I watched it yesterday & had 1 major problem with the film.....It went from Mister being evil in 1985 and ripping Celie & Nettie apart to literally being the devil in 2023 and attempting to grape his 13 year old sister-in-law in her sleep & then shooting at her after throwing her out at night in the midst of a rain storm.
Well the book was far more graphic than either versions and Alice Walkers original story in my mind was meant to focus on the story of Celie and what she triumphed over and Mister was able to redeem himself even though he was a horrible individual throughout his younger years. I related to that on many levels as my own personal experience with my father is very similar, not nearly as bad but still traumatic. And if you remember he also tried to molest/ rape Nettie in the original in the woods. But trust me, the book went through it in far more graphic detail as books shall.
@@Thedevinelife77 Everyone keeps talking about the 📙.....I remember reading it as a teenager I need to read it again to upgrade my memory banks on the color purple.
