Rush Hour Trains at: Tring, WCML, 13/08/21

An excellent evening spent at Tring on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast, Southern and freight from Freightliner, GBRF, DB Cargo UK and Royal Mail.
Tring station was opened by the London and Birmingham Railway in 1837 when the company extended its line from London Boxmoor to Tring. The station gained some fame when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert took the royal train north of London and had to call at Tring in order for the train to take on water. This in turn brought out crowds of locals to see the royals and the train. Because of the level of interest that the train brought Queen Victoria asked to have the train run at a reduced speed for the remainder of the journey.
The acquisition of the land wasn't easy however as the owners of the Harcourt Estate wanted an enormous sum of money for the L&BR to build a station at Tring. However because of the town's folk were so enthusiastic about getting a train station they actually managed to raise the funds which allowed for the station to be built by bridging the gap between what the estate wanted and what the railway company were prepared to pay.
The station has recently gone under a redevelopment with a new footbridge and platforms to give the station a new lease of life as well as giving the car park a quick going over.
That will be it for my rush hour films this year I'm afraid as I have other things that I want to get done that means I wouldn't have the time to get these rush hour films done for you all.
But next year I will make more of an effort with then and get a great many more places done for you all across the country.

Nice video at Tring. By 2026 Crossrail is set to open a spur for the 9-coach 345 services from Old Oak Common on the main Crossrail section to Watford Junction and to Tring to relieve capacity on the West Coast Mainline. This section is planned to be extended to Milton Keynes at a later date. Next year the core of the current Crossrail project will open to the public and TFL Rail will transfer all services to the newly opened Elizabeth Line and the 9-coach 345s will run on the entire route and services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield and Paddington and Reading will go on the full route between Reading and Shenfield and Vice versa including the core of Crossrail. Travelcard Zones 7, 8 and 9 will expand to all stations between West Drayton and Reading. Reading itself will be in the newly created Travelcard Zone 10 enabling Oystercard users to travel as far out of London to Reading on Crossrail.

0:38 horribly distorted PA system. sounds like the Atos announcement unit is plugged into a microphone input on the amplifier, whereas it should be plugged into a "line"/"aux"/"music" input. Either that or the volume is simply too high.
