these guys should have played Bottlerock, they are better than 95% of the acts there playing inferior genre music, but they should just to playing real rock and metal, no punk
The Misfits probably weren't meant to be taken too serious. I like them but I highly doubt even they took themselves too seriously...But to say that punk has no place in metal is ridiculous. The thrash genre might not exist if not for punk bands like Discharge, GBH, the Subhumans or Black Flag. Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica were highly influenced by the genre and went on to do several covers after they became established bands.
