I was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1940, and I was very sick with asthma till I was ten,
I yearned for Hawaii as a dream to fulfil. I did get to Kauai, Ohaho and maui but it wasn't,t my Destiney to stay longer then a month. Polihale on Kauai was the tops though. I now live in Vancouver, British Columbia
Canada. It is the best in every way. Now that I am old and have fallen pelvic floor it is hard to walk.
There is a small thrift sore nearest me open 4 days a week. ...in the west end, the gay section near English Bay Beach. So it is soothing to watch your calming banter. Thank-you.

Hello Miss Ginger! Welcome to our little patch of UA-cam. It truly warms our hearts that you enjoy and share in the energy we endeavor to put out into the world. We are so happy you got to visit the islands, no matter how long you stayed. It's amazing to have the blessing of a dream fulfilled. The islands always leave a lasting impression. Hopefully, you make it out to the thrift store near you every now and then. "Old" is just a word that we have to give power to for it to mean anything. I feel your youthful energy. That is where your truth lies. We wish you much peace. Thank you so much for watching! Take care!♥

Lol at the golf shirts selling, who would have thought!? But then again, I’m always on the look out for colored tennis shirts 🤣

Hi Mikee! Yeah, it was the most random thing. Our best find was a pair of Christian Louboutin wedges for $5. We flipped the for almost $200. Crazy! Finds like that were the best!

Great music again! I especially like the bgm during the Savers part, had Austin Powers mo-jo vibes 🕺.Lol at Connie geek out at the Star Trek merch 😆. Speaking of geeking out, are you all going to see “64”? From the trailer it looks like sci-fi fun, maybe Aliens meets Jurassic Park with Adam Driver 🤩! My preferred drink is bourbon/whiskies too. If you did a live stream cocktail hour...i’d be there 👋😊🍻!

Thank you! Tina edits all our videos and chooses all the music. she's amazing. I don't think we will see "64" in the theater. But I will definitely stream it as soon as it's available. It is definitely my type of movie. A live stream happy hour is a really cool idea and sounds like so much fun. We will keep that in mind. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for coming along on our journey with us. Take care!

How coincidental! I used to sell thrift store clothes finds on ebay when I was between jobs. I made quite a lot of money too. The popular thing that I sold were old 80's Lacoste alligator shirts. It was hard work though. Sifting through each shirt on the racks made my shoulders hurt!

Hi Misty! That's so cool. I can imagine how the 80's Lacoste shirts would be popular. It was hard work to find good stuff that you know would sell. It was fun but sometimes exhausting too. One time we went into a thrift store and found a pair of Christian Louboutin wedges just sitting there on a shelf! They were priced for like $5 (crazy!) and we turned around and flipped them for almost $200. Finds that like that were always the most fun! Have a wonderful rest of your week! 😊

Eco-Town was fun to browse, especially for all of the vintage Sci-Fi items. Definitely one of our favorite stops. Hope you get to check them out soon!

Aloha folks! I was so psyched to see your thrifting experience. I like thrifting and have found some fun cool treasures over the years. Neal goes for the books & has found some great deals. I head for the craft supplies old frames and sometimes textiles but in my area, we have to be very careful of bugs- roaches in electronics, bedbugs in furniture, and plush stuff. Even in Maine where it's cold! Our Savers has even put out pots and pans with dried old food left in them! 😬 The places you went to especially eco-town and harbors vintage look beautiful and clean. We do have one place like that but they're on the higher-priced side. Otherwise, those places are great for dinnerware (made after 1978 because of Lead laws in glazes) housewares, costume jewelry, etc. I found a cool old purse that was in rough shape that I plan on painting and thrift stores are great for unique opportunities like that.
I'm also always interested to see where you two like to get coffee as I'm also a huge coffee fan and love trying new places, so thanks for including the coffee and tea runs! ❤️ We Always love your energy and positive vibes, and I appreciate your great editing and everything about your videos tbh! ✨️ Enjoy your week, Connie and Tina! Much Aloha, Samantha and Neal 💐😊🫰

Hi Samantha!! We spent a lot of time thrifting in San Diego. We love finding really cool thrift shops with cool finds. It's true, the reality is you do have to be careful of what you may be bringing home when you are thrifting used items. Including the energy that may be attached. We both love the book sections of thrift stores. We are avoiding collecting books right now though. It's a thing for me. We very quickly could accumulate 500 pounds of books. Lol.
I am also a crafter and can easily amass a ridiculous collection of crafting and art supplies. We had to get rid of so much stuff when we moved here. Michael's is my favorite arts and crafts supply store. I really hate that they don't have one here. Ben Franklin's doesn't hold a candle to it. One day I'll have a crafting room. ☺
We LOVE coffee and sharing all the different places we go to try new coffee. We love supporting "local".
Tina does all of our editing. She picks all of the music too! She is an absolute whiz. Her knowledge and talent blows me away every day.
Enjoy your week! Thank you for watching! Take care!♥

I think savers is more expensive then the other spots but they are more organized.

      Hi Alyssa,
Savers was definitely more organized. Both locations had great bargains in different areas. Savers also has bargain days. Thank you for watching! Take care!

Yay! You'll find some really cool items. All the stores we checked out were so different but each offered a variety of good stuff. Eco-Town was really fun to explore because they had so much good vintage sci-fi items. Thanks for watching and hope you find a lot of good stuff on your visit!

Hi, thank you for your beautiful video and quick question how far these thrift stores from let’s say the Waikiki Hilton? Thank you in advance for your answer, and you gained a new subscriber.

    • @overjoyedonoahu
      @overjoyedonoahu  Рік тому +1

Hi! Thank you for subscribing! So, none of the thrift stores we showcased in our video are near the Waikiki area. You can possibly Uber to them. There may also be thrift or vintage stores closer to Waikiki. You can always check Yelp when you get here. If you are looking for cost effective shopping, there are some stores (like Old Navy, Marshall's, and Ross) in the Ala Moana Center, which isn't too far from Waikiki. You can hop on a bus and it's a straight shot to the mall. Walmart is a block from the mall too. Once you are at the Ala Moana Center, you can walk out of the mall and over to Walmart. Wear comfy shoes. You'll get lots of exercise here. Walking and riding the bus are very much part of the culture and everyday life here on the island. I hope this helps. Thank you so much for watching! Travel safe! Take care!

I forgot to ask, is it within walking distance like a long strip can you walk to the front of the hotel?
