Lyrics that surprised me the first time I read them, just because the music is more 'party rock' than the soundtrack for a lesson in conflict-resolution, but that's what LOVEBITES gives us. Challenging truths coupled with the perspective and methods to emerge empowered and progressing toward our goals. I love this band! That song that was 'suggested' right at the end, Bravehearted, is drummer Haruna's song. She wrote music and lyrics. Very highly recommended. Seeing her so happy and proud, playing it with her friends/bandmates is priceless. As a next song would be fitting with the 'theme' of this one, as the title implies, but none of their songs are ever 'out of place' at any time. They are consistently so encouraging, even the songs they were writing years before our current world challenges that make these songs/lyrics even more relevant today. This whole set in the studio like this is them performing their entire first full CD release last October 25th, the 3rd Anniversary of it's release, so all the songs were written about 4 years ago. I have to also say that there is no “male” equivalent band at this level of skill, talent, showmanship, musicianship, composition prowess. They are not a band defined by the genre of the members. They are a unique supergroup full stop.

I played guitar in a few bands when I was younger, and I always preferred jamming in the basement over actually playing on stage in front of an audience. Maybe stage fright or something, I've never really been comfortable in the spotlight or under a microscope or whatever, so I was a lot more relaxed when it was just us practicing, and so I also really enjoy these live streams that are happening due to Covid, where it's just the band in their studio or rehearsal space and it's just them and I happened to luck out and get invited to hang out with them. So yeah, I know what you mean.
