Sir i have a very very humble request please play pain theme song of naruto anime it is amazing you should plz listen to it once it is really amazing please play that song
what I really love about your channel is you don't try to sell anything whatsoever . Nearly all other youtube teachers use their channels to advertize their piano/keyboard courses ,books or whatever
My 4th and 5th fingers on my left hand are showing me that they haven't contributed to my daily living for quite a long time. That two notes for every one note challenge is WILD!!! I discovered you about 3 weeks ago when I learned that I inherited a baby grand piano that arrived last week. I haven't played since 5th grade aka 40 years!!!! You explain everything perfectly and you make learning fun. Thank you for all that you do.
Jazer, I am a 66 year old absolute beginner and just discovered you. Huge gratitude for what you do - sharing joy, tips and incredibly helpful exercises. Enormous appreciation from this oldie who is beginning to grow new neurones and dendrites learning to play this beautiful instrument. Thank you.
I spent 15 minutes a day for 2 weeks and I can comfortably play all these different exercises now, and it has helped my general piano playing so much. Thanks Jazer
I'm a beginner and started working on the hands together at the 5:35 mark. Yes, indeed, it is very difficult for me! It helps to know that the right hand does a thumb tuck on the way up the scale and the left hand does the thumb tuck on the way down. It's a real brain workout!
Perfect timing for this video! I just started to learn piano :) I was already working on your 7 Arpeggio exercises but I was already asking myself: how do I play scales and what is the correct fingering? Kind regards from Berlin!
Thank you. I appreciate your beginner videos. Now that I am retired I have time to learn a new skill and I am enjoying it very much. Learning piano is great hand and brain exercise. Ive been using an app so far.
I noticed you accidentally caught the edge of a wrong note on the way down on one of the arpeggios. It makes me happy and shows that you are human and capable of errors too :-)
It will take a little while to go from similar motion to contrary motion. C is not difficult, but the more sharps and flats you have, the more challenging contrary motion can be. Slow and steady wins the race.
I´m talking to you from Maceió, Brazil. I´m 76. I started learning the piano when I was 12 in a prep school in the UK. I had really bad teachers, so I stopped having lessons, but I never stopped playing and trying to improve. Your videos (and videos of other great and generous teachers) have been an eye-opener to me and really helped. I´ve improved significantly because of you and others. So thank you. Gordon Moore.
My synthesizer is PSR 323 YAMAHA.somehow White key b3 is not working, I find it very difficult to play, there's no such service centre around, what shall I do, should I go for a new one.or how do I manage. Plz suggest.
What do you think of this fingering for chromatic scales ? Right hand ascending starting on C: 123451234545 and repeat; right hand descending same fingering - if starting on C 1545432154321. Left hand ascending starting on C is 543215432121 repeat; descending (starting on C) 5121234512345 repeat. What I like about it is A) there are only 3 hand positions per octave (2 moves) as compared to anything with a traditional thumb tuck involving at least 4 positions, 3 thumb tucks per octave, if you want to use the same fingering on every octave and not a 2 octave pattern before repeating; B) you can use the same fingering on every octave; C) when striking with a given finger on the left hand there is a single unique corresponding finger in the right hand - for example left thumb is always right pinky. The obvious disadvantage is that you can’t do a legato thumb tuck as with classical fingering. You need to jump the hand instead. Unless I do each way for years I can’t tell which approach is better. I’m very comfortable with the 1234545 fingering in right hand ascending, so I think it’s mostly a question of whether I can eventually get the hand jumps to the new thumb positions to be quick and seamless and not lead to uneven accent. If you think this is a bad idea, what fingering do you use for chromatic scales, or does it vary?
Hi thank you so much for this technique. I just started to learn. I have a Yamaha PSR E363 keyboard. I would like to buy a better one. Do you have any suggestion?
For beginner, how many hours practice will yield acceptable result as this video Instructed? My guess is 2 hours a day for a month befor you are Comfortable for this Exercise.
You're the best piano teacher ever! I've just started playing piano since the beginning of this year and this is helping a lot to gain speed! Thank you so much! I'd also like to ask you if you could ever do tutorials on how to play the songs from the movie "A STAR IS BORN", most notably the songs, Shallow, always remember us this way, look what I found, I don't know what love is, is that alright? and I'll never love again. I'd appreciate it a lot.
Hi jazer I've been watching all your videos over and over again coz I want to take the ameb exams... can you help me going thru the process and enroll your class?
- close touch ! yay! finally !!! :-) VERY well done! I'll be interested to see the next level - need to involve transfer of weight from wrists, arms, advancing thumb early, minimize twisting of hands by rotating wrists, playing in clusters, using rhythms, etc.
Is the advice about not lifting your hand medically sound? 4th and 5th fingers are the way they are for a reason. What’s the problem with wrist rotation? My understanding that this prevents injury?
I'm a beginner so don't take my word for it but I don't think Jazer is opposing wrist rotation per se but about lifting thumb side up to provide strength to the other pinky side instead of building pinky strength. So rotation is side to side not up and down. Jazer can you confirm?
The 2 x 1 exercise is challenging. Good one. I got a little soreness in the ring finger from practicing that. Indicating that particular muscle / tendon is weak and needs strengthening.
Thank you so much!! I am really learning! I played as a child and am now at 65 yrs old picking it up again to enhance my life. You are wonderful!! Thank you!
Hey Jazer I gotta say thank you so much for the free piano related content. You're really helping a lot of people like me out, but I had a question for you... What would you think about doing piano related livestreams? It could be a fun way for you to interact with your fans. You could let fans send in musical pieces that they would enjoy watching you learn and play and also you could answer in real time to some of the more nuanced piano related questions your viewers might have at the time. Anyways thought it was a fun idea
Thank you so much for this video. I have been following you regularlyfor few months. It has been very helpful for me, a beginner. I have a question for you. You teach us to keep all finger on key low, as low as possible, perhaps. But some other teachers ask to raise fingers to struck keys with force to train beginner’s muscles to be stronger at beginning phase of study. This conflicting way of approach makes me a bit of confused. Would you please comment on that? Many thanks🙏
Good question! All pianists have different philosophies of technique. My reasoning for keeping fingers low is for security and control. My problem with raising fingers is, a lot of beginners end up not building finger independence. They raise fingers and it affects how the other fingers behave, this isn't good. That being said, raising your fingers to strike keys is also not wrong per se. If you want to train this way, I suggest starting the action from the key bed- touching the keyboard with your finger before it comes up high to then strike down. Hope this helps.
I need help I’m confused it seem like every time I go faster there is a stunt in when I’m playing is it because of my fingers or it something else please help
How did you go with these easy speed exercises?
You are so very thoughtful
Hi jazer... how to contact you for a graded piano lessons? I’m from Sydney too.. do you have a achool?
Thank you so much❤

The best piano teaching method and technic to start with, I see in you. Thanks so much, JL.

If you want fast fingers, always practice it slow at start. Only this way you can achieve accuracy and speed
Just at the time when i am figuring out how could i improve my fast finger run skills haha!
Good one, eager to unlearn some bad habits and pick up the speed
Will you be doing a video on exercises to further increase speed?
yes next time there will be more advanced ones :)
@@jazerleepiano Thank you very much. 😁
I really need this
Thank you for sharing this, you have a natural talent to explain things in a clear and inspiring way.
Kind regards from Dominican Republic.
