Im glad i found this on how to use inpa in simple terms. I have a question, my inpa only works with the engine codes but not on the other functions like its body controls, transmission, etc. It says “No response from control unit. Program will be stopped”.
Thanks for this! I recently purchased the INPA installation CD + cable, have yet to install though. I see there's a readout for oil temp, if only there was a way to code that into a permanent dash reading or at least see it in the hidden menu!
I had bought BMW DIS V44 V57 SSS V63 & TIS V8 INPA EDIABAS DIAGNOSTIC SOFTWARE USB 20-16 PIN. I noticed your version has a lot more English than the version I got off ebay. Is there a setting to change it to English on the program or is it just a difference our softwares? Your version looks a lot easier to use for someone that speaks English where my version is a lot more German.

Does INPA have the ability to change the engine idle rpms. I have the 3-2-1 bump and its a rebuilt transmission so before buying another valvebody as it could be the low pressure valve, I wanted to try the raising of idle rpm values that is another trick to fix this. Yes I have reset transmission adaptation values with no change.

This is the second of your videos that I have watched - specifically trying to learn quickly how to use this software (already downloaded and the profiles copied in) and how to FIX both of my e39 540iT. I have a 2001 (Gandalf The Grey) and a 2003 (Gandalf The White). The Grey is actually stranded somewhere not at home after suddenly misfiring all over the place..... right after I cleaned the combustion chambers out and it drove extremely well for about 90 minutes. Then I parked it for about 5 hours while at work and then I tried to go get lunch and it was not even the same car I drove that very morning. I replaced all four O2 sensors, but the car now refuses to start and run - I'm thinking codes need to be cleared - but I'd really like to hear from you or someone about this. I've never done this kind of work before and it frightens me to think that I will start screwing my cars up by not having a clue. The White, sitting now for two years in silence, has had a TRANSMISSION FAIL SAFE MODE problem for about three years now - it's been driven very little and is in fantastic shape overall. Do you think I can correct this fail safe problem using the cable and software? Does anyone know anything about this? I likely will have to join and hit up a real forum. But any help is greatly appreciated for sure. I've done a pretty damn good job at working and repairing my 5 vehicles since I started in 2014 - but I'm coming up against another steep learning curve and I feel lost. Thank you.
HI, Evan, I followed up your instruction to install it, why the NCS-EXPERT open it, after F1+F3 , do not indicate FG and FA NBR , that is only Chassis E70 come out. I check software, do not find the SP-DATEN. Whether or not some where miss the software or others. thank you so much

It’s actually a good video for anyone a little familiar with INPA. That is a prerequisite though. If this is the first video you come across on INPA it’s understandable that this would be confusing. 👍🏻
I don’t get the battery or ignition on for my e46 through the obd2 under the steering column. My inpa software and cable work on my e38 with the 20 pin adapter thou. What is this about bridging pins? Should I do that or should I have the battery and ignition on before I mess with other stuff?

@@EvanGoyuk so you think when my mechanic did the position clutch sensor swap. when he tried to adapt it he didn't have it connected to a trickle charger. because when he swapped the old one out with a new one the fault came back right away.

I recently watched one of your videos on inpa and downloaded mikes bmw tools from the link you provided. I had a cable that i purchased from a shop here in SA, I think its a rip off as it doesn't have the switch from kline to dcan. When I connect to the car, the battery and ignition light stays on, on the inpa program. Even if i bridge the 7 and 8 pins on the cable. I somehow managed to read the error codes and it says 144 manipulationsschutz ews which is the anti tamper protection. I tried to sync the ews and dme, get a few messages in German that basically say start value already set. Do you maybe think that i should buy a proper cable? Its an e46 318i 2000 preface lift, with the 20 pin round connector not obd. This car was bought from someone, i think they tampered with the car before as well, so I maybe want to try and recode all settings back to factory as well, however for now I'd like to get the car started. Any advice would be appreciated
I've had a laptop loaded with INPA, NCS Expert, and a few others for the past five years...I'm afraid to let it get closer than 20' of my E53 for fear that I'll brick it. I know if I screw up there isn't shop in the land that will want anything to do with fixing my mistake.

Hello Evan! So I installed the software and I have a cable, hooked up to my 2007 E83 with the N52 engine, and all was well until I started deeper into the menus - they were in German. Is there a fix for that, besides translating?
