Hamilton had a 1 year +1 year option with Mercedes. Ferrari went straight in with 2 years +1 year option. Mercedes have been acting weird with him as well. Gets a podium no one celebrates with him.
Also Sainz was about to sign. So it had to happen now or never
Merc is done imo. It's why Hamilton is leaving.

The Taycan (or the Macan EV) would be the one Porsche I would check the box for the Burmester sound system. You would benefit from it a lot more in a near silent car rather than an ICE car.

You two should come to New England in the fall and visit Club Motorsports in New Hampshire. It would make for some stunning footage and not many people know about that track. Janson Cammisa says it is one of his favorite tracks ever! Love all your content Sam, Tony is great too!
It was Ross Brawn that built the foundations of Honda, Brawn and then Merc F1. Schumi became part of it, but only in terms off smoothing out the the creases. Toto inherited Brawns team and a hugely dominant PU.
Andy Cowell deserves a shout out for the PU side. They had an immense advantage with their powerplant

I don’t think Leclerc has damaged his reputation. He has made some mistakes, but he drives on the limit all the time, thats why he has so many poles. I think he will be quicker than Lewis. Also Mecr has some thinking to do, I don’t think Russell is good enough to lead that team. I don’t expect much from them

Boys, my OH and I are leaving for Portugal starting on the 15th April and arriving back on 15th May. If you’re interested, the 50th Anniversary of the Carnation Revolution is on 25th. There will be parties everywhere though I’ll be in Cascais. Would be great to catch up if our paths cross. Also have a mate who has a YT channel who’s just started a monthly car review for folks in Portugal.

Can't wait for 2024 F1... He's sure to give it everything. On the Taycan I think wait for solid state batteries which will move EV's more in line with ICE - until then its a waiting game. Great episode guys..
Last comment I swear but with the current cost cap, and rumoured future caps in F1 the likes of Adrian Newey become so much more important to teams. Mercedes dominant era was incredible however budget played a huge part in that. The tighter the purse strings get, the more important the critical people within the teams will become as they will be the drive behind the innovation design and operating efficiencies of both the car and the outfit.
After so many years without a f1 championship for Ferrari , Hamiltons switch in 2025 is probably a good gamble as far as probability numbers are concerned as well as a large pay cheque, not a fan of HAM but the move is good for F1 as far as a shake up of the sport is concerned

Great example of how easy you can add £20k on a car. You needed sport chrono on that spec, everyone looks for that in resale.

Lewis didn’t drive the w15 in the sim when he made the Ferrari move. Lewis hasn’t fallen out with his management. His old manager was penni thow who handled his off track stuff like mission 44. They’re still on good terms and he has Marc Hynes back managing his on track duties

I think he absolutely did the right thing - I think he's in a completely unique position due to his own graft and a string of circumstances making a chance to leave F1 as the greatest driver and F1 story of all time - which is a damn tall order given the sports history.
The wheels on the RS6 are straight off a Ford Mondeo / Focus ST from the mid 2000’s
Also I would love to go on a drive with the lads but I live in a different country 😂

Lewis finished P4 in the championship in 2013 and Rosberg finished P6 behind Kimi in the Lotus Renault 🤦🏽
Anybody with an ounce of sense knows that adding a load of extras does not enhance the resale price one bit. They may help you sell it but they don't add much value on resale. That principle applies to ICE and EVs. If you want those extras get the higher spec of model, not the individual extras, that way you have abetter chance of retaining some value, but not all.
Taycan prices have fallen! Dealers are discounting new and they have stock! Yes it’s the current car. But revised one so much better range and charge time. Current one will fall more!
You must know this about Porsche options having bought them😂 always been this way.

Hamilton to Ferrari has been a rumour for like 5 years, maybe even longer. Finally it comes true. Newey is not leaving Red Bull, he's not uprooting his entire family and moving them to Italy. Red Bull let him take time out to work on special projects like boat racing and things like Valkyrie and RB17. He has it all. Just can't see it happening.

2024 is going to be more of a change than you think, Alpha Tauri or whatever they're calling themselves this week are going to be way up the field. They've basically cloned the RB19 from what we can see. They'll be 4th in the championship at minimum.
Our next exciting season is likely going to be 2025, it'll be a 2021-esque year. The final year before a major regulation change is always close.
Love this, but you should cover Toyota and BMW Hydrogen etc, they do not believe in EV, anf that is wonderful and true.
In 2013 hamilton comfortably beat rosberg in the championship, they were close in qualifying though
But no speculation on what happens to Carlos? Not as big a story as Lewis for sure, but still a huge story. One of the top 6-7 drivers on the grid will be displaced to??

Arguably there are only 4 'worldwide' sports that promote individuals before teams and the sporting discipline. Football, F1, Tennis & Golf. There are the only 4 that travel the world with fanfare and circus. Yes other sports have born incredible athletes that have broken into worldwide spotlight but not in the quantity those key 4 sports have in my opinion.

The kernel for this move I believe was the lack of backbone Mercedes showed in protesting the shambles of the end of the Abu Dhabi 2021 race. They should have taken it the full road to the Court of Arbitration for Sport imho. Couple that with the underpinning car of the last 2 years it’s a no brainer for Lewis.
If they did that it would just turned the results one lap back according to the rules, that would still let MAx win it all. WHat they would have needed was a freeze before the safety car and that was never gonna happen

Great news that Lewis is going to Ferrari. Only the timing of the announcement, which is pre season start, is odd. Lewis and Mercedes now have to go through a whole season together, knowing the relationship is over.

Nico definitely did not destroy Lewis in 2013. Lewis out qualified him and out raced him, finishing higher in the standings than Nico, all while trying to adapt to the different brakes on the Merc compared to the McLaren. And remember Nico won Silverstone cause Lewis had a puncture while leading then followed by Seb having a puncture afterwards.
Bloody quick driver is Nico but he definitely didn't have the upper hand in 2013.

I think like Tony, if Ferrari have a championship car, Lewis will walk away not in quali but race pace as Lewis manages his tyres better than leclerc. And Hamilton has won many races with that strategy. Race pace in a good car he is unbeatable

I think you're overstating Hamilton's 'bedding in' period with Mercedes in 2013 - Hamilton was 4th Rosberg's 6th over the season, and finished ahead of Rosberg in 7 of the first 10 races
