Who knew the evolution of the drumset would be so intersting. I can' t stop watching, this stuff should be shown on the History Channel or something, but I wouldn't know anyways, haven't had cable or satelite for years. I prefer to listen to music and play.
jlarsena Thanks! These videos are just the tip of the iceberg. If you're interested in a 3-hr DVD that gets into drum set evolution in a much, much deeper way, check out the DVD"The Century Project." You can view the trailer and order here: danielglass.com/merchandise/
Same. My favourite genres to listen to are 60s/70s rock music and New Orleans Jazz, but the best music to drum to because it both allows you to do incredible amounts of stuff and also requires lots of skill is in fact bebop
Took me 10 videos to figure out what was "wrong" with the drums.... they're setup lefty! Just like mine!!! Lefties represent!!! Now I gotta get that DVD and the other one that goes with it... Love those old drums!!!
G60syncro Thanks! These videos are just the tip of the iceberg. If you're interested in a 3-hr DVD that gets into drum set evolution in a much, much deeper way, check out the DVD"The Century Project." If you like vintage drums, the companion DVD is called "TRAPS." You can view trailers for both DVDs and order here: danielglass.com/merchandise/
Could watch this history all day, thnx....!!!

Part 9 please . merci .😉
Bebop/Hard Bop is the best drum era in my opinion.

G60syncro yep same with mine, even though I’m right handed 🤷🏾♂️😂
Where’s part 9?
Must have edited the last part because you simply mentioned Krupa, but didn’t detail he added toms to the kit.
SO refreshing to NOT hear it referred to as a "kit." Thanks

What happend to episode 9?
I would use Billie's bounce as an example
Those Crescent rides... Mmmmm...
I wish they did a segment on electric drums
Not using the matching snare...it’s in the background.
VERY NİCE GREAT
is bebop where the progressive sound originated?
whats the name of the song of the intro??
Royal Crown Revue - Hey Pachuco!
thanks! Заур Гусейнов

Left handed drummer's rule
I second that :o)
I don't know all that much....and I'm probably the world's most okayest drummer...lol
I can't watch this anymore.... To much repetition.... Why chop it up like this?
