Way to tame the hardest section hike in GA!!!! My son and I are going Neel Gap to NC in the middle of May. After watching this, we may need to budget more time to finish...
Michael Brozino thank you! It was a challenging hike but hopefully it will inspire others to spend more time exploring outdoors and on the trail! Cheers
Outstanding! One of your best videos to date! Congratulations to 3 for your first AT hike. That pack was a monster! I had the same problem with my CNOC bag popping open (user error). Hopefully you can soak and back flush the filter to fix it. Thanks for the video!
The adventures of Smalls and Talls thanks for the idea to soak the sawyer. I kept it on the back of my pack for easy access which might be why it froze. Yes, he learned the hard way not to take 40 pounds on the Appalachian Traill. I got by at 20 with food, water, and winter gear. Thanks for watching! See you on the trail soon. Let’s keep moving!
Hope you get the opportunity to hike the AT! I wish I could leave work for 4 months, but I don't think my company would understand. For now, it is State by state so section hike it is for me. Have fun out there! Cheers and thanks for watching!
I’m stepping off Springer Feb 2020. Thanks for sharing some of the sights I’ll see early on. Question: Were you able to determine why your Sawyer failed? Was it new? Frozen? Previously used and dried up? Any advice would be appreciated. I’m taking both a Squeeze and Aquamira. Great video✌️👊
WILD ON THE TRAIL I’m going to post a video on this later this week. In short, it was not new, it didn’t freeze and at the time I was unable to back flush the squeeze. Stay tuned as I will also post Day 2 of this hike this week. Finishing up edits now. Thanks for watching and please subscribe for future Appalachian Trail hikes. Cheers!
WILD ON THE TRAIL just wanted to send you this review of the Sawyer Squeeze gear failure. Hope this is helpful. ua-cam.com/video/UouIx5PNkmA/v-deo.html
I'm very jealous! I was supposed to do that leg tee weekend b4 I left Georgia but time didn't allow it. Reviewing it on the maps it looked like that would be a real butt kicker that first day! Thanks for feeding my AT addiction while I'm back home in Texas!
Steven Waling how have you been? This section truly tested us at times but the views were so worth it. I will be posting day 2 soon. Thanks for watching! Let’s keep moving!
Nice video man! looks like y'all had a lot of fun. Can't wait to do that hole Trail one day. Honestly been trying to stay away from it for a while now just because I know if I hike one section I'll be dying to finish it and just can't do it right now. Thanks for sharing!
Snooch tv thanks for watching! We had a great time except for almost freezing to death. As a starter, I would recommend hiking from Tesnatee Gap to Neels gap and get a shuttle back for a quick 6+ mile hike. However, you are right. Once you start the AT you find yourself planning the next trip on the way home. Cheers! Let’s keep moving!

I'm doing this section over labor day weekend... super nervous.
This section is challenging! The hike up to Rocky & Tray Mountain is intense, but the views are great!
@@MetroOnTheMove I’ve done everything from Springer to Unicoi, one weekend at a time so… in theory, I can do this.
@@KatWomanHikes yep! You got this! Have fun out there!!
