Dale Jarrett had great parents..I was lucky enough to meet Ned Jarrett at a meet and greet during 1992 Daytona Race Week and to just say Ned was a good man would not give him justice.

I was watching that race LIVE too, when J.D. McDuffie lost his life. Man, I knew right away that was a really bad deal. I told all of my buddies, as we were at my house drinking beer and enjoying the race......."Man, that wreck don't look so good, I think something really bad has happened"........I'll never forget it........and sure enough. All of my buddies at first were saying things like: "Nah, it ain't that bad"..........I wish they would've been right. But only after several minutes, we all knew, long before they even announced the tragedy.

I never get tired of hearing that old Ned Jarrett Ralph Earnhardt story! Ned tells the story himself in that old NASCAR legends reunion interview they had at the NASCAR Cafe back in the late 90's. Its even cooler that Ned used Dale Sr very early in his career to promote races at Hickory Speedway and fronted him money to keep Sr racing. When I think of class and kindness, I first think of the Jarrett family!

D.J. will always be known as one of the most authentically NICE GUYS in the sport. I was able to speak to him at length in the airport once, and it felt like I could’ve talked racing with him for days.

Glad I just watched this video again. I was just saying very recently that I wondered what happened to Glenn Jarrett. I'll never forget how thrilled he was to finally get to interview his brother in victory lane when Dale came from WAY back to win at phoenix. 1997 I believe? Everyone talks about Ned calling those two Daytona 500s but a brotherly victory lane interview was pretty awesome too

I love this channel and Dale Jr’s podcasts. In a weird (good weird) way, I get this nostalgic feeling of sitting around with family listening to stories back when I was a kid... If the stories aren’t told and listened to, they go with the person who could’ve told them, and that’s why this channel is so special.

The entire Jarrett family seems like such wonderful people. Being able to watch Ned call the final lap of the 1993 Daytona 500 in which his son won was so cool. While I was really rooting for Dale Sr. to finally get that much deserved Daytona 500 victory, I was equally happy for the Jarrett's. Between Ned in the booth and his mom sitting in the van out in the parking lot praying during the closing laps of the race, it was a remarkable TV moment. I miss all the great personalities like these that NASCAR seemed to have in abundance up through the 1990s.

Dale JR... Your doing fantastic buddy! I was always a fan of your Dad automatically, and a fan of yours too! Not just because of your name, but because you too have your own originality!
You had a great Nascar career, and going out without a championship didn't bother me none! I was thankful you quit, when you did, because we wouldn't have been able to handle losing both of you!
That being said, bravo for your 20+ wins, your 10+ years most popular driver, your work in the booth(which is stellar because your not at all a lose for words).
We're proud of your JRM, commercials, and now especially your own podcast stuff. I love how you've decorated the place. You get great big nascar names as guests, and your doin things top notch! I'll say this, my favorite commercials you did was the Dale Call when those guys were duck hunting, and the one where you were doing the voice of the deer head on the wall... "I'm feelin pretty stiff" LOL. Congratulations on your marriage and new fatherhood!
    Take care!
Oh btw, maybe someway you could have a fan as a guest!

Seems to me, Dale J was the Step Father for Dale Jr after Dale Sr passed. Close ties in racing for 60yrs. I can’t think of a better man/racer/insider/, to take on this role. I’ve seen tons of footage and stories and I really think DJ is the angel that helped Jr deal, heal, and carry a torch he never wanted and talent racing wise he could never match. However, Dale Sr could never do what Jr and Kelley (mad props to his sister) have done since his passing.

So Sr. went through a similar situation with being promoted like a super star like his daddy. It's a shame they put that kind of pressure on the drivers. Just my opinion.

Funny to think but nah…as Dale Jarrett has gotten older, he’s looking more and more like Ned.
