    The drumming. Can't you hear it? I thought it would stop, but it never does. Never ever stops. Inside my head, the drumming. The constant drumming. It's everywhere. Listen, listen, listen. Here come the drums. Here come the drums.

    • @NeoSquall86
      @NeoSquall86 8 років тому +7

      Actually not. The Master's drum beat is regular and plain, while the main theme beat is harmonious. One is a straight "1-to-4" beat, while the other begins as a "2+1" beat, which seldom evolves to a more elaborate pattern.
      I can't explain better because I never studied music theory, just have a sharp hearing.

    • @cassie7377

    I know what I must do. I'm going to go out, buy an Ipod, and fill it with this. Every single bit of space on it, filled with the sound of drums. And everywhere I go, I'll always have it on, always hearing the drums. Eventually it'll get stuck in my head, so that even when the Ipod is gone, the sound is still there. The drums, always beating, always getting closer, for all of eternity.

      Uncreative Name Well if you heard it all your life you wouldn't even notice it. It becomes like a pattern, so your brain just tunes it out. It's like when you're driving on the highway for a long time, your eyes can get used to the pattern of the lines on the road and you could fall asleep (something to be ware of). If you've seen the latest season, the Doctor gives a similar explanation for the human heartbeat in Hell Bent.

      You're ebing an overcynical spoilsport here. The Master's drumbeat stays constant, the intro's drumbeat doesn't, but that doesn't mean one isn't still obviously inspired by the other.

    • @1withthelion
      @1withthelion 6 років тому +3

      It's not about the fact that it's constant or not, it's the fact that the beats to the intro follow the steady four beat rhythm. A rule of four if you will

    • @Shreya-to7ec
      @Shreya-to7ec 6 років тому +4

      The intro does start with four beats, the first and fourth played loud while the two in the middle are ghost notes. Depends on the arrangement, but this rhythm is definitely present.

But I do know that this world has to go kablooey by any means necessary. I humbly offer my service to you and will do all in my power to assist you to absolute victory. I am ... the Sorceror. But, I need to know how. So, since I can hear it too since my birth, shall we take our revenge? Please do respond to this soon. Master. You are the Master of All. I wish but I don't believe it fits. We don't know when he escaped the timewar and went to the end of time and otherwise none of the events that have happeend are undone just we now know that Gallifrey did not burn. A better question is are his people still crazy and does he hold a grudge against them for how they used the master?

      @scottschlesinger8788 11 років тому +1

      I don't think this opens up the door directly, but that does not mean I do not think they will find a way to bring him back. The master has survived and escaped being written off far too many times and the TIme Lords supposedly brought him back just for the time war so it is not outside the realm of possibilities

    In the show they said that the Drum Beat started when he looked into the Time Vortex, maybe the Beat he hears all his life is his two hearts racing. Think about it, there's 4 booms each time. Two booms per heart. He said when he looked into the Time Vortex, it scared him. Maybe he's scarred from it and his heart goes in hyper drive. Just my opinion.

      Not my name
      Well, the signal rassilon sent through the time vortex wasn't the drums themselves but forced the master to consistantly hear his own heartbeats as loud as anyone would hear a drummer in a concert, consistantly in his head. going about like that for however long the master lived would drive anyone totally insane. that's just my theory tho :3

    • @notmyname3487

      +The Aegis It's a good theory and I'm pretty sure they mentioned it having re-watched that two-parter, seriously though; no wonder he was so mad... drummers are almost always loud, give them concert speakers and you'll go deaf and mad.

      Gallifrey falls...no more. With it, the Master will rise a new. Or so I hope. Well, I say 'a new'. Actually as he exists just now. A dark presence. Thumbs forever gesticulating a positive, while all around him melts to nothing.

    How to really feel like The Master: Using earphones, start this video and another one (preferably a music video) at the same time, with the drums at low-medium volume, and the music/other video at whatever volume you are comfortable with. Listen for a period of time, and then take out the headphones. It seemed like nothing happened, and that's when I suddenly found myself tapping my foot in an otherwise innocuous pattern. It will get stuck in your brain.

Number two try to remember specific things about you childhood if you can't remember any specific things you are either Master or theres something else going on. Number three look for blue boxes.

    Four single notes; basically a metronome; the reason this stands for eternity is because in most to all cases; Passages of music are made up of notes that all add up to four single beats; whether it be a long note held for three beats or 25 half half half semi notes all in 30 seconds. Hard to explain because I'm bad at that but people who know the fundamentals of music theory would understand what I mean
