Wow... This layout is absolutely AMAZING! This thing embodies all of what model railroading is about! The small details are HUGELY emphasized, and it makes it very fun to look at! Great Scenery, Great moving parts, and some of the most fun I've ever seen!
Thanks for uploading this video. Nice layout, animations, and a decent rail yard to boot! Congrats to the group/club that spent the time making a great layout!
when i was younger i went to fairs and stuff with this kinda thing this is by far the most amazing model railway thing that i hav eve seen and ive seen steam engines!
Many of the animated figure scenes are very creative and I applaud you for the use of motive power with sophisticated electronic sound systems- but my overall impression is this is more in the realm of "toy trains" rather than "scale model railroading".
Nice job... I'm a fan/model railroader myself. This project took a lot of time and money.. nothing but love for the hobby!! thanks for sharing joseph in denver colorado
really imprssive, not into trains really, just models, but REALLY enjoyed the buildings...would like to see more of the town sections...nice lightin....
Shouldn't the title be "Amazing TOY train layout"? ONLY KIDDING!!...mostly. 2 or 3 rails, it's still a fantastic layout with great workmanship and imagination on display! Well filmed and edited, thanks for sharing!
The world would be such a cooler place, if a town of this size in real life really did have this many trains running through it.. awe yes, nobody would sleep, ever. muahahah
You folks complaining about time frames and other details probably did not read the description and don't realize that this setup is in a museum and is intended to showcase a range of styles and periods.
at 3:44 you've got actual running water. That is awesome. I don't know if you have one, but could you make a video on the technique you used to accomplish that?
This Train museum and hobby shop is located in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains. It is an awesome display for o scale. The museum is housed full of very rare lionel pieces as well as new ones. The museum is directly across the street from the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. The movie "The Fugitive" with Harrison Ford was filmed in Bryson City. In the movie the town was called Doverville.
This looks like a scene from the Movie Young and Innocent which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. They used model trains several times in the movie and blended real cars and people into the scenes.
@LWSParents I have never been to Ohio (except to change planes), but if I find myself in the area I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks for letting me know about it!
Hines- Have you ever checked out EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester Ohio? It's about 15 min. north of Cincinnati. Thanks for uploading this video. It's very good quality and gorgeous layout.
This is cool, but doesn't even come close to the Model Train Meuseum in Balboa Park, San Diego, California. Twice as realistic, 10 times bigger, and six different layouts. You can actually recognize the terrain and towns. includes the most awesom toy train layouts I have ever seen.
Most (possibly all) model trains run on electricity picked up from the track. Wheels, axles and rails are metal. I believe they are made of steel; I've seen some rails rust. But I would not be at all surprised if some are made of aluminum.
That took a lot of time, effort and patience to get this from a train set to a working masterpiece of art. Well done!

Really nice layout, I bet it looks even better in person. Thumbs up good job.

Little children don't care about scale, they just enjoy watching the trains. Thats all that matters.
Awesome...of all the incredible details, the guy sliding the plywood out of the truck was the coolest...
Glad you liked it. The amount of detail in the real thing is truly remarkable. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood.
The layout is really cool! I love the articulated locomotives!
Thanks for the post. I always liked that layout. I love Lionel trains and the sound that they make.eve with the sound effects.
when i was younger i went to fairs and stuff with this kinda thing

That is wicked. I love the moving accessories. ☠
thats a truly amazing model railway....congrats to all involved in the building and operation of it!
Absolutely the best! A killer layout...the attention to detail is amazing, kudos to you sirs.
That's better than any model railroad I ever built, and probably ever will!

Wow! The controls look like they came off a Star Trek prop!
really imprssive, not into trains really, just models, but REALLY enjoyed the buildings...would like to see more of the town sections...nice lightin....
Although the train layout is very hot! The detail is nice
you've got those engines hauling ass...lol. Nice job!
I dont think you could get anymore detailed than it already is.
Wow, that's one awesome layout.
VERY impressive hi-rail layout! :)

Yes, it would. Maybe even a driver-view camera, like in a simulator.
