Thanks! I recently aquired the 03 suburban on my channel with 5.3. I perfer the ol vortec small block for towing my 3500lb enclosed trailer. The 5.7 small block stays in a higher gear longer than the 5.3. The 5.3 doesn't really come alive until high rpm. The 5.7 sbc kind of falls off over 4k rpm but has more torque down low.
You are correct it could use more rpm before it shifts. New engine max hp is at 5700 rpm. The ol Turbo 350 has the stock shift points but i've been researching that if I grind off some of the govener weights on the trans, that should raise the shift points. When it gets above freezing this spring i'll give that a try and do another video. Cheers
Thanks for not LS swapping like so many people do.

I like the truck
Thanks!

Nice trick buddy.
Thanks 👍
They make a smaller oil filter, I used to have the same problem with my 454
Shoot I’d let that baby rev up to 5 before shifts! Sounded like it wanted more rpm

@@doctube2020 yes and an adjustable shift modulator will also help it shift at a higher rpm at lower throttle inputs
