Geelong has backed up a dominant home-and-away season with a premiership after demolishing Sydney by 81 points in the AFL grand final on Saturday. Minor premiers and clear favourites to win their first flag since 2011, the Cats lived up to the billing to end the decider as a contest by half-time before sealing a 20.13 (133) to 8.4 (52) victory in front of 100,024 fans at the MCG.
