This man lost everything. His family, his arm, his memories, and now the only person he could trust even when he couldn't trust his own mind. His best friend. Now they're telling him that he is ''free'' but he doesn't know how to find his way back to himself. Man, Bucky's story breaks my heart so much. I already felt so heartbroken after today's episode and this video was the icing on the cake.
Nonetheless, beautiful video. Made me think there's still hope for him. And I'm so excited to see the rest of his journey. Thank you so much🖤
I like to think and hope in the end the message will be obvious -- theres still hope for everybody no matter how dark things seem :)

Steve was the only one who could truly understand him and relate to him on a deep level... It’s so sad that they decided he was better off - I think the Steve we’ve all known and loved would have never left Bucky alone in a world he barely recognizes...
I mostly agree but at the same time I think there is a mutual trust between good friends that sometimes we have to handle our own business and that we trust our friends to be alright. No times aren’t easy but our pasts together (our memories together) will push us through it. Obviously at the end he will get better through his friendship with Sam. A friendship Steve helped cultivate. Still touching Bucky even after he left

My pov is full with nostalgia for their friendship and that makes it seem harder to move on from things. I guess Bucky being 106 might make things even harder!
I really hope he adjusts eventually, it's just painful the thought of him being basically one of the few left of his own generation - and alone. He's experienced so many things that "normal" people could potentially never experience in an entire lifetime, and it makes hard to relate with someone. It's like there's no common background. (With Steve he had it)
He's like a very very old men! I wish he finds happiness somehow :)

The Steve we were shown for countless movies and the Steve of the comics not only would have never left Bucky, but he actually hates the past. Comic Steve has had opportunities before to return to the past, but he has always not been content there and decided to return to the future. He felt even more unhappy and out of place back in the 40s than he did when he first woke up in the future. And movie Steve constantly said the Avengers and the compound were his home, and Chris Evans talked about how Bucky was Steve's link to both his life in the past and his life in the future, which made his relationship with Bucky one of the most important. It doesn't make sense for Steve to have left, so the only logic comes from outside the story: they needed to write Steve off because Chris Evans was done playing him, so they chose a really OOC way to get rid of him so they wouldn't have to kill him. Also, his relationship with Peggy never would have worked out. Lots of people love to forget that Peggy and the rest of the founders of SHIELD hired Arnim Zola, the Hydra Nazi who "killed" and brainwashed Bucky knowing that he was a bad guy. Steve and Peggy obviously have very different morals and a romance between them doesn't make sense because of them. There's an alternate reality in comics where Steve never got frozen (pretty sure it's House of M) and in this reality, he married Peggy and they ended up getting a divorce due to irreconcilable differences in their morals. The only thing I can say that makes Steve's ending any bit better is that at least Bucky seemed to know what was going on, like Steve talked it over with him. He wasn't surprised that he left, which means Steve didn't just ditch him. He told him about what he wanted to do and Bucky probably told him to go for it because he wanted Steve to be happy.
look wanda went through a lot, but look at bucky for a second.
- no family
- lost an arm
- tortured and forced to kill for almost a century
- on the run alone for two years in a completely foreign world to the one he left
- then, just as he was hitting a calm point (wakanda), he was pulled back into a fight only to die
- came back to life to fight AGAIN
- his best friend left to return to their time without him (like he might've asked bucky if he wanted to go, but still, he lost his best friend either way)
but wanda is still the marvel character that's has it the hardest right?
yeah, that's what i thought.
(ps: i absolutely love wanda as a character, she's easily in my top three favourites, i'm just tired of everyone saying she's had it the hardest after we saw her in wandavision. don't get me wrong, she's had it rough, i'd just say she's had it the worst *second to* bucky.)

i get what you mean but i don’t think there is a point in comparing their misery, they both had it extremely hard but also experienced diffrent things and we should not judge what caused who more pain

I think he needs someone to understand at least the need of keep fighting, someone who carries some guilt on her own so they could share a ground. I honestly think that the girl in the sushi restaurant will be kind of judgmental of his life, and never fully support him.

What does a free man do when he spent so much of his life being controlled and told what to do?
The whole episode broke my heart for Bucky, I so badly want him to find the peace he deserves. Sadly, I don't think that he will get that till he's dead. I look forward to seeing the rest of the series, I really hope that Sam is able to help him in some way and give him someone to trust again.

this is so incredible and so emotional too! bucky is probably my favourite mcu character, his story is so interesting so i am so beyond excited to see his character on more depth in this show. i really hope he finds the peace and happiness that he deserves.

The cap in A4 is so different from the cap we know from before. A1 steve hesitated when he heard about Bucky during a fight against who he believed to be Loki, CATWS Steve told Bucky “I’m with you to the end of the line”. Civil War Steve did everything he could to protect Bucky. Yet in A4 Steve left Bucky alone in this world.
Steve was created to be a hero, but they also made him a liar.

The girl in the first episode was sweet but bucky has to be with someone who can at least touch part of his trauma. I don't think a civilian is it. Ngl i'm a steve/bucky shipper all the way but they were never gonna go with that so i hope at least he finds love, understanding and acceptance wherever he can. I love him and i love your video! ❤️
I saw this video pop up and immediately thought "Ah yes, Zoe's already coming for our souls" and sure enough, I was right. You captured all my favorite moments from this episodes, all the little heartbreaking details, and mixed them in with so many amazing moments from the films. I hope you do more with future episodes because your edits are beautiful and you crush my soul with such grace that I just keep coming back for more.
I think right now Bucky needs to find who he is without fighting and sadly without Steve. Personally I don’t think he should have a love interest now or in the foreseeable future because we literally saw one of his therapy sessions where he sassed the therapist (I can’t really argue though since I was a bitch to my rude therapist 😂). For me I just want Bucky to find peace and he needs to find that within himself before even thinking about a relationship. So if he ends up with sharon I’m simply going to throw hands because at this point she’s just super soldier hopping like no ma’am
I can not think of another MCU character (except Wanda) who has been more impacted by their trauma! Let him rest, please! D'X

He isn't waking from nightmares: they're memories and which aren't the problem. The real world is where the problem lies.
And when he's told he's free, he replies "to do what?" The problem is that the only thing he knows what to do, he's not allowed to do anymore, so it's an absolutely legitimate question.
I think something will happen in episode 2 that means Sam has to come up and intervene and that's where the real story starts.
And at the end of episode 6? Sam becomes Captain America and Bucky stays in Louisiana.

this just made me sooo emotional omg fdjskdsjk it's amazing!
"Other than that I just went from one fight to another for 90 years." (So he was 26 when he died. Shit.) That line and Bucky seemingly loving Louisiana and giving goo-goo eyes to Sarah Wilson as well as finally getting closer to Sam really tells me he is going to retire at the end of the season. And I think that is truly a proper and satisfying ending for his character too. To be with an incredible woman like Sarah, to have insta kids lol, and to be truly brothers with Sam. And Sam would feel so much more at ease being Captain America knowing that Bucky was there to protect THEIR family just in case.
To quote the Crown - "A simpler life. A happier life."

How Marvel keeps making these heart-breaking characters, I don't know. I cried for Wanda and I will cry for Bucky, too. Funny thing is, I was never a huge marvel fan, just because there was never enough character-growth and too much action. But now, since they are making these awesome tv shows, I'm literally getting obsessed. I have no idea who they hired, but that person is a genius. And the casting is spot-on, very talented actors.
