 3. Then it's getting too expensive (over $5,000 for the standard version). To me, that means that I'm going to track down a Phantom 4 Pro or Advanced as a supplement to my existing Phantom 4 or I'll buy two Air 2S or even two drones from another brand.
What I don't get is that the RC-N1 controller seems to be the same one as for the Air 2 and Mini 2. Still, on DJI's website, they are not listed as compatible. Do they only do this to make us pay more or are they simply not clever enough to make gear that is backward compatible?

Jo alltså... Is the zoom camera set on "no zoom" magnified at all in comparison to the main camera? The rest of zoomed in footage looks like its digitally enhanced so i wonder why even bother putting this telephoto lens on the drone at all? Among the coolest footage in Transformers are the zoomed in, fast moving areal shots. Eller hur? 🙂

Late to the party here but the shot at 7:29 looks like it holds straight lines really well. My biggest issue with my Mavic Pro is it rarely flies in a straight line ever. Am I right to assume this isn't an issue at all on the 3?

I have a stupid question.If I were to capture prores, edit on the timeline and export my edit from final cut as H265, would I lose the whole benefit of having prores in the first place? Does the extra quality in prores remain even though the final project is in H265? Meaning the whole benefit of prores is the extra editing power but not the quality in the end? Thanks again. I thought this question on another video and I thought it was a great question but it was never answered.
Check out the Evolve 2 by XDynamics. It's a drone that offers pretty much everything the Mavic 3 does, and costs $3700 for the kit. I think the Mavic 3 Cine version is outrageously over-priced. The base Mavic 3 is just really over-priced. Especially when compared with something like the Air2 S or Mavic 2 Pro Zoom. DJI is competing with itself and hoping that they can get away with because they're DJI.
Interesting. I just looked up for it; but it is too big for any adventure shooting to carry around. Whereas one can still put the Mavic 3 in a mountain bagpack! But indeed if size and weight is not a concern; it seems to be a great choice!

Regarding the drone, meh.. A bit disappointing. The upgrade from Mavic 2 pro seems too slim to justify the price gap. The 1/2" zoom sensor seems to deliver unusable footage so what a waste.
But most of all I would maybe have took the leap if it wasn't linked to the Fly app !! To me this app is not up to DJI GO 4, especially for precise proximity flying where tripod mode and EXE settings are necessary. The "Cine mode" of the Air 2S by example is way too fast compared to the Mavic tripod modes, that is a big problem for me flying close to my subject / indoors etc.
Maybe DJI slowed down the Cine mode in the Mavic 3 ? Or maybe an update of the fly app is coming with more setting capabilities ?
Currently looking to replace my Air 2S with a Mavic 2 pro and probably wait for Mavic 4, or DJI competitors to catch up..

before you think about buying new drones think about that the limited A2 rules are useless in reality cause of the safe distances to uninvolved people : the safe aera must have a circle with a diameter of min 100m up to 50m height but at 120m height the safe area must have a diameter of 240m around the drone (1:1 rule!!) so to fly in A2 limited you need a specific operating licence wich is hard to get... expensive and extremly timeconsuming cause there are not STS at this moment... also the EU drone classification will not be able to get before end of 2022.... so no one can use any drone with above 500gr take-off mass until you can buy a c1 drone cause the c2 drone safe distances are not much better (60m diameter up to 30m height and above 30m still 1:1rule so 120m = 240m safe distances)...

Very nice but not nice enough to exchange a Mav 2 Pro for. If it had a 1" sensor and optical zoom, that would be tempting but I'm not tempted at all. It definitely looks cool but I don't require 5k.
