I love your videos, super helpful! How can I explain the choice of comparison for Logos? and explain why the author chose that?

Sorry for the delayed reply. Think about what is being compared and how to it is relevant to the rhetorical situation. Why did they choose those two things? How does that help them convey their message or argument? For example, in her letter to her son John Quincy, Abigail Adams compares a traveller to a river. The further a river gets from its source, the richer it gets. JQ was on a trip at the time and didn't want to go. The comparison helps him realize that the trip will be valuable to him. The comparison helps him come to this conclusion.

I don't know if there is anyways you can help me. I am trying to write a visual argument essay for The Revenant. In this essay I have to use some form of discussion of the use of pathos, ethos, and logos. I am having a really hard time finding a way to incorporate logos.

I’m not familiar with that text, but for logos, look for facts, stats, conditional sentences, or reasons.
