A very good guest , Rick a very wise man!
My old mate rode till he died at 80
When the future only exists in the rearview mirror, it's time to trade the bike for a LaZyboy. Until that time, keep kicking the grim reaper in the nuts.😆
Hi guys, I must be the super wanker of all wankers according to Angus, as at 72yrs old I ride a motorbike, I ride an E-mountain bike and I ride a carbon Giant road bike and wear LICRA! You know you can be a jack of all trades without being a wanker. LOL. Love your podcasts, you guys are the best. If I didn't live in sweaty Qld would love to do some rides with you, but I don't think my 25yr old Suzuki Freewind would make it down there, Cheers.
Well, I watched for the second time as I do every week. Fall asleep to it and then pick up where I left off. Thank you again for such great entertainment. I think you hit max capacity with 4 plus wife, any more will dilute the conversation. Keep it up gentalman!
G'day Mark, I left a message on your last podcast in respects of the sound quality, I noticed this one is sounding similar to the last one, so guessing you have left your mixer settings the same since the last podcast, anyway my message was:- 'Had to turn the low end [80Hz] down by about -10 decibels, Mark, on my mixer, to get a cleaner signal thru my studio monitor speakers. Your audio output, on this podcast, I would say is slightly bass heavy, which gives a nice warm tone tho' does make it also sound slightly muffled, a good compromise might be to turn your lower end down by around -5db'. Great podcast! Keep on, keeping on!
Hey fellas, you mentioned the KTM 640 and it twigged my mind to recall that-that was the era from when they got the Knick name of Pumpin 🎃?
They had “a lot” of orange on them and it was the different shade of colour to match haha
Good on ya fellas 👍
There is a mid week bike meet near me where a 69 year old would be a youngster.
Hello, Mark, Naomi, Angus, Grumpy and Rick from SA.... Mark why can't you use Whisky as a light off road bike that can handle the sand? Change is good so like me, some times you need to change bikes because you may have a need to try some thing different. I am looking forward to the next Pod Cast as a Guest....LOL....taking about bikes and experience, no politics thanks...LOL.... Yes I am charing bikes....health issues... David....Adelaide/Kilburn......Triumph Street Scrambler.....
Here is a good question for next podcast.. If crocodile Dundee rode a motorcycle, what do you reckon it would be?
TRiggered:
Hi Fellas, Nay,
I listen/watch every week! today I found myself at 11:50 thinking ," hmm 10 mins , I should be able to get the podcast soon".
Angus , one day we will meet, we don't agree on much 😀 ( work in public health so we should never discuss immunisation , pandemic etc.🤣🤣). I cycle and ride a motorbike ( its an old bike -73 years , I ride it for fun and in a sense, is an adventure bike because you never quite know whats going to happen- although it is quite reliable.) I also ride a bicycle as a commuter to work most days - sometimes in lycra. I have also ridden for fun, socialising, on beach road, and sat at coffee shops - after 2 hours of riding , not 10 mins - in lycra. I only shave my face !😎
You have all made a fair assessment of my impressions of cycling - with some outrageous and erroneous generalisations as well. There's pack mentality, rude riders , considerate riders, elitists , racers, hackers , the full gamut just like motorcycling. Almost every day I will nearly be knocked off by dickhead , blind , rude motorists who just don't care; and then there's the haters. You can hate cyclists, its a free country, BUT broadcasting hate on your podcast just encourages hateful action by other road users - and is not acceptable. If you don't like the fact that cyclists don't pay rego, tell your local MP .
Have a look at this; for some cycling laughs and to understand the rules of cycling.
www.velominati.com/ it starts a bit serious and then get funny in a kind of WTF way. - a bit like some old bloke that you are never sure if he's serious or not! Rule 12 applies to motorcycles as well.
I hope to get into adventure off roaders. a CRF ? and until then will keep tuning in for the podcast. 🏍🚲 Thanks.
As long as you're on two wheels you will have fun - except for scooters ( eg;vespa). Ha Ha
"Cyclists" that people hate so easily do not represent the majority of people who like to ride bicycles. The mountain bike community and road bike community are very different with very little cross over. Road cyclists can be the biggest wankers but I never tar everyone with the same brush, that cyclist that might annoy you for 18 seconds might be the surgeon that saved someones life yesterday and he's out cycling today to clear his mind. Being open minded is a full time job.
Well said mate , l ride both and the cyclists l know are mostly good people , plenty of dickhead motorcyclists 🤦♂️
I’m 69 just bought a new NT1100 Honda to replace my Africa Twin which I wasn’t using longer I own it the less I liked it 😮I’m enjoying my riding and no plans to stop till I fall off the twig 😂
I stopped riding at 80 years old because of feeling frail and I did not want to be a danger to other road users.
I will be 71 in about a month. Still riding ,but did downsize for off road.
Good Onya Bill 👍
luv Alistairs opinions on mountain bikers an others even though I have been one in the past
If the scram isn't an adventure bike, then I'm going to have an interesting time on a BMW R90/6.
Muc off has been around for years, never used it myself but what i heard is a pretty good product for what it is.
Guys from MADTV are currently using the scram in the Himalayas. Doing the job. Muc Off great products. The aerosol silicon spray and motocycle protectant A+
Some firm making overland trailers in Australia there are making a solar panel system that will charge bike up while your travelling along .
I heard that same rumor about the CF Moto having the the KTM engine.
Re electric bikes… if they come up with a swap and go standard for batteries such as they have with BBQ gas bottles I think electric bikes would be fine. Can have some at home charging or in the car as spares… would also fix the EV car issues. A bike uses 1 or 2 cells and a car may use 10 or 20… also means you do not have to worry about battery condition… I remember having to get bottles checked myself when they went out of survey date… pain in the ass swap and go is the go…
did anyone else think Rick was Mick Doohan from the Thumbnail
Mark you seen the new triumph triple scrambler coming out looks awesome
Only 69 😂 I'm touring and moto camping long distances around Europe in my 70s. On a R1250RS and a R1200R, bike touring trip to Oz due in 2025, I'll be popping by Bendigo for my hour of biker bits blog fame 😂 all being well😉
Good Onya mate! 👍
And another thing why spend all the money on building charge station when it's cheeper to design a alternator that charges as you ride
The sound is playing up again.
If you look at CF Moto's line up and the New Himmy 452...The price of the 450MT will be around the $8500AUD ride away. If you want 25kg less weight it will cost 2x more.
Most zero bike have a recharge system as like an engine brake on a petrol engines bike or downhill when you shut throttle off
My close neighbour 79 still riding on and off road, he can still show up the young guns.
In bike world that isnt even nearly old.
I'm 70. So!
Mark muc offs a pump bottle snow foam that removes muck with no wiping
Two tubes Nigel just picked a triumph 1200 scrambler xe up
The KTM500 appeals compared the 450 due to the longer stroke, 72mm, compared to 63mm (same bore) The 500 'can' be ridden a bit lazier and in the tourque. "easier', for another way to put it. Less revs and freindlier to ride. The 450 is zippy, revvy, in comparison. The Dakar is limited to 450 to keep the insane speeds out of it and aligns to the typical class limits. I would not draw the needs of the Dakar to be close to the needs of an ADV bike where the 500 proves its usefulness.
Nah the kove a Dakar bike that you can change the mapping to an expert level or novice .
It is illegal in Victoria to ride 2 abreast.
I'm pretty sure it's illegal in Victoria to walk the streets. I walk every day and my nerves are shot.
Angus take a chill mate, I'm 71 still riding motorcycles I have seen it all.
There are dickheads in motorcycling, cycling & cars.
Lets all get along mate.
No need to take this piss lads it was a serious question about muc off
G'day Guys and girl, firstly love the podcast but have to say fairly narrow minded rant from Angus regarding cyclists, most of the fastest motorcycle racers on earth cycle to stay fit, Daniel Sanders, Casey Stoner, Troy Bayliss to name a few (and if you dont know who they are you should) are they fuckwits aswell???...... Also if Angus think cyclists should ride heavier bikes not lighter because its all about training, maybe he should take the 1090 (not the 700) out to the little desert in the summer, loaded with 50Ltrs of fuel and 10Ltrs of water, enough to cross the simpson, all for the sake of training....
Hydrogen engines run on hydrogen not water water is what comes out the exhaust but the process to make the hydrogen does not happen on the car or bike look it men
What you are talking about is a hydrogen generator, and it has already been done by individuals within this country.
