- Many people who have been involved with Vedic Astrology for a long time have been confused when it came to this topic. Transit or Dashas: which is more important. When they read about Transits they come to know that they are in a good period but they are at the same time going through a bad dasha and bhukti. Which one is going to give more effects? Thank you- I find your articles and explanations very lucid. I have read some of your articles on Ketu Mahadasha and Sade Sati and other periods in general- and am astounded by the accuracy. I am a Vrishchika rasi, currently in the middle of Sade Sati, and my Venus Mahadasha has also started after a tumultuous Ketu mahadasha from 2008-2015. The last few years have been a constant battering- full of betrayal, unfair job loss, loss of love (which I only found after many, many years). Even when I excelled at work, false allegations and unsubstantiated claims and politics compelled me to leave. The blessing is that is still have my parents and I am grateful for that- but I am exhausted and am feeling the effects on my health. You mentioned that bad transits- like Saturn Transit with a bad Jupiter placement can prevent any good results from fructifying- certainly that is not very hopeful, since I am just now in my Venus MD-Venus AD period- which is supposed to have been one of the best periods in my life.

I think the life stage in which this hits you does matter. I am now approaching 40, and have never had a career, or a family life, despite being a top performer, despite being fiercely loyal to the man I loved, despite often putting others first. Now it is 11 months on since I made that comment, and I am still jobless- and still alone. Having gone through harassment and bullying, being a top performer, targeted, and then probably slander/defamation/libel (that is unjustified, and untrue- so much jealousy and oppression), I have gone through numerous interviews and no offer- most of them go very well. I am not perfect, but I have worked my whole life, to better myself, and help the people around me, be it at work, or in my personal life, but have been left always shortchanged, or in the dust. The patterns were the same throughout my life- but SS/Ketu MD definitely increased severity, and made it hard to recover and start on fresh opportunities.
All I've seen is that in the real world, integrity, character, generosity, tolerance, hard work and results, loyalty, kindness- none of these ideals hold any water especially in SS/Ketu MD phases. Luck/fate/stars aligning plays a huge role. That seems to be my life learning. In fact, I more often see all the bad elements, people who lack integrity, with no moral compass continue to succeed materially. I cope with it now by adopting 'observer/witness' mode. As if I am just watching my life unfold- but I am not me in body.

Hello Anamika, thank you so much for your heartfelt message to me, I really appreciated it. I can totally understand what you've gone through in your life, as it's almost mirrored my life so far. I too am nearing my 40s and it seems all the hard work, effort and vigour I've invested into things just seems to go nowhere, especially during this rather tough SS and my Ketu MD which ended a just two years ago I think. In a strange way it's reassuring to know I'm not alone, which makes Vedic astrology even more profound and powerful to utilise.
What you're saying makes so much sense to me, it's like we have to relearn how to survive in this somewhat distorted world. That's what I've been learning about through Vedic astrology and it's so true.

You are right. Transit results are always to be studied along with Ashtakavaraga. I will do a video on this topic soon. Have the Saturn Ashtakavarga and Jupiter Ashtakavarga with you while reading the results. Also have an eye on the Samudaya Ashtakavarga. Also the planet that is involved as the Dasha Lord and Bhukti lord also plays a key role in transit. It is very complicated but we can eat the whole meal little by little.

Thanks for the info. Though now it is clear that Dasha-bukhti is more imp than the current transits. But I have seen astrologers using current transits and predicting many things.I am a Taurus ascendant,Jupiter is in the 9th house in my horoscope. Jupiter is transiting my 2nd house(Gemini). Astrologer has told me this is favorable time for me. Could you explain why? Could u make videos abt such case studies n explain how n when to relate planetary positions in a horoscope with transit positions?

Nice one sir. So in a conclusion we can say Horoscope is Vehicle & Dasa Bhukti is Driver and Transit is a Road. Basically if Vehicle (horoscope) is good we can manage when dasabukti and transits are bad. Please correct me if am wrong. :)

Please guide if the effects are same for transit of a planet vs placemnet of a planet in particular hous. For example Transit of Jupiter over 4th house as compared to Jupiter placed in 4th house in the Birth chart. Will the effects be similar.

Sir, is it possible that the planetary period actually dictates/magnifies the severity of that particular planetary transit, and so planetary transits and periods are both one and the same? For example, if the planetary period is Saturn, and Saturn is transiting the 10th house of one's horoscope, then Saturn in the 10th house will have a huge impact on one's career and status??
