Unbelievably, Rachel came to me at 9 years old with no ballet training. She did her first plie just 4.5 years before this video that was taken in February! Born to dance.

Beautiful dancing, astonishing technically but almost and more importantly I think, just such a beautiful quality, beautiful feeling, incredibly moving performance... It so lifts my spirits and my hope for the future, to see a piece like this, which, albeit a HUGE technical feat for one so young, is also all about and overflowing with artistry rather than gymnastic ability.... Congratulations Rachel and Jacqueline - this made my day today, here in Scotland! It has filled me with hope. Flawless technique is essential, and gymnastics are fine but artistry is everything, everything........
