There are atleast another 100 cities where you can go and call that "underrated" because there are things like cleanliness, modern housing complexes(boring socialist style), modern CBD, modern public transports, education and good infrastructures that are standardised in China which means these are available to not only big but also small cities. People say Shanghai is big so they have this or that but not in small cities that's really not the case. Yes "the small city" has to be really really small because there are 156 cities in China that has more than a million population so urban facilities are provided there by the government. There are another 415 cities that has 100000 to 1 million population and another 1257 cities that Has 10000 to 100000 population. That's why the Chinese never stop building and the government doesnt stop serving because the goal is to serve everyone from poor to rich. That's the Communist mindset of the ultra capitalist China.

I visited Hangzhou back in April of 1999. I rode a boat around the lake and it was beautiful. However, the city has really modernized since I was last there! It looks so high tech now compared to 24 years ago since I last visited. Great video!

The first car showroom was of Lotus, a British sports car brand own by Chinese now. The Urus looking SUV is electric and made in China and the sports car is called Emira (ICE car) which is made in the UK, I test drove it a few days ago. Zeekr is a high end Chinese electric car company, the two cars in the showroom were the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, the later one is an MPV. Both the cars have a lot of technology incorporated in them, including the first Qilin battery which has a range of almost 1000KM on a single charge. Next time when you see a showroom, just walk in, they are very friendly and let you video the car.

I am from Hangzhou, these places are good, but are normal compred with other cities in China. u may visit Mao jiabu(茅家埠）, Long JIng tea mountain（龙井），Su Di(苏堤)……to expolre the unique and historical city of Hangzhou. It's would be extrem hepful if u have a local guider to lead u to visit these places. HangZHou, as well as India, is an ancient city with deep culture and history.

I had been to Hangzhou this April and May, and believe me or not I was not ready to come back to India( Because the life their was very different, I got used to the environment there in a week!!), the people their are so friendly and welcoming they dont treat us like we are tourists they treat us like we are one among them, and the safety there is actually good, anyone can go anywhere they want, you will just need a device to talk the with the people, if you know chinese then its the best place to live, but as first preference I ALWAYS LOVE INDIA, I wish in the near future China and India have a very good mutual understanding.

There are atleast another 100 cities where you can go and call that "underrated" because there are things like cleanliness, modern housing complexes(boring socialist style), modern CBD, modern public transports, education and good infrastructures that are standardised in China which means these are available to not only big but also small cities. Yes "the small city" has to be really really small because there are 156 cities in China that has more than a million population so urban facilities are provided there by the government. There are another 415 cities that has 100000 to 1 million population and another 1257 cities that Has 10000 to 100000 population. That's why the Chinese never stop building and the government doesnt stop serving because the goal is to serve everyone from poor to rich. That's the Communist mindset of the ultra capitalist China.

The first car showroom was of Lotus, a British sports car brand own by Chinese now. The Urus looking SUV is electric and made in China and the sports car is called Emira (ICE car) which is made in the UK, I test drove it a few days ago. Zeekr is a high end Chinese electric car company, the two cars in the showroom were the Zeekr 001 and Zeekr 009, the later one is an MPV. Both the cars have a lot of technology incorporated in them, including the first Qilin battery which has a range of almost 1000KM on a single charge.
Next time when you see a showroom, just walk in, they are very friendly and let you video the car.

If you like the city like Hangzhou, I advice you to visit my hometown Chengdu, which is also a very traditional and modern huge city in China, and it is the capital city of Sichuan province. And most of international tourists love Chengdu because of its pandas.
Chengdu is soo beautiful! I stayed there for 6 full days! Chengdu citizens are so friendly and laid back.

I am from Hangzhou, these places are good, but are normal compred with other cities in China. u may visit Mao jiabu(茅家埠）, Long JIng tea mountain（龙井），Su Di(苏堤)……to expolre the unique and historical city of Hangzhou. It's would be extrem hepful if u have a local guider to lead u to visit these places. HangZHou, as well as India, is an ancient city with deep culture and history.

Very very few of them are willing to be a tourist guider. One thing you may do is to ask Anyone with good english here to be your guider. If u r lucky enough, U may can make it for free, or it's fair if you pay around 500-1000RMB/day

I had been to Hangzhou this April and May, and believe me or not I was not ready to come back to India( Because the life their was very different, I got used to the environment there in a week!!), the people their are so friendly and welcoming they dont treat us like we are tourists they treat us like we are one among them, and the safety there is actually good, anyone can go anywhere they want, you will just need a device to talk the with the people, if you know chinese then its the best place to live, but as first preference I ALWAYS LOVE INDIA, I wish in the near future China and India have a very good mutual understanding.

The first time I visited Hangzhou's West Lake was the summer of 1986. The price of a cup of premium green tea was about 20 cents US (US dollar .20). My how the city has developed especially over the past two decades. Do drink the green tea which is famous. No need to add milk and sugar. 😉

China’s advantage over US and India is its one party system. One party system is much efficient to develop a country.
Take life expectancy of both China and US as example. In 1950 China life expectancy is about 38 vs US 68. After 71 years, in 2021 China life expectancy is 78.2 vs US 76.1( latest figure by CDC , US life expectancy dropped by 3 in 2020-2021 period from 79.1 originally). China expectancy increase by 40 years while US increase by 8 years only. China life expectancy increase 5 time faster than US.
Also Look at health care by comparing MMA rate( maternal mortality rate): in 1950 China maternal mortality is 1500 women death per 100,000 birth vs US 100 women death per 100,000 births. In 2021, China MMA is 16.1 vs US 23.8 per 100,000 (the lower the number , the better health care service level) .
Infant mortality rate: in 1950 China infant mortality is 195 death per 1000 birth vs US 26.8 death per 1000 births. In 2021, China infant mortality rate drop to 5 per 1000 vs US 5.4 per 1000 birth.

And people in China retire at 55 years old on average to access pension. About 12 years earlier than US's 67 years requirement while some countries may not have pension at all. It also means an American only has 9 years to enjoy retirement while an average person in China has 22 years to enjoy retirement.
Also it is not means or asset tested when access pension in China. It means you get your pension monthly even you stay overseas, are a multi-millionaire or have another job after retirement.

Lotus was a famous British sports and racing car brand that Geely of China bought (same owner as Volvo and partial owner of Aston Martin James bond cars). Lotus Nyo is the electric cars that Greely started to make later on. Geely also makes the famous London EV taxis that you can see in the UK. Geely HQ is in Hangzhou.
