    To the commenters about talking too much, it's good to know why things are done so that you can take that knowledge and apply it to other recipes. Also the extra knowledge can help solve cooking problems.

    To those who commented about how much she talks, I can’t understand for the life of me why you would even continue watching a video if you don’t like it? There are tons of other videos cooking sweet potato fries in the air fryer! Just find another one to watch and stop bashing this one!

      Maybe you don't have other things to do, but most of us come to these pages looking for tips & instructions for a specific food, and listening to USELESS TALK, is a HUGE waste of time.

    Thank You. You've actually touched onto the subject which is my primary reason for interest in an air fryer which is creating dishes more anti inflammatory since my wife has reumatoid arthritis

      Cut out all seed oils and switch to good, grass fed animal fats like tallow, lard, and butter. Eat farm fresh eggs. No more brominated aka enriched flours! Get sunshine and drink clean, filtered water.
      I had RA and mine is now GONE. A good mineral supplement can also help. Rubbing castor oil on the joints before bed will also make her feel much better while her body heals.

    I only put in water for 5 min because I didn’t want to wait a whole hour 😂but they came out so good and crunchy just the way I like them. ❤❤❤

    Thank you :) (If you follow Steven Gundry, he really recommends sweet potatoes because their "resistant starches" are good for your gut bugs. While sweet potatoes are resistant starches, however, regular potatoes are not and they're not good for your gut bugs)

      Not quite true. If you boil spuds & then put them into the fridge over night, some of the starch turns into resistant starch. Next day you can then use those spuds to make potatoe salad or air fry them or whatever you like.

    I always use my hands when cooking because they are the best tools in the kitchen, so says me and Martha Stewart. I make sure to wash them thoroughly, just like you do, too. So carry on, carry on. Thank you for the video. I am enroute to the supermarket to buy some now. I made some before but they were soft. Thanks for the tips!! I dip mine in balsamic vinegar yum and mix them with white potatoes. Thanks again.

    I also love leaving on the skins & they are better for glycemic load…..which means they are better for you🥰.
    Also “The skin of sweet potatoes is also a good source of potassium and a quercetin. Potassium helps control blood pressure and reduces the risk of heart disease, while quercetin is a flavonol that boosts the immune system”

    yes, they do have a lower glycemic index than white potatoes. See Dr Weil's column.

    These would be good to try my Kitchen Aid mixer Spiralizer attachment (curly fries!) Re: cornstarch...I wonder if a little Baking Soda would help crisp the potatoes more...hmm. Or add turmeric or other curry powder...trust me!

    Interesting. I tried one batch that was bought and I find them too hard and dry and sweet as sugar was added. I will give yours a try. Will purple sweet potatoes do?

    True yams are unrelated to sweet potatoes, while orange, white, and purple sweet potatoes are all in the sweet potato family.
    I made these, substituting tapioca starch for cornstarch (which I react to). Worked out fantastic.

      Absolutely! Everything should be the same, but you might have to tweak the time of it depending on how hot and how well the air circulates in your air fryer tray. Give it a shot!

    Wow, those look amazing! And yes, I'll bet garlic aioli would be the perfect dip for them. Yum!
    I'm surprised that you use chickpeas as they are a legume, which is considered inflammatory (though I'm sure they are very tasty!). I checked out the rest of the list on your pdf and I agree that's a great overall standard to follow. 👍

      Yep, dip these in a little aioli and it's the bomb!! And it's interesting you say that chickpeas are inflammatory. They are on many lists that say they are anti inflammatory. I do eat them all the time and have never had an issue. Certainly, everybody's body can react differently to different things though. I appreciate your comment!

      @@Thespicyapron yes, definitely. We're all different. If they don't cause you any trouble, no reason not to eat them. Same with nightshades. I'm just thinking of AIP and Best Bet Diet, which say to cut out legumes completely.

      I love cumin ketchup for my sweet potato fries, just stir in about a teaspoon of cumin into a half a cup of ketchup, it's even better the next day.

    Good evening Heather great video and fries look awesome. I have made them in the oven but will try in my airfryer. I think some garlic salt and onion powder will be my choices to add. You get more beautiful as time goes on.

    Seeet potatoes are lower in carbs than white potatoes. Carbs are the source of nearly all ill health. So yes, they are healthier.
