My biggest buyer's remorse is all the "wow, that's only $5!" clothing items I've gotten in the past. Things I thought were cute and that I could wear and if not, "Well, it was only $8." That stuff adds up and I'm moving now and I have all this crap I never wore to donate.
I love your point about embracing true joys. For me, it's going to concerts for musicians that I love. At first I felt some guilt for spending so much more on a ticket to be able to meet the artist or sit in the front row. But I have realized that those moments are some of my happiest memories. They bring me so much joy and it absolutely feels worth it
agree, go shorter! i remember you used to have shorter hair, and as you were growing your hair out i was hoping you'd cut it again.. (but wasn't going to comment that b/c you don't need that if you wanted to be rapunzel)
Yes to “experiences over things” 100x yes! Dining out, visiting new places and venues, going to shows and concerts are all worth more than buying a new thing. Get to a point in your wardrobe where you have pieces that you enjoy to wear and look good in and then wear those clothes to actual events and activities. Don’t just keep combing through what you think your wardrobe is missing and spending your time buying more and more things. Clothes are not the end all, they’re just what you wear while you live your life.
The "Wish List" has been a life saver for me this year! The only thing that gets me is when I go back to the list and the thing I'm ready to purchase is no longer available. But even that, I can just say "Oh well" and move on. Thank you for all your encouragement!!!
I rarely experience buyers remorse and thats because I always have a wishlist and give myself time to think of the purchase. I also LOOOVE returning items that do not meet my expectations. Very good tips in this video.
Buyers remorse for me usually has to do with pricier items that I purchased for my fantasy self, rather than for items I'll actually use frequently. I've learned that I'm happiest when I use those funds for my vacations.
When I was a teen shopping with my best friend I remember trying on a piece and being on the fence and my best friend offhandedly saying "if you have any doubts then it's a no" and similarly to 8, it has now become a motto for me when I'm shopping. Thanks for everything you share, Christina. :)
The cut is great, but I support going shorter. I think having visual space between the top of your shoulders and your hair will be super cute and fun stylistically. Plus, I’ve found that when you want to go shorter you should always scratch that itch. Have fun with it, it will get to this length again if you want it to.
Such a brilliant and important video. And when I am feeling that drive to buy, I try to remember that what I am *really* trying to buy can't be bought. I think your hair looks great at the length it is now but of course you will look fabulous either way.
In the past i've had buyers remorse when something didn't fit well on me, so keeping in mind the option of getting it tailored can be really helpful :) Unfortunately it can be very pricey depending on what you want to have done, but for a classic piece that you really love and will maybe get a lifetime's worth of use out of, it can be really worth it!
Yes to all!! I prefer online shopping because I can try the item on several times over several days. Moods change, weight fluctuates a bit. Sometimes it needs to marinate and you have to look at it without the excitement of receiving it. Usually I don't see any issues the first couple of times I try it on. Only after my pink love glasses have calmed down I can see the item for real. Then I try it on with as many things in my closet as possible. If I'm not totally in love with it after that it will be returned. I have wasted way too much money in the past with mehh items.
Making a wishlist has been so helpful for me this year. I also put a max price of how much I’m willing to spend on each item to help me plan my purchases and deter from purchase other items that aren’t on my wishlist.
Buyers remorse is a horrible thing. Most times for me, it happens when I’m influenced. I’m shopping with a friend and they say the jeans look great and I don’t like the price tag and it seems like trendy denim- but I buy it and it gets worn a handful of times and I can’t even part with it…. I’ve also bought styles of denim because an influencer said it was a great piece and I’ve never felt comfortable in it.
The wish list you taught me when I first found your channel was vital. I definitely need to work of #3 now. The other thing is I try to limit online purchases. For me online purchases have a lower chance of being returned verses in person.
Also, a big yes to point #2 I’ve found that Lululemon, Zara, and Aritzia all have good return policies and free shipping, plus their resale value is solid, so I feel good about shopping online with them.
I'm glad you made this video. Buyers remorse is one of the problem I really don't like dealing with. It really makes me overthink what I buy and eventually not make use of the item out because of this over thinking. Stuff like "did I really want this", " am I happy with this", or "well this make me happy in the long run". Even if I do come up with a solution or a positive thought why I have it there's always a negative working in the corner saying something that puts me in a bad mood and start overthinking. Even if I have planned this out and thought about everything before buying the product (like if it's on sale or what best time I can use said product), the overthinking really gets to me. I remember one product that I was having Buyers Remorse where I did find a solution around it and over time I did came over it, but the hard part is the now and sometimes, if you're OK with the solution you came up with. Sometimes I feel like it just want to cry because I really don't know if it's exactly buyers remorse or it's just me overthinking sometimes. It's a feeling I really don't like but eventually only time would really help Edit: just want to point out that the item I bought, I don't exactly hate it, I know what I was getting into, and I enjoy the previous variation of this item, but something about it is just off like maybe it was the wrong time to buy it or I'm just overthinking is this what I really wanted. I'm like this with everything I buy that as a high price even if it's on sale too. I do have couple gases but the point is elites to overthinking and then I start getting all sad
New subscriber, here! The minimum use policy is a good one. I have the bad habit of impulse purchasing… not returning it when it really doesn’t work with other pieces in my wardrobe…and then having to buy pieces to make the impulse buy work! It is a dark hole that sucks out my wardrobe budget. Good list!
#6 Find your true joys and #10 Focus on experiences - great takeaway ideas! It's really time with people, great meals, musical events, etc. that I never regret.
I'm a long-ish time viewer and rarely comment, but I needed to say that wow that cherry lipstick is wild cute on you. It's giving big Revlon Cherries in the Snow energy x
Yes on the jeans! I realized myself that it's the item I wear the most and am the happiest in, so I let myself buy more and buy better. They are literally the only items in my wardrobe I actually wear out.
You have very sensible advise for your viewers. I agree with all your points and have been practicing almost all. The hardest for me to overcome is buying things because they are really cheap (price). 10 $5 dollar items I don’t use or not wear much is still a waste of money and regret. I am trying to put function, compatibility, and longevity above dollar amount before I decide to keep something.
Great video! My recent buyers remorse was a Susan Graver top from QVC in the summer. It looked great on the model and was very different. It had a light blue waffle knit front and back and the sleeves were a polyester lacy multi color pattern. Scoop neckline. When it arrived it looked sloppy ...too long, neck too large, etc, but since I'm using my tailor frequently now so my clothes all fit well, I took it to her to shorten the length and bring up the sleeves so the neck opening was smaller. BIG MISTAKE ! It didn't work. I spent as much tailoring it as it cost. I don't even like waffle knit at all and totally won't purchase or wear polyester. So why did I purchase this? It just looked so darn cute on the young thin models. Lesson learned. I should have returned it.
love your new hair length..it looks full and healthy. at this length you can style it many ways and put it in a pony still. if you go shorter you cant go back or have as much versatility!
Love the JOMO concept. Hadn’t thought about it. Same with embracing what you love (like your denim collection). Hair looks great. An inch or two shorter would look fab too ❤
I was a shopaholic and now I try to spend less and have a better life. I m 'moving right now and I find a lot of clothes and shoes that I do not remember buying. I feel shame but I know that it is the end. I will take still a lot with me but I will not buy winter clothes at all. Last year I bought my dream dog. The time that I spend with I do not go shopping. Thank you for your videos and greetings from France😃
Love your new hair cut and a whole make up outfit situation. Lil bit of color make you more stunning Christina!!! And thx for sharing your honest experience
There is no need to have FOMO. There is ALWAYS something else will come along. I definitely have had buyers remorse. Not too often, but sometimes things don't live up to their hype. I do always check return policies. Just returned a mattress a couple days ago. Now sleeping on the floor waiting for a different mattress.
Great advice, as always! Thank you! 👏😊 I love your hair at this length! 😍 If you want more time in between haircut appointments, I would definitely go shorter next time though, since you will likely get annoyed once it gets to that awkward length where it really starts resting on your shoulders. Right now I feel like it’s at the perfect length- if you agree with me on that, getting it cut an inch or so shorter will make it so you enjoy your hair for longer (and save you money at the same time) by giving you more time in between appointments + less appointments per year. 👍 Major tip- make sure you always book your appointment weeks in advance, especially at this time with the holidays coming up, because everyone will be rushing to get an appointment. 😉 The average rate of hair growth is about 1/2 inch per month, which is a good way to figure out when you’ll likely be itching to have it cut again. For instance, I have a “French bob”- I get a trim every two months, and I get it cut about 1 inch above my chin because I like it the most when the length is at, or above, my chin. Hope this helps! 😊 xox!
At this point, you are just the Angel on my shoulder! The past few months you have taught me sooooo much! And you really “get it” thank you for sharing these tips! I’ve saved this vid. P.s don’t go shorter!
Love the haircut. Setting a use policy spoke to me - looking at my air fryer, instapot, and pizza stone - my go to is my crock pot. Need to start adding recipes to use these tools into my meal plans or out they go like my bread maker. 😅
Wish list is a definite yes. I have a recent purchase I’m a bit doubtful about but thankfully that’s rare these days. I bought a lightweight collarless jacket and it fits beautifully but I thought I’d wear it instead of a cardigan and it doesn’t work. I will keep it and treat it as a “hell yes” for the warmer weather though 😊 Your hair looks great
I love the way my hair looks short - between chin and ear length, but can't stand not being able to pull it back to get it completely off of me. while a must in the Texas summers, it is something I need all year round, especially when working out. just something to consider on your length - if that's not a must for you, go for it.
Love your hair :). I got buyers remorse from purchasing clothes that i didnt really need at the time, that were just pretty things, and on the top of that i couldnt afford at the moment but i purchased anyway :(. Love from 🇲🇽
Can’t wait to see your new shorter length. I have accepted that every few wardrobe purchases there is going to be some thing that doesn’t work out as intended. For example, some shoes just aren’t as comfortable as you hope after you truly give them a run. My biggest regrets, are when I have let my favorite items go prematurely. I wish I had just put them aside for a season or had them mended for more use. I almost discarded my swimsuit recently but realized I could probably find away to add some elastic to get more use out of it. I couldn’t find anything I liked nearly as much.
Great video! So many helpful tips I’ve been trying to implement in my everyday life. Thx so much for reinforcing those tools. In terms of buyers remorse I bought three bags one from Christian Dior ( a WOC, and a satchel; from Chanel a pouch I purchased all three on impulse. I’ve learned an expensive lesson.
The WOW-items are mostly the ones I regret buying. They catch your eye in the store but they often don't function with the rest of your wardrobe or there are not enough occasions to wear them. I totally agree with the other points to consider. And your hair - if your neck is slim and long and your hair has a lot of volume - don't cut it shorter. I did and I regretted it for those exact reasons.
I've started implementing a wish list and it's helped so much! Granted sometimes emergencies pop up (I'm looking at you spaghetti stained white T that wouldn't come out) so having to buy things on the fly but I know the brand I want so it's not something I have buyers remorse on
if i feel buyers remorse and cant return it, 9 times out of 10 i try to make it work if there's no sizing issue ! there must have been a reason why i bought it, so either I dye it, tailor it or spend an afternoon pairing it with unusual things which usually makes me happy because i love clothes and my wardrobe. I'm at the point in my journey where i can start experimenting with cool stuff so it's super fun to step out of the box and at least get some of my money's worth you know.
I learned that over time, having a wish list and trying things out in store makes a difference. Sometimes, the one thing that I was excited to get is actually not worth the hype once I try it on. For instance, I wanted to try jogger jeans the other day. Instead of going for impulse buying, however, I waited for a month. Sure enough, the item's price was reduced, which was great. But...once I tried the pants on, I realized that I just wasn't feeling it. The pockets make the garment look like some work pants, and it was just no different from the other jeans I had in the 90s. So, some $40 saved right there. And I still love jeans-collecting. I wear each and every pair that I have - they get rotated all the time, so they all see some time outside.
I love your new hair. I say don't go shorter. Mid-length hair is the most versatile. I very rarely have buyers remorse anymore. In my 50's I have learned to mostly avoid this. 1. I keep a list of things I really want. 2. When I buy something, I make sure I know the return policy and buy from stores that have liberal return policies. 3. I then hang the item in my closet and try it on multiple times, like sometimes everyday for a week or something like that. I try the item with things I own to see if it works with my wardrobe. Many purchases end up going back to the store. 4. I no longer settle. I used to buy clothes that were cheap and on sale and while sometimes they turned out to be items I loved, more often than not, I wore them a few times and then I ended up giving them away. Often these items had one little thing about them that I wasn't sure about like color, the fit, etc but it was cute for the most part and a good price so I bought it. Now If I have any doubt whatsoever, I return it. I tell myself, I can always find clothes that are exactly what I want. 5. I look at cost as cost per wear. If I really love something, then it is worth it to spend more and have that item for many years. This is within reason of my budget of course. 6. Buying less clothes and putting more thought into every purchase (this started about 5 years ago as a way to pay off debt but it has now became habit for me and I will never shop like I used to). Of course there are always things I want to buy, but for the most part I am pretty happy now with my wardrobe as opposed to previously when I was always shopping and always felt like I had nothing to wear. 7. I buy clothes that fit me. I no longer buy clothes that I have to lose 5-10 lbs to get into or buy clothes when I am a low weight that I know is not maintainable. I did this all the time when I was young because you know, you never think you are thin enough. My friends and I were always on crazy diets. Looking back, I realize I was not overweight at all. 8. I know my style and what works for my body type. 9. I no longer buy fantasy clothes that I like on others but are just not me or are not suited for my body type.
Hi Christina - great video! You asked about your hair and I think it looks really cute on you, but I would describe it as a Lob as opposed to a Bob. I think you will need to go a little shorter for a Bob, which I think would also look fab on you :)
I just experienced buyers remorse after buying one watch 2 months ago, which I wear every day and isn’t a regret buy, it’s a great watch, but then I bought 2 other watches which were on sale and ended up putting them in a drawer because I didn’t wear them anywhere near as much as the first watch I bought, so I had such strong buyers remorse that I put them away so I don’t have to see them lol. Quite sad really because they actually are quite nice watches too, and could have gone with someone who would actually use them. And I can’t return them because silly me threw the receipt and packaging away lol.
I use the KarmaNow app to hold my wishlist. Not only does it serve as a wishlist but let's me know if my items go down in price or go in and out of stock. And over time I use it as a list of what I have in my wardrobe. I'm thinking of using a wardrobe app. Would love you to review them.
Hello Christina , I'm Sarah from Kuwait I've watched almost all of your videos. I just want to ask you about vision boards have you ever tried them? Thank you for your videos💗
My biggest buyer's remorse is all the "wow, that's only $5!" clothing items I've gotten in the past. Things I thought were cute and that I could wear and if not, "Well, it was only $8." That stuff adds up and I'm moving now and I have all this crap I never wore to donate.
Same…and nary a care for natural fibers I’ll say that for sure 🥵
You don’t care for natural fiber? I happen to have just realized i prefer natural fibers the most!
@@underated17 no I meant that was part of my remorse lol

Yessss go shorter! I did earlier this year and I’m living for the Marilyn Monroe-vibes 💁🏻♀️
Ahhhh love that vibe!
I would love to get a Audrey Hepburn cut one day!
New hair do looks so fresh on you, C!
Hair always grows back, go shorter!
agree, go shorter! i remember you used to have shorter hair, and as you were growing your hair out i was hoping you'd cut it again.. (but wasn't going to comment that b/c you don't need that if you wanted to be rapunzel)

Ok, JOMO feels Stoic lol. Thanks for reframing the idea missing out as nothing to be bothered by. Embracing this! 🎉

I'm having most of my clothes tailored now because I'm 5'2" and 156 pounds size 14 large. It has been so worth it.

I love how you have a video for everything to do with spending money and everuthing
This is one of the most useful style vids I’ve ever watched. THANK YOU.
Great message! And I love your hair at this new length. I think it's perfect!

Love your speech about cultivating feelings and memories! That's an investment and never a regret 🍃
Your hair looks so cute! Love the cut and length!
The hair looks great! Tips in this video are so great. Gave me a lot to think about!!
You new hair is so cute. Great points/tips.
Great video and your hair looks fantastic! So much more present and sophisticated.
Your hair is so pretty at any length. Love this shorter look !
Haircut is so cute, you’d look super chic shorter as well! It’s giving Winona Ryder, especially with her t-shirt + blazer looks 🤍
Love the JOMO concept. Hadn’t thought about it. Same with embracing what you love (like your denim collection).
Hair looks great. An inch or two shorter would look fab too ❤

To avoíd that feeling of maybe there's something better, I save and buy the best. It's more mindful and definitely delays gratification!
I now do a wish list. Such a good way to not buy on impulse. Usually I’ve forgotten the item after a few days or see something else I prefer.
Great advice, as always! Thank you! 👏😊

Excellent video, still perfecting eliminating buyer’s remorse but I’ve made huge strides! Love your hair! Shorter would work, too.
I’ve felt remorse , but more often anger: when the item goes on sale immediately after I’ve paid full price. So frustrating!!!
Wish list is a definite yes. I have a recent purchase I’m a bit doubtful about but thankfully that’s rare these days. Love the haircut!
Wishlist part works all the time. Sometimes I end up buying nothing from a wishlist with 10+ items
FINALLY SOMEONE DID IT :') Thank you so much ❤️
At times I always feel like I have buyers remorse so thanks Christina for the tips! 😅☺️
Your hair is perfect.
I did and I regretted it for those exact reasons.
aaah I love the hair!!!
Love the hair!
I've started implementing a wish list and it's helped so much! Granted sometimes emergencies pop up (I'm looking at you spaghetti stained white T that wouldn't come out) so having to buy things on the fly but I know the brand I want so it's not something I have buyers remorse on
thanks for this reminder :)
Another great video...thank you for all you do. Love the new hair, but as a 90's girl i highly support going 2-3 inches short :)
Thank you for these tips❤ I've regretted buying items only because they were on sale or they looked good on others but did not suit my body type.
if i feel buyers remorse and cant return it, 9 times out of 10 i try to make it work if there's no sizing issue ! there must have been a reason why i bought it, so either I dye it, tailor it or spend an afternoon pairing it with unusual things which usually makes me happy because i love clothes and my wardrobe. I'm at the point in my journey where i can start experimenting with cool stuff so it's super fun to step out of the box and at least get some of my money's worth you know.
Thank you for your videos it really helped me
I learned that over time, having a wish list and trying things out in store makes a difference.
Lovely , that's a great length.
I’m definitely going to make my wish list!
I’m just waiting for a holiday discount after season ends. If it’s still available, then yep, I’ll buy it.
I love the length!! How do you style it? Will you do a video about it? Thanks!!
Totally! I can do a vlog! ❤️
Very chic haircut!
excellent video! thank you very much!
Love your hair
Nice cut! You look great!
Thank you!
Love the look in this video. I miss that go a little shorter although this length is good too.
I think that hair length is perfect :)
Love your content ❤
Hi Christina - great video! You asked about your hair and I think it looks really cute on you, but I would describe it as a Lob as opposed to a Bob. I think you will need to go a little shorter for a Bob, which I think would also look fab on you :)
I feel guilty about spending money, and then to top it off, I hate returning things .
Hi Christina! What is the name of this beautiful nail polish?
I love the new hair just the way it is! If you go shorter, it may be more difficult to create an updo. Maybe live with it for a while and see?
Def shorter, I had a kitchen scissors lob 93-94, …fell halfway between jaw and shoulders. Then I shaved my head ala Tank Girl
Very helpful video thanks ! And this haircut is very flattering on you, you can definitely go shorter, it will look great 🤩
I just experienced buyers remorse after buying one watch 2 months ago, which I wear every day and isn’t a regret buy, it’s a great watch, but then I bought 2 other watches which were on sale and ended up putting them in a drawer because I didn’t wear them anywhere near as much as the first watch I bought, so I had such strong buyers remorse that I put them away so I don’t have to see them lol. Quite sad really because they actually are quite nice watches too, and could have gone with someone who would actually use them. And I can’t return them because silly me threw the receipt and packaging away lol.
The length is PERFECT!
I love your hair but do the chop!! it'll grow back so fast anyways, go for that dramatic cut girl!! you look so good!
Yes! Shorter ❤
Love this length BUT if you want to go for it, remember this: hair grows back! Have fun!
Cut the back shorter and front a big longer! You will love it and since you have already made the big chop, why not try it? Hair grows.....
Hello Christina , I'm Sarah from Kuwait I've watched almost all of your videos. I just want to ask you about vision boards have you ever tried them? Thank you for your videos💗
I haven’t! I should more! Thank you Sarah!
