if you don`t want to do a CP 3 conversion there is an alternative you can replace the stock fuel pump preasure regulator that has a 100 micron screen with a Exergy fuel pump pressure regulator that has a 20 micron screen .this will not keep the CP4 from gernading but will keep the fragments contained so the fuel rail, injectors and return Line don't get metal in them. they are about $250 plus instillation. lubricity additive added to the fuel with every fill up will decrease the odds of a pump failure.
CP4 only fails due to air in the fuel lines and lack of lubrication. Don't run the truck below a quarter tank and use diesel fuel additives for additional lubricant in the fuel lines. Hi much for the delete
I heard from a diesel mechanic that as long as you keep your fuel clean you don’t need a fuel pump or cb3 conversion.
It’s a ticking time bomb reguardless they were designed in the uk where the fuel as more additives the reason for the lift pump is unlike the fords and why they live longer is the duramax has no supply pressure to the pump it’s just pulling from the lift pump on the back of the cp4 so the lift pump alone will help. Just not an 11k dollar gamble I would like to take personally I put a cp3 in my truck and haven’t looked back once. But at the end of the day I don’t believe in fuel additives and it’s just my opinion

how much does a cp3 sawp cost?
It’s about 3k after labor for a basic swap
I been wanting to do this but every shop says NO
ahhhh you've been going to the wrong shops!
Man don't use the D word anymore the feds are watching, use the code words, wink or something. geez

Can you please help me with my truck
What does having the DEF and EGR deletes as well as the CP3 conversion cost?
cp3 i just got quoted at $4000 to do the swap from a 4 to a 3
Really depends what parts you’re putting on just the conversion itsel without the pump blowing up and only doing the bare minimum is like what VestDZN said about 4k
You can add some other goodies and make it a little more pricey
Just did. All that as well as banks ram air and 5” stainless monster exhaust was a hair over 8k.
Can I just unplug my EGR??? Plz respond
I mean you can but it’ll probably cause issues down the road
@@RESURRECTEDDIESEL like what kind? Some issues that will make my engine go boom?
I could spend 7k on all that or wait till cp4 fails and spend 4k! done deal.
I mean if you want your truck to leave your stranded then sure but assuming you’re doing the work yourself you’ll spend about 4 but having a shop do it you’re looking at 7-8k just to get the same shitty pump again..
@@RESURRECTEDDIESEL I will be upgrading to the cp3 thus coming spring just in case. I really like my lml.
@@RESURRECTEDDIESEL what grille insert is that I want one for my lml
When the cp4 fails u will need to be replacing all injectors and fuel lines, also clean out ur fuel tank cause the metal debris will be in there from the return line. it will cost about 10K if u wait till it blows up. Im assuming u dont know that cause of your original comment........
Never delete emissions on these. Epa is cracking down. Google clean sweep. Built lml that was in competition. If you want to roll coal.. get an old detroit or some shit. This is all bad advice except the cp3
EPA can kiss my biscuits. I need my truck to be able to breathe without sucking on its own farts. Is the EPA gonna buy me a new truck or pay for the removal of all that gunk in its system?
@@JustCallMeTango I hear ya, but that's you versus the fed, irs and epa. Also, these new diesels on the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are built to keep moving, not short trips and idling. People have put half a million miles plus on their hotshot rigs with all emissions intact. The baby diesels in the half ton trucks I think were optimized for short trips and idling. So long reply made shorter, look into a half ton diesel if it's use is just for getting around town and occasional pull and get a 1 ton if your gonna put 30,000 miles a year on it.
Just can’t be idiotic with this shit. Of course dot is gonna pull you over if they see massive amounts of soot coming out of gigantic exhaust pipes out of your 2016 diesel. But no one seems to understand the best place to hide is in plain sight. Keep it simple stupid. The minority of the people who do this are the ones that’s want to keep their expensive trucks for as long as possible & not have to replace everything every time a sensor goes bad. It’s bullshit.
Air dogs are trash fass systems are the only system you should put on your diesel
Why not FASS? explain
AD>FASS
Gotta be because of the Fass fuel filter problems. I'd just throw cat filters on them. Fass has bin proven to be fricken reliable. I'd get it over air dog any day.
Was wondering the same thing, love my Fass Lift Pump and have had no problems with it.
It’s like anything else in life. You either love it or hate it. I have a Fass on my lml now for 6 years. Never had a problem with it other than a single blown fuse. I run Baldwin filters myself. Both cats & baldwins are good. They’re easier to find that Fass filters.
@@Vickvineager I’ve done a lot of research on this and the FASS is 100 times better than air dog. I can’t even find where it’s even a close match. If anyone has done any research on these other than just listening to guys like this then they will find very fast how big the difference really is. I find this very interesting he would say that…
Lol spending $20k-$40k to do $10k in mods is not a good idea. I just even buy the piece of shit truck in the first place?
🇺🇸👋
Air dog is junk
Might be the worst must do video I’ve ever seen. Must do, rent a wood chipper and throw your camera in it…
Keep it quiet, some guys are making a lot of enemies, and they are putting political pressure on emissions! And you guys are ruining tunes for us all!
Fucking video was unbearable
