One of the brashest auteurs to emerge from the New American Cinema, William Friedkin jolted new life into some of Hollywood’s most popular genres-from crime thriller to horror to action-with a gritty, documentary-like immediacy and a fearless approach to controversial subjects. While early triumphs like THE EXORCIST made him one of the most successful directors of the early 1970s, Friedkin’s often-overlooked later career is studded with fascinating personal projects-including SORCERER, a white-knuckle remake of THE WAGES OF FEAR; and the infamous, enigmatic policier CRUISING-that display his edgy stylistic verve and bold, uncompromising vision. - Фільми й анімація
SORCERER! One of the best movies of all time!
I'm disappointed _To Live and Die in L.A._ (1985) isn't on the list.
A great movie.
The soundtrack, the cinematography, Willem Dafoe as the antagonist, how cynical it was for an 80s movie. It will always be a favorite of mine
@@superstimulatedminotaur3681 I snuck into this 4 or 5 times back when it came out. I had a love/hate relationship with it for a while because of William Petersen's performance which I found/find weirdly sensuous although I really appreciate it now.
It's always been hard to find. Whoever owns the rights it seems like they don't get it on any services. I bought the blu-ray or DVD because of that although I think it is/was on Prime recently. Maybe it hasn't been out there on the movie channels because it isn't very popular or well known?
Sorcerer is such an underrated masterpiece! Plus, The French Connection, The Exorcist, To Live and Die in LA… all classics!
I need SORCERER in 4k please! Criterion!
William Friedkin is the most underrated director in history. For my money, he is the most interesting director from the 70’s.
Killer Joe the best I have in several years.
I’ve been working my way through his filmography and he’s already become one of my favorite directors.
@@thegroove14 watch killer Joe. It’s freaking crazy.
One of my favourite Directors, sorely missed!
Hope if your showing 'The French Connection' it's the uncensored version. For shame whoever made the decision to cut it.
To think the Blu-ray I bought over a decade ago would end up being the definitive version...Especially sad since Friedkin is no longer around to fight on the film's behalf. The man had strong feelings about censorship
I highly recommend reading his memoir The Friedkin Connection
Tangerine 🍊 Dream !
I've had that track on several playlists throughout the years
* Realmente un grande.
Del Cine de Acción.
"Carga Mortal" y "Contra el Imperio de la Droga",
Como olvidar "Vivir y Morir en los Ángeles".
Aunque pasó a la eternidad, por una película de Terror.
Are we finally going to get the uncensored version of "The French Connection" back?
Why why RAMPAGE is not available anywhere?
*sigh*...i know.
The two that should be there is The French Connection and To Live And Die In LA. Killer Joe is great as well.
i wish we could get a remaster of rampage
I have it on VHS, never seen it anywhere else.
Total master of his form!
just thought about him, awesome
i always wanted a signature of some kind from him, werner herzog and george miller
Arguably the best director of the 70s
so no 'Boys in The Band' then?
To Live and Die in L.A, Cruising??
Looks like Tom Cruise on the video picture
Jade is on there but not To Live and Die in L.A???
Two great films (Exorcist and Sorcerer) and two pretty terrible films (Deal Of The Century and Jade). Maybe I need to revisit those two again and give them another chance.
WAY too many clips from deal of the century.
