Coming from a 49er fan… it was a run first offense with Jimmy G and we all had heart attacks when he threw the ball. Purdy actually throws the ball deep and accurate.
@@rafaelisslaam1894I believe Trent is the best football player regardless of position, but after him Purdys more valuable than any other single player on the team. He's won games without Deebo in his rookie year but is actually winless when Trent is out.
Brock throwing the ball downfield opens the run up so much for CMC. Our line is trash. You can tell how bad we are outside of Trent, when they know we are running we get stuffed at the line of scrimmage or behind it quite a lot. Then Purdy hits em deep and opens it up. The browns game is the perfect example of how much they compliment each other. CMC had very few yards and Brock had his worst game. The whole offense could not get it going and its not because of Trent and Deebo. Its because it was just one of those games where we did not match up well and Purdy had a bad game, BUT he still drove down at the end and set us up to win. rookie missed the fg.
@@rafaelisslaam1894absolutely not. Under Shanahan, 49ers fans prayed he finally found his qb. We thought he did when they gave up 3 first rounds to get Trey Lance. That alone should tell you how much we needed a qb and this is with Deebo, kittle, and Trent on the team. Qb is the most valuable and important position to the 49ers offense. Without purdy we’re not this elite
I’m a Steelers fan. I went to the season opener against the 49ers. Brock Purdy was throwing dimes! He also made some off script plays that blew me away. I came away realizing that he’s not just a system QB, but a phenomenal player! It’s laughable to say that Trent Williams and Debo Samuel are more valuable!? What!!?? If Trey Lance was the 49ers starting QB with Brock Purdy’s stats, they’d undoubtedly say Trey is the MVP! What’s the real bias most of the panel has against Purdy? TJ is 100% right!
The two Philly fans on this panel have been lobbying against Brock all season and last year. They just can't get it through their heads that he's a fantastic player.
It’s honestly just because he’s the last pick man these people in the media and scouts can’t stand how wrong they were about Brock so they keep moving the goal post to diminish his level of play like the same old dumb narrative of “he’s playing like this because of the weapons” or “it’s the system” “oh it’s because the sun was behind him so he could see the field better than anyone else” 😂😂😂 it’s ridiculous man
I'm a Steelers fan as well. What do you think about all the "Time to move on from Tomlin" Talk? I personally think if we had a decent QB.... we'd be in the playoffs for sure. Pickett is cool, but he's not ready for prime time and Bisket was a terrible move. We were terrible this season and still have a 7-5 record. That's coaching in my opinion.
Shady and Joy just hating because Purdy is better than Hurts. Without him in the NFC Championship game Niners got blown out, with him Week 13 Eagles got blown out. That’s night and day if you ask me.
You can't run an offense without a quarterback, and you can't run this offense this well without this quarterback. This isn't about Purdy's stats or his arm. This is about Purdy's competence. Shanahan is the most complex offensive mind it the game today, and Purdy opens up the entire playbook in a way that isn't limited the way it was with Jimmy G. That's what makes this offense special. That said nothing could make 49ers fans happier than arguing over which 49er should be MVP.
As a Niners Faithful. I'm just so happy just to hear Brock even in this conversation. From Mr. Irrelevant to Mr. MVP conversation in his 2nd year. We're talking bout 2nd yr in the league. Blessed as a faithful fan
I think we had more games less than 20 points, but still win because of the defense before. We kept staying nervous with Jimmy until the final clock runs down…. Now we are sitting in the couch, relaxed and enjoying watching the game.
Exactly. This is no longer a defense first team. The offense has put up 40+ multiple times this year. Why? The quarterback leads the league in nearly every metric that means anything.
Jimmy G was 26-5 when not throwing a td. I was thinking about this Sunday how great is it to not have to relay on the defense to win games. We gave up 29 points and my only thoughtwas we need to clean that up. People are talking about the 9ers offense for the first time in a long time before it was just about how often can that d keep them winning.
JOY WANTS TO HATE ON PURDY SO BAD 🤣🤣 she was squirming when TJ was spitting facts. When Trent and Deebo were out, CMC got HALF the yardage he’s been averaging with them in the lineup. Nevermind the defense. I don’t wanna hear about that 3 game stretch anymore. If CMC is out, Purdy is still gonna dunk on people, period. If Purdy is out, they’re gonna lose.
I know, the draft pick scenarios were astounding. You very clearly pick the quarterback that is putting up shockingly good numbers. That is the most important guy. You then build around that. Imagine for a moment where this team would be if we were stuck with our first round draft pick.
Exactly and when her and shady's lord and savior jalen hurts plays like garbage with all his weapons and o line healthy she just talks about how good he was last year and gives him a pass 🤦🤣
@@TheYungSesShow exactly! Jalen gave this game away with those prayers. But that's his problem, always has been. He just throws prayers to guys, and then is surprised when an actual defense makes him pay for it. That's why Saban benched him for Tua.
We've seen 4 previous no name 49ers RBs perform elite in this offense. Only seen one QB perform elite. Easy to know who's more valuable. Not to mention the offense is built for running the ball. Oline is top 5-10 run blocking, bottom 5 pass blocking. Skill position players are all elite blockers and runners too. Kittle has to stay in to block a lot because of the oline issues which takes away a weapon.
@@fontaneross7539ers not relying on defense as much to win the game. Purdy spreading the ball ball more than Jimmy as well. If we kept molstart who is on Miami we would still look good. Shannahan even said Purdy is the the reason why he has open more plays for this offense. I'm waiting for your response after educating you
Great conversation!! Both Brock & CMC are highly valued, but Brock’s understanding of a very complex offense, his poise and calmness, and his awesome articulation of this offense, tells me that he has the most on his shoulders, by far the most responsibility, and creates the great play for all the other great players on the team!
You can tell they didn’t watch the losing streak. Brock led them down the field and the kicker missed the game winning field goal. He also threw just under 300 yards one game and 360yards the other. CMC fumbled twice, once in the red zone. They blame blame Purdy for the losses but he still played better than the record shows
TJ and JJ the clear headed non-haters in this group. Shady, they went farther places without McCaffrey too. Man the logic on the left side of the table is like the Twilight Zone.
Because he's a receiver and he understands how vital it is to have someone as accurate and throws with anticipation. He can watch film and see it. The rest of these guys all have an agenda.
funny nobody brings up that CMC has the BEST WEAPONS a RB could ever ask for and he still isnt have a better year than his second year in Carolina. More TDs yes but not more yards. No other RB has even 1 elite WR or FB blocking for them. CMC has 2 amazing blocking TEs, best blocking FB, 3 ELITE blocking WRs and they all compete to be the best blocker on the team. Oh and the best run blocking LT in the history of the sport.
Let's be honest, these people are not the smartest out there. For God sakes, they claim that they would pass on a young quarterback that is tearing up the league and has the best numbers of any quarterback and take instead some skill position.😂😂@@brohymn003
Wait a minute. Joy's argument has a huge hole in it. 49ers defense gave up over 200 yards rushing and 29 points to Arizona. That's objectively bad. Yet, 49ers still won that game. And did so convincingly. If Brock Purdy doesn't ball out this game would've looked like Bills-Cowboys.
She's a brock Hater that's just it ppl like them wanna make exuses why we win "oh it's not brock it's CMC it's Trent its deebo" LIKE BRUH WHO IS THE QB WHO IS HANDING IT OFF WHO IS THROWING THE BALL?!? Ppl especially 49ers fans know without brock at QB we are not this good I say that as a die hard 49ers fan
She always mentions the 3 losses, but she doesn't mention at the end of the game that he got the niners in position to win, despite it being his worst game this year. Or the fact that he had a concussion at the end of the vikings game they lost on an interception. The Bengals beat us pretty fair and without much dispute, but he still looked about as good as Jimmy did
She’s definitely a Brock hater but she is right, she doesn’t know anything about football. If you have no idea who any of these guys are and you come look at the numbers and you know the value of a quarterback your picking Brock.
I love how Purdy is criticized as if he's a 7th year player. Kid is 23 and hasn't even played a whole season. The only reason he gets this level of scrutiny in the media is because it's unprecedented for how good he is playing, this early in his career. Now all anyone resorts to is saying he had 3 games missing key players where he wasn't amazing. THREE GAMES?!?! HE CAN"T HAVE THREE GAMES OF NOT BEING SUPERMAN OUT OF THE FIRST 22 GAMES OF HIS CAREER?!?! NO QB IN HISTORY HAS EVER BEEN HELD TO THIS STANDARD AS A ROOKIE/ 2ND YEAR
Him being this good goes against everything these “analyst” predicted. They don’t want to look wrong on National TV so they look for the small details to try to break him down even tho A) he led the drive to win against the browns b)cmc fumbled at the goal line and the defense played just as bad as bad against the Vikings and c) he led the team in rushing yards and had 400+ total yards against the bengals despite 2 bad plays.
@@armanihall7169 Exactly. It’s easy to see through their BS cause they don’t actually criticize anything that Brock is doing wrong, they just make excuses as to why he is playing so well. Very standard tactic, if you can’t argue against what someone is saying, don’t address the actual information they are bringing forth you attack their character instead which has no relevance to the actual information that’s being discussed. No one can tell me how Brock is a bad player or how he fails at his job, I only get excuses that dismiss why he is playing amazing football
Here's why I believe Purdy should be the MVP instead of CMC. Purdy's statistics closely resemble Peyton Manning's 2003 MVP-winning season, during which Manning won over Priest Holmes, despite Holmes' impressive 27 touchdowns and over 1,400 rushing yards with 690 receiving yards. Purdy is currently on track to surpass several all-time San Francisco 49ers season records, including touchdowns and yards, outperforming even the legendary 1994 team that scored 505 points.
Thank you for james Jones and TJ for speaking sense into these mvp Purdy debates. This niners team was a defense 1st team but Purdy is so great that they are now an offensive juggernaut. And are dogwalking teams even when the defense gives up 29 points.
If Niners gave up 29 with Jimmy G it was almost a guaranteed loss. He wouldn't have been able to score 30+ there forget about the 40+ Purdy put up. Jimmy G gets crushed by the DT on the play where Purdy throws to CMC and he falls down then gets up for the TD. Jimmy can't DO that. so Purdy is elevating CMC by extending plays so CMC can get down-field. But we'll just ignore that becuz...Last Pick BAD!!
You cant blame Purdy for them losing the 3 games and then not give him credit for the game games he wins, if hes the reason they lose then hes also the reason they win
Weird how that logic works. BCB is playing the most important position in football and balling out. The stats don't even need to be mentioned, the eye tests proves it all. BCB is the MVP.
That's what I've been saying. They were like when we lost 3 in a row, it's all because of Brock. But when we won those 18 include the 2 playoffs, then it's because of the "weapons". Pisses me off.
I love CMC, but during that 3 game skid he had 2 fumbles. In the Redzone... i know Purdy struggled but so did the whole team. Defense was ranked 31st during that 3 game skid, kicker missing hella kicks. Joy talks about nuance but it doesn't sound like she goes into the actual nuance of those 3 games.
No one ever does and it drives me nuts. I can't stand it when these analysts bring up those three games, yet they don't have the decency to actually look at the details or stats for them...
This is what I’m talking about. They point to the 3 games but they don’t talk about what really happened. Wilks was on the hot seat going into the bye.
Purdy only really played bad vs the Browns and even then 3rd rd kicker couldn't make a 40 yarder for the game winner. Shanahan was calling some BS games during that skid too. Probably got caught up in CMC's TD streak and getting him that record. That ended in the Jags game though and they went back to winning.
Tj said it. If cmc was mvp he would have beat the eagles at qb. But he’s not the most valuable. Maybe the best player outside of Trent. But Brock is way more valuable. All QBs are. NFC championship showed that
@@Idiombomb I actually think Mitchell and Mason are pretty good and would cover enough of the gap to get some wins. Would they win the super bowl? Idk about that, but they could make it.
Everyone is forgetting. Brock never lost until those three games and you could see in his eyes he didn’t know how to handle the adversity and felt he was letting the team down and it was his fault. The team had to tell him, RELAX! You do you and let us do us. The burden was lifted and he didn’t feel alone and look! What happened. Now he knows what it’s like to lose, and what it feels like to feel pressure, he needed to grow.
So I’m guessing we don’t have other ballers on the offensive? CMC isn’t a baller? He was still there in the three straight losses, Kittle wasn’t playing either? Aiyuk, Jennings, Juszczyk, etc… None of them were there? Brock must play Defense too, because they didn’t show up those three games or this last one when O’Connor ran for almost 200 on them. Also, Purdy has to deliver the ball to Debo, he can’t throw it to himself.
Everyone forgets that in their first loss, Purdy led a long drive to get the 49ers a chip shot field goal for the win and the kicker shanked it. In the other two losses he suffered a concussion in one game and then took another shot to the head the next game. Which you could tell if you watched the game, he was just off since the first hit to the head. Oh and every other QB in the league has at least 3 losses too.
Why do Purdy fans put qualifiers on those 3 games? We were down because Brock was bad in Cleveland. And if newsome would have caught the ball brock threw right to him, there would be no field goal attempt! Minnesota he had the concussion so that is a valid argument. But if he was concussed, why did he play in the Bengals game? He was terrible in that game! Brock has been playing lights out but there is no denying Brock wasnt good in the 3 games trent and deebo was out!
@@rldebro they don't, they are forced to defend the ridiculous idea that the QB with the best record in the NFL since he has been a starting QB should somehow be faulted for losing less games than any other QB over that same time period. The guy is 20-3 in games he has started and finished in his NFL career but because the loses happened IN DA ROW!!! somehow people act like..I don't know? what? They count for two losses each or something? Its unbelievable. He is far and away the best statistically, and has the best record but he played average over a 3 game stretch during a period his defense was ranked 31est in the league and somehow we are supposed to act like he is not deserving of being MVP. If he did not get MVP with his current statistical performance it would be the 1st time in history a QB with his statistical output did not win the award..but IN DA ROW!!! the losses IN DA ROW!!!! Its so tiresome.
49ers had all of that success without CMC also so that point is invalid.. 49ers went to a Super Bowl without CMC … and Jimmy G never led the league in any statistics, never was a mvp candidate, never had the offense operating on this level… defense and running carried Jimmy.. now they are the greatest show on turf 2.0 with Brock at Qb.. and Joy brings up those 3 games every time I watch her.. CMC was also playing in those games.. Purdy was concussed, kicker missed FGs and defense was horrible…. So can’t only blame Purdy… and Brock did go 4-0 without Deebo last year tho.. and What happened in the championship game when all those players were healthy minus Purdy?? They only put up 7 points!! That’s how valuable the Qb position is and Niner fans learned this the hard way last year…Brock is having one of the most efficient seasons ever.. #1 in nearly all categories.. he’s about to have possibly the greatest QB season in 49er history… and that’s including Montana and Young.. think about that..
Fact is that if Purdy doesn't make it to a Superbowl it doesn't matter how much better he is than Jimmy G; Jimmy G took them to a Superbowl without Purdy or CMC. If the 49ers gets bounced in the playoffs lord have mercy on Purdy as the Media is going to chew him out. 49ers went to a superbowl not too long ago and also went to NFC championships as well. They're looking for RINGS. Who is their most valuable to get them to a Superbowl. It can't be Brock since they went their with Jimmy G.
@@andradeb2695 I don’t deny that they had elite weapons. Most great QBs had at least one. But come on dude you can’t deny that Purdy has two #1 receivers. A top 5 tight end and the best RB in the league. Most great QBs have 1 of those. Lucky if two. He has 4.
Excellent point. To act like the quarterback, particularly in this case, is less important than three or four other players is evidence that they have no idea what they're talking about.
For real, CMC's insane greatness cannot be overstated HOWEVER he's OPOY not MVP and that's not even really his fault it just is what it is, that's football.
@@9doggie12this past Sunday.. darnold came in and they didn’t look nearly on the niners level. Purdy came back in immediately and the offense started clicking again
So then create an award focused on just quarterbacks….I’ve never been a fan of technicalities but if you aren’t even the most valuable on the team how does he rightfully deserve it. CMC has to beat defenders around the edge and bob and weave them going up the gut and he has 20 tds and almost 1900 scrimmage yards. Yes technically he plays the most valuable position but he’s not the most valuable player imo.🤷♂️

CMC plays behind one of the best run blocking olines with skill players who are elite blockers across the board on top of Shanahan's RB friendly system while Purdy has to navigate behind a bottom 5 pass blocking oline.

In that 3-game losing streak, after the bad play in the first game, Purdy saved the game on a FG that Moody missed, then against the Vikings, he got a concussion, started making mistakes from there, and then again against the Bengals. Bye week. He had time to regenerate and continued where he left off before the 3 bad games. The fact that TW and Deebo were injured then is also used as an explanation by those who, despite what they've seen, have no idea what this guy is capable of. The guest is right, if Purdy had been a 1st rounder, there would be no question about who the MVP is. By the way, I don't think Purdy really cares about the MVP, he's interested in the Lombardi trophy.

It’s so weird that they fixate on 3 games and ignore that Purdy is outperforming every qb with numbers that mirror past MVPs. The same team got to a Super Bowl without CMC or Trent Williams. The idea that Purdy played worse than CMC against the Vikings and Bengals is ludicrous -- Purdy was the number 1 rusher on the team against the Bengals.
@rldebro he was just cleared the day before from a concussion so that means no practice all week and probably still suffering from a concussion lightly
Yes, Purdy is 0-3 without Deebo. Last year, without Deboo, he was 3-0. This year he is 1-0 without Aiyuk. It’s a team sports. The ultimate goal is winning a superbowl.
I was about to make ah comment us 49ers fans should just follow how he takes it like whatever they going to say what they say on sports shows. If you been ah 49er as long as me for about 25 years you know this is the most comfortable any of us have felt maybe since Kap. The Gimmy G, Alex Smith and Jeff Garcia years our office was super game manager type plays. None of them is talking about how we were completely rush dominant those years we used to rotate 3 running back all game. And we did not expect big play like now but we got the job done. Our offense is amazing I watch other games and be bored.
If it's not their favorite QB up for MVP then it has to go to a non QB. It's Purdy and everyone knows it just can't admit it cause then their whole narrative around him is wrong.
The only reason people will be upset that Purdy may win MVP is because we have become conditioned to MVP’s being given to hall of fame players or players with a hall of fame trajectory. The majority of sports media does not see Purdy on that level so there is more resistance to acknowledging his overall value which is humongous.
Joy keeps reaching back to those 3 games that the 49ers lost MID-SEASON every time she talks about Brock Purdy ( no OT, no Debo, no CMC) but she doesn't reach back to those 3 games that Dallas lost with Dak Prescott. She doesn't reach to them 3 or 4 games that Philly lost with Jaylen hurts. They have even lost with Christian McCaffrey on the field too avg'd 45 yards in 3 losses. The argument is trash.
Everyone on the niners offense is having a great statistical yr. Yes CMCs numbers are approaching historic, but Deebo, Aiyuk, Kittle... all having great yrs. That's down to one guy, and that's Purdy... Having the passing stats he's having and being like 20th ish in attempts. Thats efficiency like we've never seen. Purdy is the MVP. Everyone around him is better for having him in that QB position.
They saying Jimmy G did the same exact thing, yet Elijah Mitchell was perfectly fine and helped the niners reach the Super Bowl. His injuries were what held him back. We never needed CMC but he has made us better, same as purdy.
Purdy is Brady-esque. Dissecting defenses is a super power. It’s better than running in circles and making a play. Methodically moving the sticks and executing OC gameplan is truly being the best QB
The team was good before CMC. Deboo was having an off year before the last 4-5 games. Ayuik is having a better year than deboo in fact. Kittle was being called washed last year cause he hadn't produced big numbers for a couple years until Brock took the reins. Brock is the mvp of the offense. Without him Ayuik was an average Wr amd deboo & kittle had been having pedestrian years. The 2 most valuable players on the offense is Trent & Purdy without a question.
Aiyuk is more valuable than Deboo for sure. Purdy, CMC, Trent, Aiyuk...then too many to list. Bosa, Chase, Deboo, Etc. The rest of the stars share the #5 spot.
The Deebo narrative driving me crazy because he was NOT having a good season until the eagles game. All these media heads act as if deebo has been amazing all year
When they went to the Super Bowl in 2019, they didn't have Trent, McCaffrey OR Brock. Does that mean that NONE of them can be great? Just a lazy argument. When they lost those three games CMC had less that 150 yards TOTAL in those three games. Purdy had over 700 total yards in just two of them. JUST STOP. Every NFL player has three or more losses.
Don’t forget CMC’s fumble against the Vikings which completely flipped momentum. Purdy was concussed, are we suddenly forgetting that? He plays an infinitely more valuable position than Running Back. Not discounting CMC, because we all know he’s the best, but they’d still go to the Super Bowl without him.

Brock = MVP CMC = OPOY Without Brock, this team is dead in the water. We may be able to get some wins in a season with Darnold, but I wouldn't rely on him trying to get us to the playoffs. Every team would be greatly benefitted by having a QB with the skillset Brock brings to the table, not only because he makes the weapons he has more lethal, but also because he exploits the potential in others as well. I love CMC. I think almost everyone would agree, he is one of the greatest, if not the greatest running back we've ever seen, but without CMC, I think we'd still be pretty potent. We still have talent, and although they may not be nearly as productive as CMC, they can still compete at a high level. Take Mason as an example. I really like what Mason has shown as limited as he's called on...and then there's Deebo...A WR that can literally do anything you ask of him. But it is really good to have an elite player like CMC you can count on.
Agreed. Also, interesting to point out that this past Sunday I was with a group of my friends watching the game. Both Purdy and CMC got banged up and exited the game around the same time. Not a single one of my friends said a word about CMC and instead were practically on the verge of crying about Brock possibly being seriously injured. Just seeing all of them in complete agreement on this point confirmed to me just how important Brock is to this team right now.
I don’t want it to happen but hypothetically if we got CMC injured still we have chance to win the game with remaining weapons, but if purdy got injured, we are dead. I really like CMC, and he is really the best weapon in the team, but Purdy is the one who picks the weapon and uses it.
That's the problem with these talking heads, they refused to differentiate between "best" and "valuable" CMC may be the best player on the 49ers but Purdy's value is what's more important.

The Niners have never scored like this under Kyle Shanahan. Usually by the end of the year, the Niners start scoring less, not more (as in this year).

Did CMC get the 49ers to the Super Bowl and the Championship? No, we were fine without CMC, but he definitely elevated the 49ers team. Brock Purdy elevated the 49ers to the moon. He's making everyone a pro bowler and put them in #1 seed and undisputed #1 team in the NFL.

Hurt’s team was stacked like the Niners last season but not this season!
The entire offense for the first time in the Shanahan era is better than the defense. Look at the way the media talks about us now, they talk about the offense FIRST. Our efficiency on the offensive side of the ball is putting up HISTORIC numbers. Part of it was acquiring McCaffrey because ever since we traded for him he has elevated our offense no question but I also think Purdy has something to do it with it as well. He adds an element to the offense we hadn’t seen before with Jimmy G like the scrambling ability and looking downfield for the big play which is why we’re so explosive. Both are true. In all honesty, they should split the MVP and make Purdy and McCaffrey co-MVP’s, it’s happened twice before.

Let’s get this straight, Purdy is MVP. They keep talking about his 3 game losing streak without weapons but the games really were not his fault. Browns: He led a game winning drive just for his kicker to miss a 41 yd FG. With McCaffery Deebo, and Trent out, he still put his team in a position to win. Vikings: First drive of the game CMC fumbled the ball in the red zone (not Purdys fault). Vikings also score a 60+ yd TD with 10 seconds left in the first half (defenses fault) Bengals: Purdy threw for 360+ yds and rushed for almost 60yds, and their defense allowed 31 points. Y’all keep blaming Purdy for the losses but he was still performing at an MVP level in that time and if one or two plays go different in that game, Purdy leads his team to a perfect season. Put some respect on his name!
The Niners have been deep in the playoffs without both Brock and Christian. I still dont think Deebo being out was as important as its made out to be. The whole team played poorly in those 3 games. It just kinda seemed like they were destined to lose those games to me.
I mean lets be real. Deebo has had one good year without Purdy in his career. With Purdy he's having a career year for TDs. Purdy makes the guys around him better.
@@renaldoawes2210Deebo is not having a career year he literally had 14tds 2 years ago with Jimmy G! Like Purdy is playing great but he’s not the one elevating the team is literally loaded.
49ers lost to Eagles by 24 with CMC, no Purdy. 49ers clowned Eagles by 23 with Purdy, who lead 6 straight TD drives. 49ers could win SB with RB Mason, but would be WAY worse with Darnold.
This argument is soo tedious we need to make soo many hurdles. It's the QB. Period. No team is great without elite QB play. And this guy is giving elite QB play. We are seeing historically efficient QB play from this guys. He's the MVP
Brock purdy had 422 yards in one of those losses and another one has a fourth quarter drive down the field and their kicker missed joy needs to shut up and stay in Miami
Hahaha gotta love how they bring up Jimmy G but forget that the 9ers dumped so much draft capital to get his replacement only to drop the replacement when it turned out Purdy's the truth
You know why some people in the media have a problem with Brock Purdy winning MVP?? They can't get that "Drafted in 7th round" out their head, but the problem with that is Brock Purdy still has to throw the ball to those offensive weapons around him....and he's doing that at a high level...give Brock Purdy his due!!
“They’ve seen it before, they’ve done this before”. It’s been 30 years since the niners were consistently laying beatdowns like they are now. They may have won games and gotten to the NFCCG and Super Bowl before, but they weren’t beating teams by 3 scores week in and week out and doing it in different ways each and every week.
Ok; but in the grand scheme of things none of that matters . Prime Example was the 2019 Ravens; A historical offense that didn't make it to the superbowl. Oh.. guess who did though? Jimmy G and the 49ers. Purdy has to prove himself because the 49ers has literally been having post-season success before.
@@eugenejohnson1867 What does he need to prove though? He has already proven that he elevates the offense to levels Kyle has not seen with this very team. He went in and won 2 playoff games last year then got hurt. If anything, that right there proves just how valuable he is to the team.
Mostert had 200 yards and 4 TDs against the Packers in the NFCCG. 9ers were doing this with RBs before CMC the argument of 9ers history is a terrible choice of who should be MVP.
I remember Joy saying that she can't forget the Niner's 3 game skid and how it hinders Brock's eliteness. I hope she's ready to say the same about Jalen...
Oh of course not. In her eyes, Jalen is allowed to have some bad games WITH ALL HIS WEAPONS, although he’s been in the league twice as long as Purdy. It’s ridiculous.
The only reason Purdy isn't the MVP in the mind of most media members is because he was the last pick in his draft class . Purdy has played well enough to win ,any other QB won't have all this discussion everyday about him
This is the first year that they decided stats don't mean anything. The numbers are far too inconvenient. If you ignore reality, you can float a new guy up there every week as Purdy continues to separate himself.
Not close. He’s not in everybody’s minds because we all can see him be check down Charlie all up and down the field and have his skilled players take it to the house. I really like him but Debo and cmac are literally carrying him to the mvp conversation. Don’t believe me? Look him his skilled players YAC numbers and how many times he’s successfully thrown the deep ball!!
@@dzknutzzz3449Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers had the same YAC numbers during their mvp seasons. You expect a receiver to just lay there after he catches the football? That's dumb logic bro
@@thinkbetter49ers they’ve had the same team with other QBz and went farther ie. jimmy g. And I don’t know everything about football but I did play d2 a@i kingsville for 3yrs so I know a little. Maybe not as much as you but I know a little.
People are also forgetting that brock purdy is doing this with a $900k salary. Him not getting a higher salary allows the 49ers to have all the weapons around him.
great take TJ. If defense does not repect Purdy, 49ers will become a one dimensional and that is much easier to defend. But now everyone knew Purdy can sling the rock and spread them around. That's where it so hard to defend them.
He can throw anywhere on the field. Jimmy can throw middle of the field and Purdy can do the same but Purdy making making outstanding sideline throws and deep throws and his mobility in the pocket. Most QB collapse under the blitz but Purdy burns them.
The fact that Vegas says he’s a clear cut favorite to win an MVP and CMC is fifth clearly says he more valuable. They aren’t winning a super bowl with Sam Darnold. The 49ers went far in spite of Jimmy G after his first full season with the team. They literally were 10-0 in games he didn’t throw a touchdown. In the Purdy era that would be unthinkable and shows how different he is compared to any QB Kyle has had.
Not disputing your take but Vegas places odds based on money. When people start throwing money into bets on Dak, the odds for dak winning go up, which limits the amount of money betting companies have to payout if the bet wins. Drastic swings from week to week are solely based on the amount of money being put on a certain player. The odds have to change when money comes in order for them to make money.
@@mxjosh18 I completely agree with this take but Vegas also has a lot of people in the background crunching numbers in order to present the odds to the people who put money on these things. Purdy isn’t just a slight favorite but a clear favorite to me is quite telling. The odds might shift again drastically on Monday but CMC being fifth in odds tells me that Vegas isn’t considering a real threat to win MVP which shows how QB oriented the award is.
@@nicholaskatsikas4904 i could see them maximizing profits by presenting odds that arent necessarily in line with how things are going in the nfl. People stop betting on Dak, so lets push Allen or Lamar to bettors. Is that in part what u are referring to?
It's Purdy...no question about it.... You win games by not just stopping the other team, you win games by out scoring the other team... Name one team that had a bad QB and a good RB and still won a chip
Why why did mccaffrey being out those weeks affect purdy so much that purdy looked average at best playing quarterback but when mccaffrey got back he all of a sudden was elite again?
Funny how many times they say “we saw Purdy in 3 game stretch” when for sure they have not seen any of those games. They based their opinions on highlights and box scores. Sure purdy made mistakes in those games that cost them the games but he definitely was moving the ball up and down the field. CMC also struggled in those games and the defense was allowing 400+ yds. Also purdy made through some dots. Against cincy he threw two passes to kittle in triple coverage. Just straight dimes. Brock also won 3 games last year without deebo. All that being said Trent is MVP.
See my opinion on costing the team the game is different. Sure, Purdy did not lead them to a win, but nothing he did cost the teams points, and thus, they were already losing when he made his mistakes.
I honestly don´t care if CMC or Brock becomes the MVP. The 6th Lombardi is all that matters. But the lack of respect for Brock Purdy is unreal. We saw how good this offense was with CMC without Brock last year before jimmy g got hurt and what happened when Brock came in. He took this offense to a whole nother level. He is the main reason this offense looks this dominant. Brock is aggressive and actually looks to throw downfield instead of just checkdowns. TJ is the only one that knows what he´s talking about
Brock Purdy is about to have the single greatest 49er QB season of all time.. and that’s including Montana and Young.. think about that.. and Was Steve Young a better player than Jerry Rice? No but he still won mvp .. it’s because the Qb is the most valuable position on the field…
Here's why Brock is the 49ers MVP: when the Niners went on a 3 game losing streak, he was the only one who was blamed even though he wasn't the only one who played poorly. CMC was just as bad during that stretch and so was the defense but they didn't catch any flack. The player who gets blamed for the losses is the most valuable player on the team because it means their performance is directly linked to the teams success.
Most VALUE-able Player is Purdy. He is being paid peanuts (870k) for the game he is playing. He is not eating cap. That’s why they were able to pay Bosa and all these players. Talk about that!
Its not defense 1st for the 49ers lol offense has been putting out the numbets every game. Purdy put up over 400 yards against the bengals in that loss
And they forgot that he drove the length of the field, from behind, against the number one defense at the time and put the team in position to kick a field goal. That loss was on the kicker. It is clear that they didn't watch the games that they are referring to.
Exactly... the offense struggled in those 3 games and what happened... 9ers lost. 9ers are like the cheifs of the past few seasons where they outscore you to win... but that would be giving Brock credit... so now all of a sudden it's a defensive team... 2019 yes... 2023 no
CMC struggled during the 49ers 3 game skid but you dont hear nobody talk about that. I can tell you why it isn't brought up. It is because CMC was a 1st round draft pick that is why. Just like if Purdy was a 1st round draft pick you wouldn't hear anything about his weapons being the reason 49ers win. 100% FACTS!!
All of Kyle’s RBs have gone on to other jobs starting in the NFL, after many were undrafted like Mostert or Breida. CMC has been amazing by Kyle has proven he can coach up RB talent as well as his dad
And Mostert is leading the league in rushing TDs this year so it’s not like he was insignificant. Didn’t he broke the NFL record for rush yards in a championship game against the Packers? So yeah the run game was always there without CMC.
For ppl that say the 9ers went further without Purdy or went to the SB before he got there, I’d tell them to look at track & field. If you have a 4x1 team that has already won a Bronze medal but the 1st leg could be much better- once you get a better runner, it takes the team to new heights which makes the new addition invaluable. Purdy is invaluable. Jimmy G managed the game but Brock makes plays that keep the offense moving.

That is so true, if Lance had Purdy numbers, they'd probably say that Kyle Shanahan was a coaching genius.

I think we had more games less than 20 points, but still win because of the defense before. We kept staying nervous with Jimmy until the final clock runs down….
Now we are sitting in the couch, relaxed and enjoying watching the game.
Now, we can rely on the offense carrying the Team even if our D is not performing because they know the offense will score points now
CMC being on the team also has your points per game gone up by 10.
I wonder why...👀

They starting scoring more as soon Mccaffery got there why do people forget that part.

No one ever does and it drives me nuts. I can't stand it when these analysts bring up those three games, yet they don't have the decency to actually look at the details or stats for them...
Remember when they were talking about Dak and Hurts records don't matter as that a team win or loss. Now they matter.

Its Purdy. He has to deliver EVERY play. Without Purdy in nfcc 49ers lose. Its Purdy no doubt

So then create an award focused on just quarterbacks….I’ve never been a fan of technicalities but if you aren’t even the most valuable on the team how does he rightfully deserve it.
Joy and Shady should talk about the stretch Jalen Hurts is going through right now instead of weeks 6-8 of Purdy’s. That was ages ago, players evolve.
Man Jalen Hurts just lost three games with his pro bowl players, and no one talking about that, give Purdy his props.

Man stop it, don't disrespect Tom
The team was good before CMC. Deboo was having an off year before the last 4-5 games. Ayuik is having a better year than deboo in fact. Kittle was being called washed last year cause he hadn't produced big numbers for a couple years until Brock took the reins. Brock is the mvp of the offense. Without him Ayuik was an average Wr amd deboo & kittle had been having pedestrian years. The 2 most valuable players on the offense is Trent & Purdy without a question.
Deebo and Kittle down cause Jimmy couldn't throw into the ocean.

Without Brock, this team is dead in the water.

The entire offense for the first time in the Shanahan era is better than the defense. Look at the way the media talks about us now, they talk about the offense FIRST. Our efficiency on the offensive side of the ball is putting up HISTORIC numbers.
Vikings also score a 60+ yd TD with 10 seconds left in the first half (defenses fault)
Bengals: Purdy threw for 360+ yds and rushed for almost 60yds, and their defense allowed 31 points.

He can throw anywhere on the field. Jimmy can throw middle of the field and Purdy can do the same but Purdy making making outstanding sideline throws and deep throws and his mobility in the pocket. Most QB collapse under the blitz but Purdy burns them.
Tj spitting facts. All these insane purdy takes are a desperate ploy for attention from people the nfl forgot about long ago
Jimmy G is 26-5 not throwing a td.
@@mxjosh18 I completely agree with this take but Vegas also has a lot of people in the background crunching numbers in order to present the odds to the people who put money on these things.
And the Cleveland game even as poor as Brock played he got them down for the Winning FG and the Kicker turned into Scott Norwood!
Let's give credit to the offense line they're allowing purdy and MC caffrey to do great
Here's why Brock is the 49ers MVP: when the Niners went on a 3 game losing streak, he was the only one who was blamed even though he wasn't the only one who played poorly. CMC was just as bad during that stretch and so was the defense but they didn't catch any flack. The player who gets blamed for the losses is the most valuable player on the team because it means their performance is directly linked to the teams success.
I would agree but then they don't give him credit for the wins LOL.
Most VALUE-able Player is Purdy. He is being paid peanuts (870k) for the game he is playing. He is not eating cap. That’s why they were able to pay Bosa and all these players. Talk about that!
So then Jalen Hurts should've never been mentioned in the mvp conversation. It should've been his offense of line if we're going to play this game
Philly won a sb with foles, hurts can never be talked about as an mvp in Philly. Rules are rules.
Shady blamed the defense, Joy blamed Purdy
By Shadys logic, Niners made the Superbowl without CMC. They had Mostert, Wilson Jr. , Breida and McKinnon
And Mostert is leading the league in rushing TDs this year so it’s not like he was insignificant. Didn’t he broke the NFL record for rush yards in a championship game against the Packers? So yeah the run game was always there without CMC.
What scary is we dont know which is better between 49ers offense or 49ers defense.
Definitely our offense. Defense is kind of wobbly rn with the injuries.
